Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh)[]
I accidentally come across Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, later called simply Osho, a guru who set up a commune outside of Antelope, Oregon, which in 1984, about a year after Doomsday, would be renamed Rajneesh. US authorities deported him and his group dissolved in 1987. However, one of the things he "preached" (his was not a "religion," but a philosophy, was the danger of nuclear catastrophe that was coming to the world. The confusion of the civil war in Oregon may have given him ample support -- his prediction had indeed come true. Anyone think they can work the commune in. See the Wikipedia article on Antelope, Oregon for the exact location. --SouthWriter 04:00, March 15, 2011 (UTC)
WTH?[]
I wonder if the folks who wrote this have been to oregon. The maps make no sense in terms of geography, and ignores the existance of rivers and mountains. Especially the divide between the MSP and free states ignores river and map bounderies. The Willamette as far south as Eugene has been used historically for river transit, with the break down of fuel systems it's much easier to do commerce on the river between Eugene to the falls. Indeed a natural series of states are going to grow up along the columbia system, and having the mouth be independant will be hard. Further the seperation of Oregon and washington doesn't make sense for the parts of southern washington that are connected by river to the Columbia.
Additionally the MSP seems not to include the Umpqua valley in any of it's details yet the maps show large chunks of the valley under control. The Umpqua valley is fair more productive and built up than the Rogue Valley but lacks good roads to connect with the rest of the MSP, while going north is more easy.
Lastly the airbases don't make sense. The one near corvallis was never finished. The Major station in Klamath Falls is unaccounted for. And if Corvallis is getting major radiation, Unlikely for the area the winds tend to blow toward albany which is why the experimental cow farms are in the direction of the never finished air base.
North Bend has a radar facility. Umatilla would of been hit to knock out the chemical warfare capabilities of the US. IF we're lucky it incernates, if not, the deaths in east would of been horrible. Several more radar site and air stations in E. Oregon. And many coast guard facilities that might be hit in the cites of the MSP.

Nope, never been to Oregon. Maps are hard to work from in terms of territory.Oerwinde 05:31, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
Quite frankly, I must ask the same question of you - while you seem to have some knowledge of Oregon, you obviously have a very poor knowledge past a general outline of the area - most of all this I am about to say is from wikipedia, and common knowledge. And, you show a massive ignorance of the timeline as well.
Radar stations were not hit virtually anywhere. Chemical Depots were pretty much left alone too, since in this type of conflict, they are useless. Not every little airport was hit, and all of the "air stations" you quote were abandoned by the feds after WWII, and were then made 100% useless by technology. Jets couldn't fly out of these things, not military ones, and cannot use those airports without a massive improvement.
Adair Air Base and the base at Klamath Falls were both shut down well before this date. The one, despite being unfinished - and, not in any regard that makes in unusable as a base, but you obviously don't know that - is in a much larger urban area, closer to Portland and the coast, and it was a matter of personal preference to hit it and not the other.
Coast Guard facilities, outside of their headquarters, were untouched in their own blasts, but were often destroyed in other strikes.
Just because something lies inside the territory of the MSP doesn't mean that it needs to mentioned in the article.
This is in a world where chaos reined in Oregon for several years. The areas of some semblance of stability, and zones of control, are greatly different than what you seem to believe is possible. You hit the reason for it only being parts of the Umpqua valley right on the head.
You've obviously not read any of the Washington articles. Or anything but this article and the Oregon state articles.
As far south as Eugene. And with a pair of strikes further downriver preventing much transit from happening. Little to no communication is happening here.
For boundaries about the MSP, refer to sentences 3 sections above this one.
