United Ireland

I think that if Scotland voted yes then that would lead to a united Ireland.Dalekdrone11 (talk) 11:40, February 7, 2016 (UTC)

Hmm. I think it's very unlikely, even if the UK was split, that Ireland woulld ever completely unite, for quite a variety of reasons. However, it's possible, that in this ATL, at some point maybe Northern Ireland could become an independent state, but not for a couple of years. However, for the time being, i'm thinking that, with more calls for independence in the UK (In NI and Wales specifically), the UK will be forced to grant more devolved powers out, possibly becoming a federal state. Possibly, then, after a few years, Ulster may become an independent state with close links to both the UK and ROI.

However, if you do want to contribute anything to this TL, especially Ireland and Northern Ireland, please do go ahead. Bryce3 (talk) 12:03, February 7, 2016 (UTC)

I think is more possibile if the Ulster will leave the UK and join the Ireland, and this can be brought at a second Troubles in the Northern Ireland.  Col. James Hsu (talk) 17:14, February 7, 2016 (UTC)

The thing is I don't see loyalists wanting to join the ROI, not just because of religion but other issues, for example, i'm assuming some proportion would be monarchists, and wouldn't want to see that go. Its difficult. However, perhaps an independent Ulster with power-sharing and close-links to both states - or perhaps it could be a special region with both states adminisastring it, but with it's own police force, etc.

I updated the Tainaste post position as that has recently changed with the new election currently its Frances Fitzgerald but feel free to revert it back to Joan Burton if you wish.

Thanks, if you wanna you can complete Ireland. User:Col. James Hsu
