General talk[]

There was seven blasts in the London metro between 2:02am and 2:11am, and another 3 later on, between 2:22am and 2:36am. Adding them to the earlier two, a total of 12, as the UK page says. Lordganon 05:28, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

Why is this page still a proposal? I am pretty sure that it is all but canon by now. Macedon ShieldBow To Your Sensei. BOW TO YOUR SENSEI!!!Rome Shield

Review[]

I've ended up being the one spearheading a giant review and cleanup of the whole history of the British Isles. A big part of that is adjusting the Celtic Alliance to focus more on the member nations and make it seem like less of a unitary state. So the history of this London refugee community will be an important part of it. But I find some aspects of it to be implausible, in particular the idea that a sizable and stable city-state could develop so close to London. My thought is to have the Windsor refugee camp be the origin of this community; but the leaders there facilitated a migration into the North Wessex Downs region, and this community of refugees became the nucleus of a new state there. So the individual leaders remain the same, as does the overall course of the place's development.

In my opinion this will serve as a better foundation for a state that covers significant territory - something implied by canonical maps. It also is closer to the base of CA power - Windsor was always a pretty huge stretch. For a name, Wessex seems like a perfect choice, this being the heart of the modern Wessex region. New London strikes me as misleading for what this place is - it's not in any way a re-founding of London; and recently we have also made changes to cities with such names as New Byzantium, New Cairo, New Athens, New Rome, and New Berlin.

Open as always to discussion and criticism. False Dmitri (talk) 15:33, 26 April 2022 (UTC)

Probably I've had ten or so different ideas for what to call this state, but I think "the Kennet" is acceptable. Wessex will be the name of an expanded state that includes the Kennet and the Cotswolds. False Dmitri (talk) 14:20, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
