out of curiousity, based on the name (and the fact its still francophone), it would seem that Acadia was never conquered. Why did it join up with the NAC ? Has the kingdom of Canada ever tried to have it rejoined (politicaly or otherwise)--Marcpasquin 15:07, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I figure it was conquered. However, there was never the expulsion of the Acadians, so that it remained a primarily Francophone area, outside of Nova Scotia. Later on, the Francophone parts of Nova Scotia split off to form their own province, and revived that name. It therefore became part of the NAC when it was formed. - Nik 19:03, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)
