So out of curiosity, how did you come up with the borders and Nations for Pemhakamik?

- Hello Zwest97. Sorry for the really late reply. Anyway, to answer your question, the way I came up with the map was painstaking analyzation of pre-European (and slightly later) distributions of Native groups. Instead of groups like "plains Indians" and "woodland Indians", I looked through the language families and sub-families, and tried to get every major family represented (which was impossible on the West Coast, hence they are all within Pacifica. I realize that because of this, and because it was my first major map, it is the weakest of the bunch of maps I've made, and could be simplified (for example, some "Cree" areas being subsumed into a Canadian federation, and smoothing out Caddoa and Apache. The reason they weren't smoothed out is that there were some native groups living there that I didn't want to get caught in another country, but of course these borders changed over history, so they could have been changed. Varieta, or North Carolina, was made the southernmost state of New England, or the Union, simply because I'm from there and didn't want it to be a Confederate state. I hope this answered some of your questions. --Riction 09:13, October 9, 2009 (UTC)
