question[]

why would most of these people be in the same positions they are in OTL? russia gaining california could easily effect whether each of these peoples' ancestors immigrate to the region

i mean its likely that the families would still move to the USA but not to california because its russian, the US would probably remain an immigrant country if california was russian. also russian california would change all of american media because, well, no hollywood --Claus the Mighty (talk) 21:46, September 17, 2015 (UTC)

I appreciate you taking an interest in this topic, but you may rest assure that I've taken into account the butterflies of this timeline prior to canonizing a person as being "Alaskan." I've researched the ancestries and histories of each individual mentioned and concluded they would make likely (to not 100%) Alaksans.
My criteria has nothing to do with where an individual was born but based on their ancestry (among other issues). All of the individuals listed are of either Russian ancestry or those "acceptable by Russians" (such as Orthodox Christians, Slavs, and those peoples subjected by the Russian Empire). Not all "Russians" would find Alaska as their home, which is why I've taken the liberty to research each person on a case-by-case basis.
You are partially correct about California, but appear to be missing the big picture. While the United States as the "ideal" country to migrate to, it was hardly the only such area. Virtually all of the New World (plus Oceania and Southern Africa) were open to European immigration which continues to shape those nations. No doubt many would choose to be Americans, but it wouldn't be their only option. An example would be Mexico, which would see a population increase from OTL (thanks to its continued possession of California).
I'm slowly working out the details (you are more than welcome to read more about it), but rest assured that these individuals have been looked into. -- NuclearVacuum Russian America 22:58, September 17, 2015 (UTC)

okay, thanks. i didn't really look into this stuff besides knowing ana kasparian's ancestors would probs immigrate to alaska bc armenia and alaska were the same thing at one point. i was only including the new world countries when talking about the immigration part, although the usa would make the most sense for a lot of the non-slavs --Claus the Mighty (talk) 23:19, September 17, 2015 (UTC)

Proposal[]

May it be possible to keep the pages for ATL Alaskans and ATL, other nations seperate because this timeline is focused on Alaska, mostly I would like to see a unabated list of the people who would be Alaskan here.

Perhaps in the future. But for now, I would prefer to have a single article for all individuals. -- NuclearVacuum Russian America 16:47, February 27, 2017 (UTC)

Mikhail Tikhanov[]

Should definently be here, as an artist. In this timeline he could become one of the nation's spirtual founding fathers.
