Numbers[]
Combining these numbers with the numbers in the Navy and Air Force pages leaves you with around 600 thousand people in Superior's military. With a population of 1.4 million I think thats a bit much.--Oerwinde 08:58, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
- The population of Superior might end up being lower then that in the end. Mitro 14:54, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
For reference, the US Army has around 550k regular army 350k national guard, and 200k reserve. Thats with a population of almost 310 million. If you go by the same ratio, Superior would have about 2000 regular army, 1500 national guard, and 1000 reserve. Take into account the more militaristic tendencies of Superior, I could believe 20k regular army, 7k national guard, and 3k reserve. Plus obviously a larger conscription pool in the case of a major military action, but you wouldn't really report those numbers.--Oerwinde 10:13, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, and the Republican Guard would be separate. Possibly lower the size of the units to 500 men from 1000, which would leave you with 6k. So all in all a total army of 36k Which is still very large for the region.--Oerwinde 22:28, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Superior has campulsory conscription thats why the millitary is so big they need to have a large millitary because of the lawlessness in the region--Owen1983 16:32, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
- With a population of 1.4 million, this means about 700 thousand are women. Of the 700 thousand remaining about half are children or elderly leaving 350k elligible for military service. If women are elligible, that means about 600 to 700k of the population is elligible for military service. These numbers mean every person elligible for military service is in the military. Leaving no one to maintain industry and such. Which would lead to economic collapse. I would say 10% is the very maximum with conscription that could serve without crippling the nation economically. In WWII Canada sent 1 million troops to Europe, with a nation of 11 million that was a HUGE commitment of troops, and this was only achievable with conscription. You would only conscript those numbers in the event of a major military operation. The Saguenay war right now would probably count, so I could see a maximum number of 140k serving in the military during war time.--Oerwinde 18:09, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll dum it down a bit when I get around to it. Lahbas 00:39, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
- I think that is for the best. Comparing OTL nations with a similar population size to Superior, they usually have an active military of 4000 to 6000 soldiers. Reserves can range from 100k to 300k, depending on the laws of the specific nation. Mitro 18:41, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
Weapons[]
What weapons would the Republic of Superior Army use?Survivalist1997 23:06, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
Looking into it. Have a few ideas, but I need to hunt around a bit more. By my guess, something like 1980s equipment. Lordganon 00:11, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
By doing research, I concluded that the Republic of Superior Army is using the:
- M-60 machine gun
- M-16 assault rifle
- Browning M2 machine gun
- Colt M1911 pistol
- M-14 rifle

Sorry about the grammar, I meant to change the word concluded to believe. Survivalist1997 01:34, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
I sincerely doubt that. Only a tiny number of those would be inside Republican territory, and by and large, they would not have the ability to reproduce them or their ammo.
Only the Colt would have an real chance. Maybe the M2. But not the rest.
All you did was take the weapons they used otl and transfer them to the RSA. Not applicable, or research. But thank you for the effort.

Weapons[]
Can the weapons in the Republic of Superior Army be from sporting goods stores, or must they be from the old National Guard Armories? Survivalist1997 07:13, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
Of course there will be weapons from both. However, will they be in use by the army? Maybe one or two weapons from the stores, maybe one or two from the armories. But not all things. Remember, it has to be things that can be made in the area, and they need to have ample ones to use for design purposes. Early on, there would likely be a mixture - but by now, the weapons will be fairly uniform.

Bases[]
Could the Republic of Superior Army have a base at Camp Grayling, Michigan?Enclavehunter 01:02, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
I would imagine so. But not a major one, by any means. Being abandoned in 1983, it's going to be largely overgrown, etc. now. Lordganon 01:31, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
