Background[]
This is a follow-up to what I have been discussing for sometime as part of the work I have been doing in sketching out a future for the Middle East post Doomsday. My intention is for Saudi Arabia to lead the movement for a Gulf States Union, similiar to OTL European Union., which is an outgrowth of the Gulf Cooperation Council established in the early 1980s. Given the greatest damage would be economically to the Arabian region, I believe it would not be to hard to convince other nations in joining. As to the shooting down of an ICBM, it should be noted that since Saudi Arabia had several AWACs at the time, it would have given them an edge over other nations like Jordan or Isreal in detecting and targeting an incoming ICBM before it deployed its warheads. Kuwait intervention[]
following the 1984 terroist attacks in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia intervens moving into Kuwait with the request of the Kuwaiti government to prevent more terrorist attacks and growing fears of a Iranian take over of Kuwait. This could lead to a short insurgency against Saudi and Kuwaiti forces with them getting rid of Shi'a Islamist groups.
Jordian intervention []
Following DD, the Saudi Governemnt sends troops into Jordan to help maintian King Hussien Tala's rule.

Economy[]
Does anybody think that lost of international imports would make Saudi Arabia want to try to industrialize there economy.
