Strange choice, Yank, but it might just work! So these folk didn't notice the bombs going off on the horizon, or the abrupt end to radio transmissions? I guess when the welfare office closed down, or the 5th of the month arrived and there weren't any checks in the mail, they took notice.

May I suggest a motor-home in the place of the bear on the flag?  :-)

No? Maybe a coyote? Now that would be just about right! SouthWriter 03:55, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Could you provide an example of both designs of flag (coyote and motor home). I'm thinking, because the area is going to get much more rainfall than usual, the Slab Citizens could start using a primitive form of subsistance agriculture to support themselves. And scavaging from abandoned towns (at least at first).

Salton Raiders[]

I believe that there probably was an attempt to form a government in El Centro or some other city in the Imperial Valley. But since Slab City is the only real survivor state in the area, I guess all the other attempts to from a provincial government soon wound down into anarchy. Most of the citizens of those failed states probably died or fled to Slab City or Mexico. There may be a few people left in El Centro or Brawley. Those people are probably a gang of raiders who occasionally try to attack Slab City. I would name them the Salton Raiders after the Salton Sea.Goldwind1 00:35, March 25, 2012 (UTC)

I believe that the Slab Citizens would weather the raider attacks pretty well. Keep in mind I effectively transformed what was a normal trailer part into a ramshackle fort, like Megaton in Fallout 3.

El Centro would have been in Mexico by the end of the next day. The other would have had to do so, too, or die.

Basically, while they might have sources of water, somehow, they will starve.

Any attempt to do that in the area, Gold, would have been extremely futile.

Yank's got it, more or less, too.
