What about North Dakota? According to the original article and the maps made from it, the Lakota are mostly west and south of the Missouri River. The area of North Dakota would be very sparsely populated and may indeed have had refugees from the Lakota war as well. What happened to Pierre now?[]
There's been evacuation of Pierre but it did not seem to have been affected by an actual destruction and the fallout must have been gone within some weeks-years. So why wasn't it repopulated or even, reput as the capital of the state?
