Something useful [Colonial policy of a victorious Spanish republic (alternatehistory.com)] --JorgeGG (talk) 04:50, August 16, 2019 (UTC)
- In my opinion, Trotytism would keep its anti-colonial and anti-imperialist stance and the right of national liberation. However it would campaign and enact (if in power) for full political and social rights of the inhabitants of the colonies or at least the same ones the citizens of the colonial power have. But, I think it would be difficult for Trotskyists to come in terms with local nationalists in the colonies and their capitalists tendencies or economic dependency that would perhaps gladly embrace in exchange for political autonomy. Besides it would mean a serious turnaround in who is the revolutionary agent, workers or peasants (as in Maoism versus Leninism in OTL), in the colonies. Though, local alliances for a national liberation or revolution would be considered. Maybe an ideological break rise between those that favor immediate independence and others that advocate self rule within a colonial empire. --JorgeGG (talk) 19:29, August 23, 2019 (UTC)
- Although, Spain will just follow the path of France in incorporating its overseas territories (TOM and DOM). Hint the republicans winning the Civil War does not lead to a socialist state.--JorgeGG (talk) 23:41, August 23, 2019 (UTC)
