Alternative History

This really is an interesting concept - I'm surprised it hasn't received more attention from the wiki overall. I was intrigued by Anglia and I was wondering if Scotland was a part of the nation or if it managed to remain independent? I also was curious as to why the nation would only have the English flag as the flag of the whole nation rather than a sort of combined flag that came into existance in OTL.  Imp (Say Hi?!) 01:08, January 30, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, it's good to see someone reading it. Overall, the plan for Anglia was that France would be significantly more weakened in the Hundred Years' War, enabling England to retain its continental territories and thus its connection to French culture, and for France to be swallowed between Burgundy, England and Occitan rebels in the south. My plan for Scotland is to have it weakened by civil war and its south be annexed by England, but for the Gaelic north to remain independent and ultimately end up with stronger ties to Ireland and Scandinavia than its southern neighbour. I would like to start off by saying that this is an amazing project and that i absolutely love it. Just got a few comments. 1. I don't quite understand why the Swedes and Danes did not attempt a christianization of Livonia? I guess it's just more trouble than it's worth for the swedes?

2. Estonians (They are called Livonians here for some reason. Livonians are a seperate ethnic group, still Finnic but they speak a different language) are not Baltic, they are Finnic (closely related to the Finns).

3. If the Estonians were to get their own nation state this early in, I doubt they would still like to be referred to as Estonians or Estlandics or Livonians. Since Estonian and Estlandic are terms made by the Germans mainly. I bet they would call their country, language and people by its native names. They would call their country, Estonia, Maavald (Literal translation: Land Parish or Native Land). They would call themselves, the Estonians, Maarahvas (Literal translation: Land Folk or Native Folk). And they would call their language, Estonian, Maakeel (Literal translation: Land Language or Native tongue). The pagan religion would be called Maausk (You can probably guess what the translation is by now.)

Anyways, I beg of you to continue this story. It is an extremely interesting idea. Metslane 20:30, January 20, 2023 (EET)
