This is one of the most interresting TL plots on the wiki! It is a shame that the good work is not kept up. That's why I ask you to let me develop this one. [[User:Andreas.martonosy|Andreas.martonosy]] ([[User talk:Andreas.martonosy|talk]]) 16:20, August 8, 2015 (UTC)

I just realized-there's a natural Panama Canal! That could radically (and I stress that) change European colonialism. I'll be following this TL. :) Mr.Xeight 06:10, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

The most important thing that is going to change European Colonialism is the natives are much more formidable. From what I've read, the most common rituals in native religion deal with protection, healing, and weather. While they won't be able to control the weather, the addition of magic will give shamans limited healing and abjurative abilities, so disease won't annihilate populations and they will be much harder to kill in battle. I actually have a Haida empire planned in the pacific northwest after reading how they were basically Vikings, and adopted modern techniques for battle and such quite readily (even mounting captured swivel-guns on their war canoes). The Spanish are going to take a lot longer subduing the Maya and Aztecs, allowing others to establish themselves in the area, and the Inca will remain independent for quite a while.Oerwinde 07:42, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
