How did it come to incorporate French and Spanish possessions? Were they conquered by Britain at some point? -- Nik 23:47, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Well my theory is there wouldn't have been widespread colonisation of North America without the monarchy. In the ATL, Republican Britain has to spend a lot more time fighting its own fires and putting down rebellions, especially the Scots and Irish, as well as fighting the Catholics in Europe mercilessly (Cromwell hated Catholics, remember) so the other colonial powers had much more development in North America and when the UAP was formed they came on board. Canada[]
Upper and lower Canada were division of what was previously the province of quebec and before the conquest, the french province of Canada. The separation itself came about after british loyalists immigrated to the province after the american revolution.
All that to say that either you might want to change some names or have some sort of alternate explanation.--Marcpasquin 01:08, 15 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Just maybe to help you find replacement names, what were the territories you intended them to cover ?--Marcpasquin 23:19, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)
