US Pacific territories

What's the situation in Hawaii? The timeline suggested that it was still a funcitoning society that kept in contact with Australia; if it was hit on Doomsday, probably the islands other than O'ahu would be damaged but OK. Is Hawaii now a part of this Commonwealth? What about the other US territories: Guam and eastern Samoa? And when I look at Wikipedia, the US Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands still existed in September 1986 and included Micronesia (divided into 4 districts), the Northern Marianas, the Marshall Islands, and Palau. Were they attacked? Did the provisional US government remain in contact with them?

interesting point. Somehow this will be integrated asap.

The general situation as I suggest it: Guam would be destroyed due to military importance, if not by USSR, then by China avoiding any base close to Taiwan. American Samoa and Marshal Islands might easily survive due to relative near to Australia, NZ and some help might reach them in time. Micronesia, Northern Marianas and Palau might survive somehow (not more than a few villages i think) but not as a "state" due to famine and not of high interest of any surviving nation to be claimed.

Hawaii... would be somehow associated if not integrated in either the Commonwealth or the MSP on the U.S. West Coast. But ANZ commonwealth integration due to a better future potential would be probable. Hawaii would be strategically virtually important, especially militarily.

I saw that this is an "open timeline"-- how open? Could I put something together on Hawaii? Benkarnell 18:18, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Ok. This is not really "my" timeline as I didnt start it in the first place. Of course you can fill in if you want. the degree of open? :) well. i will revise/harmonize and adjust things in detail to keep everything on context and logical. But that's it...

Ah, and no aliens, timetravel and too unrealistic technical things of course :P just keep that in mind. Will put some details on my ideas concerning this somewhere here. -- Xi'Reney 18:40, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Darn, I was going to have the Hawaiian gods bestow the people with spaceships that allow them to go back in time and prevent the war. C'est la vie. :P Benkarnell 19:20, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Nordic Union

I have updated the page for the Nordic Union. It has not the name in Norwegian and Icelandic, and I have as well added some politicians. The head of the union is the head of state of each country (President Vigdís Finnbogadóttir of Iceland and King Harald V of Norway). In case of war, the government and royal family of Norway would have been evacuated before Oslo would have been hit by a nuclear weapon, and I think Harald V would have followed Olav as king, as he in OTL suffered a great trauma during the outbreak of the first Gulf War January 17, 1991. He collapsed during the day and died in the evening. His son claimed that Olav relived the events of the Second World War, which he himself had experienced (the Nazi occupation of Norway), and really believed that the transmitted messages from the new war foreboded World War III.

A symbol is also difficult, but an idea could be this:

Nordic Union Logo

You can change whatever you like, but the page now has both Norwegian and Icelandic politicians.

I dont know if this is the right place toi say that, but, I think ours articles must/should be more close to List of sovereign states in 1983, in real world wikipedia, especialy when we talk about not nuked countries, they can not just disapier--Fero 03:23, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

More on NU

Based on the Adder's page, ISTM that the Nordic Union member states should be listed separately, with separate flags. The NU seems like more of a tighter version of the Nordic Council than a bona fide country. Benkarnell 22:43, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Sounds fine to me, but how does that go along with the Atlantic Defense Community? The Nordic Union is a member, so does that mean all individual nations are members or does the Union represent them equally? Mitro 22:45, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
The page says that they "cooperate in foreign politics", I think therefore there would be one foreign relations office for the Union, so the Union as a whole would be a member. DarthEinstein 00:26, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

just to say if Miami, New York and Washintong DC was nuked in 1983, there is not a reason to speak english in Puerto Rico in 2009, or just in not sow used, is just a minor languaje in Puerto rico 2009, like in Union Americana (Argentina) or Cyprus, englsih is not The languaje of Japan and is not The languaje of Puerto Rico. And we must add Haiti--Fero 22:54, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

There are 82,000 speakers in Puerto Rico out of the 4,000,000 that live there. Don't believe me; go to [1] Mr.Xeight 23:01, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Sorry I removed Haiti, that was an accident. Puerto Rico, however, will most likely be the destination for American refugees and it will probably be under some sort of APA control until 1995, all suggesting that English would still have an official status. Mitro 23:03, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

are 82.000 speakes in our world because english is a good commercial languaje, but in DD1983, 25 years without USA who speak english in Puerto rico? not sow many to be in the list like a national languaje, many italians live or was live in USA but we never say "in USA is speaked english and italian". many cubans come to Puerto Rico. and please dont write here when i am writing in this, not same time please, hahahaha--Fero 23:11, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

"In USA is speaked english and italian" Yes we do. There is no official language of the US, so I could say "In the United States of American Yoruba, Greek, Japanese, and English are languages you can find within the country". Even now those 82,000 people could be US refugees, the US is in bad straits and any surviving Floridians would no doubt illegally sail to Cuba in an ironic twist of fate and some might even island to Puerto Rico. Mr.Xeight 23:18, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

@Mitro - I really like the tables or charts you've been making. Could we add a "head(s) of state" column? Or would that just be too much clutter? Benkarnell 16:59, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

I could try. I'll experiment on one of them later and then message this talk page when I'm finished. Mitro 19:19, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Hint: maybe we should mark the proposal/canon/stub state on this page as well!! Mitro can you insert a column for that?? Or we should use some symbols to mark the country pages.!! Like a traffic light status or sth. --Xi'Reney 20:18, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
I think the problm with adding a heads of state column is that not all of these articles list one. Mitro 01:43, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Idea for a new country

With widespread anarchy in China, don't you think that Tibet would seize the moment to create an independant Tibetan state? DarthEinstein 01:59, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

I would rather like to see that happen; though with Lhasa bombed there might be a problem. One of the major problems is when China took over they began a breeding out program within Tibet and now the Han Chinese and the majority. If and when the Tibetans finally routed these Chinese out, there would of course be casualties; the population would now be smaller than ever. Mr.Xeight 02:06, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

The Nordic Union

I'm of the opinion that the Nordic Union is more like the EU and the members are still sovereign nations. I think the best thing to do would be to give them each their own article and put the Nordic Union in the organization column. Mitro 01:43, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, this is a link to articles, not neccesarily a list of countries, and there will probably always be just one NU article. It's a little tighter an organization than the EU, since it seems to have a combined military and a single military policy - why wouldn't it, since only Norway seems to have anything resembling a decent armed forces. Benkarnell 02:25, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Population in the table

i think add population numbers in the countries table is good, how many you are is a basic data, not in a exactly number but talk about millons, 33.000.000 or 2.000.000, is not the same, with that our world will be sow more realist, i think--Fero 23:16, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

List of countries by past and future population, wikipedia--Fero 03:47, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

South africa and the "Deletion mark" - sorry!

Sorry that was me, I did not recognize the mentioned RZA member countries as such. Si the "lock" remark is unnecessary as it was me. --Xi'Reney 18:51, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

May you make a Kingdom of Egypt? I mean, maybe you could take it back to Pharaoh ages and divided in South Egypt (Capital: umm... New Thebes?) and North Egypt (Capital... New Cairo?) -- 02:37, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

Also, Southern Germany. In your maps, no southeastern and just 2 or 3 southern German cities. If they are in the Alpine Confederation, may you put a map? -- 02:47, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

Egypt has a page see Egypt page it has claims on land south of the former Egyptian border into former Sudan and parts of forer Libya so i don't think a new Pharaoh would be possible--Smoggy80 18:22, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

Middle East

Shouldn't the Middle Eastern nations be listed along with the Asian ones, as it is technically the same continent? --DarthEinstein 17:47, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

We need to update this map, at least as far as North America and the Soviet Union go. I haven't been keeping up on other areas but those two are definitely out of date. I'm not qualified to fiddle with it, I would wind up using Paint...--Loughery111 18:29, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

I'm on it right now, making a completely new map. I'm actually planning on releasing the semi-final version today, or maybe tomorrow. --DarthEinstein 22:22, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

North American Union

On the chart of nations, I see two problems with the North American Union. First, it is treated both as a nation (along side such tiny "nations" as "New Montgomery") and an organization (Utah, a nation, is listed as a member). Second, it's member nations are treated as sub-ordinate divisions instead of along side other smaller entities that have hardly any claim to be "nations."

I think that the NAU, as it is expanding, should be listed as an organization, with the individual nations taking their place along side the other hations in the chart. SouthWriter 01:34, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I have been meaning to do that, just never got around to it. I'll do it tomorrow when I get the chance. Mitro 02:48, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

The World Map

I just took a close look at the world map on this page. It is somewhat out of date. I distinctly remember working on straightening it
World map mar 10
out a few months ago. Hey, I went looking and I found this --

It's not up to date either, but it was an attempt. I remember the new map being added to one of the pages. But it seems to have not been put here, on the "main" page. SouthWriter 03:33, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

New sections

Some of the tables are getting pretty long. I'm wondering if we should further divide some continents into regions. Mitro 14:59, July 30, 2010 (UTC)

Can I create my own country and put it on this list.

Nasirgermain (talk) 23:07, February 11, 2014 (UTC)Nasir Germain

Two things, Nasir.  You probably needed to add a subject for your question.  Second, the answer to your question is NO.  This chart is only for nations that have passed the proposal process.  if you have an idea for a country, post it in the proposals and the group will evaluate it for inclusion.  SouthWriter (talk) 19:56, February 13, 2014 (UTC)

Where is the proposal page and how long will the process take? 20:49, February 13, 2014 (UTC)Nasir Germain

Click on this link: "Proposal Page "   That will get you to the section of the Main talk page where you can edit to place your proposal in play,.  You must remember to log in so your username will be showing.   Go to the Editorial Guidelines for more instructions. As you will see for many "current proposals" the process can go for a long time without resolution.  If your article is good, it might be accepted quickly.  If not, it might be ruled as "obsolete" or even marked for "deletion."

This is a community project, so it is not easy to add just any article.  Think of it like it was Wikipedia.  If you would like to create a time line, however, it would be yours to do with as you wanted.  If it is too improbable it might be marked ASB ("Alient Space Bat "), but otherwise it will be left alone.  Read the guidelines for the main page.of the wiki for further info. Thanks for your interest.  SouthWriter (talk) 23:44, February 13, 2014 (UTC)

Addition to the list

I'd like my country Extremadura to be included on this list. It is canon, btw. Andreas.martonosy (talk) 17:48, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
