Alternative History

I really, really like this! I'm going to use it, as well. :) Louisiannan 01:38, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Could we add an "Organizations" section to the template? As in, for the UN or equivalent? Louisiannan 02:21, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
--Carlos Th (talk) 12:20, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Could we also add annexation so we can use this template for those nations that were subjugated at some point in their history (regardless of current status?) Louisiannan 17:50, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Ready. Values added as {{{annex_to}}} and {{{annex_date}}}.

How do I copy the nation template so I can use it?
Alterman09 13:12, August 13, 2011

Go down on the page to "syntax" and copy that section to the article. Fill out as needed from there. Lordganon 17:42, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

Recent changes by NuclearVacuum

Hello everybody. I just wanted to explain myself for my recent edits to the template. I move the English translation to the top of the page (which is standard on Wikipedia). I removed the permanent italicization of English, since only foreign words should be italicized. I left it optional for manual addition.

The biggest change is that names under English are smaller than English. I was inspired by the template used on Wikipedia for former nations, which has the native name smaller than the English translation. This size change does happen if you only use {{{name}}}, only if you use {{{name}}} and {{{name_en}}} at the same time. Hope you like the changes. If not, then I will revert them all. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 22:24, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

How does this function work? I tried typing in no_CoA, no, yes, and random things in an attempt to get the default CoA image to disappear, but it isn't working. How does it work? LurkerLordB (Talk) 00:53, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

I think the only way to do it is to put the image in manually. Past that, try looking around at some nation articles, because I know that there is some with it. Lordganon 07:08, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

Former state

How can I put an arrow to a former state of a nation and its flag, like in this wikipedia article? -TheMaster001 10:52, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

There's Template:Former country this template you can use. Works in a similar way, but without the arrow.

Or if not, then there is some coding you can copy from the Federal State of Austria (Split) article, like copy all the template stuff and put it on your nation page.

Here is the base coding (from the page mentioned above) if you want it:

{| border=1 align=right cellpadding=4 cellspacing=0 width=300 style="margin: 0 0 1em 1em; background: #f9f9f9; border: 1px #aaaaaa solid; border-collapse: collapse; font-size: 95%;" |+ |- |align="left" |<---- 1934 |align="right" |1938 ----> |- |'''Timeline''' || |- |'''[[OTL]] equivalent || |- |colspan=2 align=center| |- |colspan=2 align=center| |- |'''Capital''' || |- |'''Official Language''' || |- |'''Government''' || |- |'''Religion''' || |- |'''Presidents''' || |- |'''Established''' || |- |'''Disestablishment''' || |} -Kogasa Symbol of Natori, Miyagi.png宮城県.pngFlag of Japan.svg 2012年9月13日 20:03:04 (JST)

Thanks ;) --TheMaster001 (talk) 13:50, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

Which templates does this template depend upon?

What templates are this template based on? I would like to use this template on another wiki. Maximo Roboto (talk) 09:19, November 21, 2012 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I believe that those who could answer that have all left the wiki. Lordganon (talk) 09:29, November 21, 2012 (UTC)

So this is basically a regressed far future society, where all of the ancient civilizations that built advanced technologies is gone, leaving the survivors to look in marvel at the toys they can barely use but no longer maintain. -Maximo Roboto (talk) 17:18, November 21, 2012 (UTC)

We have other templates as complex, or even more so, than this one. And I'm sure that several of our users could figure it out. But the authors have indeed moved on. Lordganon (talk) 08:09, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

Head of State

I would also like to add the heads of state, etc. like in wikipedia. IstocnoSarajevo (talk) 02:05, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

What do you mean? There is syntax in here for heads of state. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 17:14, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Copy to sandbox wiki

I am currently having a Sandbox wiki elsewhere, and I'm just wondering if I can copy this template over there?

Need help and permission.

Hi, I'm from Future Wikia, I want to make an article about nation in there but I need a template. I don't discover exsiting templates about nation there. I remember that many good articles in Althistory Wiki, include about nations so I go there. I need a permission to copy the template. Thanks. Hexarafi (talk) 04:42, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

Copying Tempate

Hello, my fellow AltHistory Wikists. I'm trying to find a decent template for nations on Fandoms (because mine is horrid), and I was wondering if I could use it. Note:I'm taking silence as yes, based upon my other observations on the talk page.

So, I've copied it, and will delete if asked. However, may I ask, why is it not working? It simply turns into a hodgepodge. Here is a link, I do hope someone can help me!

Second CoG

I would like to request the ability to have second CoG jus like how you can have a second HoS, there are examples of countries temporarily and sometimes permanently having two roles such as Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.
