During the Treaty of Paris of 1783, Benjamin Franklin wanted Canada to join the newly formed United States. IOTL, the offer was rejected, but what if Canada did join the young United States after the war? And what if the United States was more successful in the wars it was involved with than IOTL?
The current year is 2024, over 240 years after the Treaty of Paris 1783. The United States joined the Central powers in WW1, making them win the war, but because of a French communist revolution and the discovery of Germany causing the Mexican invasion of the US they joined on the side of the Allies in WW2. A late Soviet Revolution caused the USSR and Warsaw Pact to be around today. The North Tower collapses in 1993, the IRA is the biggest enemy of the world, and the Nipah Virus expands worldwide.

1) Ask in discussion page for any changes or ideas and think realistically (new countries not created from any current nation, islands or continents, or unrealistic wars)
Also, please remember that the POD is in 1783. This is a situation formed from ASB regulations. If you get identified as an ASB you'll get caught and banned.
2) Make and finish at least one Nation or page after adding your name to the collaborator list.
3) Add any appropriate realistic flag (for example, no modern flag for a nation that doesn’t exist ITTL).
4) No vandalism.
5) Have Fun! Remember, this is a fun alt history and the collaborators hope you like your time here.
Types of POD[]
The American Empire has three main types of PoDs, ranked by their scope and named after water terminology:
- Splashes: Fairly large PoDs that alter a decent chunk of the world. The timeline's main PoD, i.e. The US winning the Battle of Quebec, is such an example. Other generic examples include "What if France won the Seven Years' War?", "What if Kaiser Frederick III didn't die in 1888 and allied Germany with Britain?", "What if the Soviet Union didn't collapse?", and so on and forth.
- Ripples: Smaller PoDs that only really affect a single country internally. At most, effects might be felt in some neighbouring countries, but never grand enough to cause radical changes. For example, Pedro II of Brazil having a surviving son in 1889, leading to the continued survival of monarchy in Brazil.
- Droplets: PoDs that are so insanely small, you would be hard-pressed to even notice them if you're not going out of your way to do so. Things such as minor changes to pop culture or political ideology, or some people having different lives than in OTL
Splashes may not precede the main PoD on December 31, 1776 (US victory in Quebec), as the point of this timeline is and remains world if the US annexed British Quebec (Canada) after the Revolution
Differences from OTL[]
General[]
- The Battle of Quebec ends in a British defeat, allowing the Canadian colonies to rebel as well.
- Philadelphia remains the capital, with Washington DC being converted to a normal city shared by Virginia and Maryland.
- The Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy is reestablished as an neutral nation, eventually uniting with the Kingdom of Sardinia.
- John Brown's Slave Rebellion succeeded, leading to dozens of rebellions in the South before and during the civil war.
- Ulysses S. Grant goes with his wife and Abe Lincoln and his wife to Ford Theater, leading to Booth's assassination failing.
- The French intervention in Mexico succeeds, leading to the US joining the Central Powers in the Great War after an Mexican invasion, but switches sides after finding out it was a plot by Germany to distract the US.
- The USSR was established in 1921 and survived until late 2001.
- Austria-Hungary survived until 2013, where it collapsed into multiple nations after Political tension between Hungary and Austria boils over.
- The Ottomans survive until 2017 under a rump state when a civil war collapses the country.
Cultural[]
- The 27 Club has several different people, with some added and other never having their death
- Sony Entertainment shares the rights to all marvel properties along with Spider-Man with Disney, causing The MCU to be established with 2000's X-Men and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, with the Fantastic Four and 2003 Hulk (but still recasted) lasting longer, and the characters are featured in the Avengers movies.
- The Nintendo-Sony split never happens, allowing a mix between OTL's N64 and PS1 to release in 1994.
- Speaking of Nintendo, Rare would never end their deal with Nintendo, and Nintendo would fully buy the company.
- Also, many PlayStation franchises would be owned by Nintendo, and so PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale would be a Super Smash Bros. game.
- The Five Nights at Freddy's series would have many changes:
- The series would be separated into four series: the Core/Mainline series: Consisting of Five Nights at Freddy's, Five Nights at Freddy's 2, Five Nights at Freddy's 3, Five Nights at Freddy's 4, and fifth and sixth entries; the Secondary series: Consisting of Sister Location, Security Breach, and Secrets of the Mimic; the Ultimate series: Consisting of Ultimate Custom Night 1 & 2; and the FNAF World series: Consisting of FNAF World and FNAF Heroes; with spin-off games like Into the Pit.
- Five Nights at Freddy's V would be the fifth mainline entry, and would include several changes to the series:
- The series would shift to a third-person style with an action-horror style.
- the Toy animatronics would return, being withered, along with the Twisted Ones making their game debut.
- The February 26th Twin Towers attack leads to the 1 WTC and 5 WTC to collapse.
- Y2K happens in a minor way, causing some panic to happen.
- Fox would keep it's deal with Jim Davis to make Garfield media, which includes a hugely successful trilogy of 3 films, a theme park ride, two video games, etc.
- Hasbro Studios would not shut down in 2020, nor would it be renamed to AllSpark, as they would produce the extremely successful Hasbro Cinematic Universe. However, they would still make TV shows today like IOTL.
- The Hub would not rename to Discovery Family, and several canceled Hasbro shows including Aquabats and Dan Vs. would continue.
- Hasbro would also keep its control of the network, and Viacom would own 40% of the Hub.
- The first HCU film to use the Hasbro Studios logo would be Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009
- The Hub would not rename to Discovery Family, and several canceled Hasbro shows including Aquabats and Dan Vs. would continue.
Food and beverages[]
- French Fries would be credited as being invented by Belgium after disputes mounted in 1855, thus it's US name would just be fries instead of French Fries.
- Food such as Sauerkraut are more popular internationally due to German victory in WW1
- McDonald's founders Richard and Maurice McDonald aren't forgotten by Ray Kroc after he attempted to buy them out when Mac had a diabetic shock in 1961, and the three collaborate together. They still grow their corporation yet slower than OTL, but still have the same amount of restuarants as OTL.
- Due to this slower yet more successful growth, McDonaldland and it's characters are kept and still celebrated by fans of the restaurant
- Additionally, the Film Super Size Me was criticized for inaccuracies, due to researchers noting that eating McDonalds 3 times every day isn't reliable as most people don't eat that much on average. Thus, research was made and release by Harvard as Don't Super Size me in 2009.
- After the Mad Cow Disease Crisis of the 1990s, the FDA and CDC collaborated to strengthen Food regulation standers and with help from the UNTO created the Global Food and Medical Administration (GFMA)

Interstellar[]
- The Skylab station became the first Space Station in history.
- The Apollo project lasts until 1981, in which the program is replaced by the Artemis project in 1982 and the Thoth project in 2001.
- A joint Soviet-American mission to Mars named Project Aries is launched in 1998 and succeeds in 1999 with the first men and women landing on Mars.
