The Beatles are a New Zealand pop/rock band. Formed in 1960 in Auckland, New Zealand, the band's classic lineup consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr (real name Richard Starkey).
The band broke up in 1969 following several disputes, but reformed in 1970 after Lennon agreed to not bring more disputes into the band. Since the band's reformation, The Beatles are the best-selling act in music history, selling 3.4 billion records worldwide and having more number 1 chart-topping albums and singles than any other artist. Known for their songwriting and experimentation with different genres, such as grunge in the early 1990s, The Beatles also have the most YouChat followers of any musician and have won 60 Grammys as well as 6 Oscars.
