Alternative History
Jacobites at St. Helens Hey, Johnnie Cope, are ye wauking yet?

Very soon, a new version of The Fork in Time will emerge because some things surrounding it, especially regarding the now-obsoleted Common European Draca, got a bit... complex.

The Fork in Time logo

Inspired by the now-partially outdated logo of What a Wonderful Day, which merged with two unnamed timelines to form TTL! (Credit goes to the makers of Sly Cooper and the steampunk hat in this logo, by the way!)

For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: It might have been!

John Greenleaf Whittier, Maud Muller (1856; said IOTL)

Not to be confused with Alternate Way, Alternatively, Alternity, Differently, Differently II, Differently: Done Differently, Fantasy, Fantasy Political Simulation Game, Fantasy Species Were Real!, Fantasy World, The Flames of Time, Many Wonderful Things, The times they are a changin, Third Time's the Charm, or Time of Many Choices.

The Fork in Time, also known as either TFiT or TFiTTL for short, is a collaborative half-normal half-ASB alternate timeline with absurdist and somewhat steampunk characteristics a la Misconceived Malaproper Mania and many points of divergence (PoDs) stretching from antiquity all the way to today. It is inspired by various other alternate timelines across the Alternate History Wiki such as Differently, An Honorable Retelling, Just another timeline, What a Wonderful World, Parallelity of Parallelities, 1983: Doomsday, Aztec Empire, Ceibos, Tulips, & Revolution, Stuff That Memes Are Made Of, The Kalmar Union, Pharaonic Survival, and much more. Currently, you are still free to contribute as long as you ask first and follow the rules below, in addition to adhering to TTL's editorial guidelines. By the way, its very own Discord server can be found here.

WARNING: TTL won't be like "climbing AH's Mount Everest" or "diving into AH's Marianas Trench", but more like "taking the long, long way to AH's Tipperary."

Rules[]

  • Please remain consistent within TTL, regardless of how much the PoDs and their resulting changes to history were bound to happen IOTL.
    • Also, please do thorough research on TTL before making new articles for it.
    • You are allowed to add as many fake people (i.e. people who lived ITTL that were never born IOTL) as you wish, but they must make sense within TTL.
  • Please do not insert alternate continents, geographies, or climates unless they're purely artificial, despite The Fork in Time being a half-normal half-ASB timeline. However, as long as such articles aren't nonsensical or too unrealistic even for TTL, alternate fauna and flora is permitted. (Only Addycakes2, TTL's creator, may break this rule, however, but everyone else must adhere to what she has established afterwards.)
    • Also, please do not insert clichés (such as "(Almost) Nothing ever happens in South America" or "The Axis Powers win World War II/III") or anything considered way too unrealistic into TTL unless necessary and/or used in a way nobody else thought up before.
  • Please do not discriminate against anyone in any way or form; such behavior will be reported immediately and may even lead to a ban from TTL.
    • Also, please do not edit nor steal anything from this timeline without its creator's permission. Doing so will result in a strike, and three strikes means that you will be blocked from it.

Contributors[]

Feel free to ask if you want to contribute to TTL!
