The Four Day War (also known as the 4 Day War and War of 4 Days) was a major conflict between the Atlains and the Latens. This war ended with the Atlains winning the war and establishing the First Atlantian Empire. The war was primarily fought with primitive weapons such as spears and swords.
Context[]
Historians are not certain of when either of the warring nations were created. However, they do believe that they have clashed in the past. The Atlains and the Latens had become the sole superpowers of Atlantis. The reason for this was that both nations had conquered other kingdoms and states. They also had allies who were more than willing to unite with either country. This ultimately led to the Atlains and Latens occupying one-half of the continent. Their confrontation would lead to war.
War[]
Day 0:[]
The first move was made by the Atlains. They would use their army of 200 soldiers to march into and invade the capital of the Latens. They had better armour, weapons, and more skill.
Day 1:[]
The Atlains started their march on the capital. Three men died on the way due to dehydration. Once the army arrived, an ultimatum was given: "Join the Atlains or die resisting". The Latens were given five hours to decide.
Hour 1- No direct decision was made.
Hour 2- Nothing is said.
Hour 3- A plea is given, asking for a peaceful solution. It is denied.
Hour 4- The Latens's defenses are increased and archers are ordered to guard the walls.
Hour 5- A definitive "die resisting" is the answer.
Day 2:[]
The Atlains charge the capital's wall and attempt to break it down. However, this fails because of the archers standing by. 13 soldiers are killed and a retreat is sounded. The Latens revel in their victory. However, that victory would be short-lived. Rocks were thrown at the Laten archers. Although this doesn't hurt them, it keeps them pinned down in one position, unable to shoot. One-half (92) of the remaining army (184 men) charges to the wall's gate and destroy it.
Day 3:[]
The 92 men who charged into the gate are now inside of the capital. They slaughter anybody who dares to fight them. This results in deaths of 109 people: 11 soldiers and 98 civilians. Emperor Tzukke is captured and forced to watch the public execution of 132 other civilians. He is then surrenders after witnessing the death of the only child killed in the war. (An unnamed 13-year-old girl).
Day 4: []
The Latens officially surrender.
Day 5:[]
Laten territory is all ceded to the Atlains.
The Laten Purge[]
After the Siege of The Walls, a total of 241 Laten people were killed. All 109 soldiers were killed in battle and an additional 132 civilians were murdered by the Atlains. All records of this atrocity were kept top secret by the Atlain government (and later the government of the First Atlantian Empire).
Establishment of Atlantis[]
Once news of the purge reached the rest of The Latens, they surrendered, knowing that it could happen again. One day after the war had officially ended, the Atlains renamed their country Atlantis in honour of the continent. Although the war was over, the battles were not. Rebels and revolutionists alike fought for independence against the Atlains. Not wanting to give more reasons for a full-on civil war, the Atlantian government promised the populace that they would go on a search for new lands to occupy.
