The Hejazi Wars (1919-1940)[]

The Saudi conquest of Hejaz or the Second Saudi-Hashemite War, also known as the Hejaz-Nejd War, was a campaign engaged by Saudi Sultan Abdulaziz Ibn Saud to take over the Hashemite Kingdom of Hejaz in 1919–1940, ending with a cease-fire.

Background[]

In 1919, Saudi Arabia had lost a war to the Rashid dynasty up North, The compensate for this lost, King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud declared war on Hejaz, The whole world will be dragged into this war such as:

The Saudi Invasion of Hejaz[]

On August 29, 1919, Ibn-Saud began his military campaign against Hejaz by advancing towards Taif. the 101st Hejazi Mecca unit, which was prized as Hejaz's special guard, fought off the Saudi tribesmen with modern British guns and artillery. After a few shoot outs and bullet exchanges, the inadequately equipped and trained Saudi tribesmen panicked and fled to Southern Taif and dug up unfavourable defensive positions in the mountains. The 4th Armoured Taif Brigade was then called to reassure Hejazi dominance in Taif, The 4th Armoured brigade consisted of 60 Vickers A1E1 and a few Mark VIII tanks. The 4th and 101st (Hejazi) then counter attacked Saudi forces in Southern Taif, the initial battle killed 3,000 Saudi men and 498 Hejazi soldiers. The Saudis had managed to push back the Hejazi forces away from their positions but struggled to reorganise and 300 Ikwan soldiers reportedly gave up and fled the battlefield. 

The Hejazi's then capitalised on this and secured key positions along with the city, this failure booted the Saudi invasion into Taif. The Hejazi's then pushed the
