The Magocracy was a period in British history between 1656 and 1748 where the United Kingdom of British Isles was ruled by the Archmage and council of Archons of the British Order of Magi. It began when the council of Archons seized control of the Kingdom in order to end two years of fierce civil war. It ended when Archmage Alwyn Rhys declared himself king, beginning the Rhys dynasty of British monarchs that continues to this day.
