Thomas Jenkins (born February 9, 1992), better known as The Odd Psychiatrist, is a German-Columbian psychiatrist, who covers psychiatry and historical topics on his Screeno channel. He is considered one of the best educational Screeners and the most popular. He usually adds some humor (mostly dry humor) to his videos

Early life[]

Thomas Winslow Jenkins was born on February 9, 1987 to Lewis Brandt and Laura Brandt (née Jenkins), his family was quite wealthy, with his paternal great great grandfather being one of the most wealthy men in The United States during the 1880s. He was known by peers to be very quiet, earning nickname of "Silent Tom" throughout his adolescence. His middle name came from his Grandfather, Johann Brandt. He attended Harvard. Eventually he moved to Old Saybrook, Saybrook after earning his undergraduate degree, and would attend medical school there, as well as start his Screeno channel. He met his wife, Veronica, in 2013 and later married her in 2016. He had aspired to be a psychiatrist at a young age, as his mother was also a psychiatrist. he's been working in private practice since 2019, while also finding time to make videos on topics he is interested in, such as psychiatry and history.

Career[]

He posted his first Screeno video on April 5th, 2011, which was talking about disorders. The video got 300k views within a month, his second video, talking about Roscoe Conkling and his place in history, got 100k views. he got several subscribers due to a 2011 video from Eric Andre called "Eric gets near the PNC", where he appeared. He has also published several research papers covering psychological topics, and one historical fiction book. He also has a series of sorts on his channel where he psychologically analyzes fictional characters (mainly from television) all in a tongue in cheek sort of way, his first video of that series was analyzing Johnathan Malone (Brother of Derek Malone from Cheers) who starred in Cheers as a recurring character.

He started his practice in mid 2014. Initially, his practice was stagnant, although, would soon grow in business. He practices psychotherapy, psychiatry as well as marriage and family counseling.

The Time Lords podcast[]

In late 2021, Victor joined the Time Lords podcast, after a guest appearance a few months prior, his first video after joining was over GW4. He was a host of the podcast for almost 2 years, before quitting in September of 2023 to spend more time with his family, which is also why he has lessened his video output to one video a month.

Personal life[]

In 2017, The Odd Psychiatrist revealed on Twitter that his surname was actually Jenkins. He's revealed that he writes stories (mainly historical fiction) in his free time.
