In 1776 13 colonies of what is now the United provinces of America try to overthrow the British government however they are unsuccessful. The perpetrators of the attempted revolution, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton were executed on July 5, 1776.  these colonies became known as the United provinces of America in 1785. By 1790 Florida, and the Gulf Coast were part of this colony. By 1820 the United provinces of America controlled all the land to the Mississippi. The rest of the continent was controlled by the government of France, and West Coast was controlled by the Spanish Empire. Off the coast there is also the Kingdom of Hawaii. In 1865 the Spanish government sold  the West Coast to the Government of the United provinces of America. In 1900 Oregon, the Dakotas, Michigan New York all became part of the new country of Canada which became an independent constitutional monarchy in 1903. The United provinces became an independent constitutional monarchy in 1914. In 1917 the provinces of New Hampshire, Maine, and Virginia also became part of Canada. The United provinces of America also took control of the British colonies of Jamaica, the Spanish colonies of Cuba and Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland a large region of the Arctic. This occurred in 1920. The US also took over the former Spanish colony at Espanola in 1923. In 1924 the United provinces of America, Canada, the kingdom of Alaska, the new French Republic, Hawaii all created a trade agreement known as the North American colonial free-trade agreements. In 1935 the United provinces of America and the Dominion of Canada over their own foreign-policy. In 1955 both these nations became republics. On June 1, 1965 the Dominion of Canada and the United provinces for America gain control of of the of the new French Republic after the government of France completely collapsed in 1961. The region completely joined the United provinces in 1973. This began an era of peace and a North American continent which had been in chaos since the failed American coup in 1776
