  • January 20: Franklin D. Roosevelt would be re-sworn in as the 33rd President of the United States while Henry A. Wallace would be re-sworn in the 35th Vice-President of the United States, making Roosevelt the first President in U.S History to serve a third term as President of the United States.
  • April 12: Vice-President Henry A. Wallace would be sworn in as the 34th President of the United States inside of the Oval Office after learning that President Roosevelt had passed away due to an intracerebral hemorrhage, a fact that President Wallace would be informed of a couple weeks after succeeding FDR as President.
  • October 18: President Wallace announces to the American Public that he has chosen Missouri Senator Harry S. Truman to fill the vacant position of Vice-President that had around due to the death of President Roosevelt and Wallace's ascension to the Presidency in April 1945.
  • December 7: The House confirmed Truman by a vote of 387 to 35. After the confirmation vote in the House, Truman took the oath of office as vice president.
