The Trans-Pacific Alliance (TPA) is a multinational defense alliance founded in 1972 as an "Asia-Pacific" version of NATO for the United States and her close allies. TPA was founded both as a bulwark in the Orient against France (particularly with France's major naval base in their colony of Singapore in mind) and as a counter to Japan's dominance of the Western Pacific via its Asian Sphere of Prosperity.
