The Treaty of Caporetto was a peace treaty signed on 4 July, 1918, between the Kingdom of Italy and the Central Powers (German Empire, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria) that ended Italian participation in World War I. The treaty was signed by the Italians after two weeks since the surrender of France. According to the treaty, Italy would default on all obligations towards the Allies and cede part of it's territory to Austria-Hungary.
In the treaty, Italy ceded Friuli-Venezia Giulia and part of Veneto to Austria-Hungary it also had to return the Dodecanese islands to the Ottoman Empire. Additionally Italy would disarm and had to pay Germany the sum of a billion marks and Austria-Hungary the sum of four billion krones in war reparations.
