Treaty of Gaya[]

The treaty of Gaya was a treaty held in Aryavarta after a 3-year war with Aryavarta, Karnad, and The Bengal Sultanate. The Treaty was held in the year 1682. In the treaty, Aryavarta lost a large sum of land. Both Karnad and Bengal gained land.

The Results[]

  • Punjab will regain all of it's lost territory after the treaty effective immediately.
  • Karnad will annex sections of Southern Andhra.
  • Bengal will annex much of the eastern provinces of Aryavarta.
  • Due to this Aryavarta loses access to the sea
  • Aryavarta will have to pay for the damages and cost inflicted during the war totaling to about 14,000 pounds of gold.
  • There will be a 5 year truce between Aryavarta and Bengal.
  • There will be no truce between Karnad and Aryavarta for obvious reasons.

  • Punjab will have 5-year truce with Aryavarta.
  • Punjab will also be given a small portion of land from Aryavarta.

Discussion[]

This treaty is a good start, but there are many major problems with it. First, its way too heavily favored to Bengal who only did half the legwork. I expect Karnad would be able to at least reclaim all of Andhra if not parts of Maharashtra as well. Bengal, on the other hand isn't taking all of that in one war. Possibly 1/2 to 2/3 as much.

More importantly, anything Karnad and Bengal doesn't get in this war should break apart into smaller nations. I have hastily created a draft map to illustrate:

Post aryavarta

Of the four states bordering Bengal, the two smaller ones would be reasonably annexed as well as parts of the larger two. Karnad would probably annex most of the two states it borders Oh, I didn't mean to push that button!Oh, well leave a message I guess 01:38, May 23, 2017 (UTC)

Alright, here are two proposals for the map of India. The first excludes Punjab's fragmentation, while the second includes it. Although I was initially against Punjab breaking up, I prefer the second map because it just looks so much more natural.

Inda version 3 labels

1. India lite (without Punjab fragmentation)

  • 1 = Srinagar
  • 2 = Kumaon
  • 3 = Nepal
  • 4 = Delhi (Rajputs)
  • 5 = Patna (Aryavarta rump state)
  • 6 + 7 = Rajput states
  • 8 + 9 = Minor Gondwana/Chhattisgarh states
