The Treaty of Kaolack was proposed by Iberia to resolve the Iberia-Maghreb War of 1748-49.

Terms[]

  • End to hostilities and ten year non-aggression pact.
  • The Islamic Colonial Company shall be dissolved and its assets transferred to separate companies, to the Maghrebi Crown, or to the Iberian Crown (specifics to be determined).
  • Maghreb shall cease colonial activity in areas claimed by Iberia.
  • Maghreb shall not disrupt or interfere with Iberian trade in Guinea, Angola, India, or any places with an Iberian presence, be it directly or indirectly, such as through piracy.
  • Maghreb shall surrender all holdings or colonies on the Guinea Coast (specifically the stretch of coast gained after the conquest of Mali) to Iberia.
  • The Sultanate of Seluja shall be released from vassalage to Maghreb. Areas formally part of the sultanate but currently under Iberian influence or occupation (Bamako and everything south of it) shall remain under Iberian influence until a future agreement is made with the ruler of Seluja.
  • The Fulo state of Timbuktu may become independent if they wish.
