Alternative History

The Treaty of Ponta Delgada was a formal document proposed by Iberia in 1580 to end the Azores War. This war, which was concurrent with the Austrian War of Succession, resulted in maritime borders and trade deals to benefit both Iberia and Burgundy. In the words of King Sancho I, "Only a Dutchman and a Portuguese could come to such a mutually beneficial deal." Most notably, this was the end of hostilities between Portugal and Burgundy, the two nations coming to ultimate agreements on territory.
