Alternative History

The Empire of Greater Britannia and the United States of America have both come to the mutual conclusion that the state of war between them in this current conflict must be resolved with speed and fairness for both sides. Thus, this treaty, to be signed in the City of Quebec, will serve as the vehicle through which peace shall be achieved between the Empire and the United States.

British terms[]

  • The Empire of Greater Britannia and the United States of America will declare peace, and all conflict between the two countries shall cease.
  • The Empire of Greater Britannia shall withdraw her forces from states and regions of the United States not already under full British occupation.
  • The Realm of Canada shall receive the United States' states of Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. All American citizens currently residing in these states shall have the option of departing for neighbouring American territories, or to become British subjects. The Empire guarantees that former American British subjects will be treated with the same rights as other British subjects.
  • Diplomatic relations between the Empire of Greater Britannia and the United States of America severed due to the present conflict shall be re-established, and trade will resume.
  • The United States of America shall recognise the existence and independence of the Confederate States of America.
  • The Empire of Greater Britannia shall be permitted to establish military bases on United States territory in order to safeguard British interests in the region.
  • The Empire of Greater Britannia shall cede the British Bahamas to the United States.

American terms[]

  • Britannia shall help the United States economy recover from the war.
  • The United States and Britannia may not attack one another until the treaty is voided.
  • American and British embassies in Washington DC and London shall open or reopen.
  • Trade for Wisconsin dairy products shall have a subsidised cost of 50% off.
  • The British Bahamas shall be ceded to the U.S. state of New Jersey.

  • United States of America: --Orange (→My wall!←) 04:29, April 5, 2016 (UTC)

Discussion[]

  • America: Could Wisconsin be returned to the U.S. for its dairy industries? If so, would it be too much to ask to also return southern Minnesota (Minnesota south of OTL I-94, and Moorhead, MN)? We will let you keep greater Minneapolis.
  • Britain: I'm afraid that return of territories will not be possible, as the integration of these states into the Great Lakes Province of Canada has been completed, and are now full British territories. However, we will allow for trade of Wisconsin dairy products with the US for a greatly reduced price (50% off).
  • America: Fair enough. We are willing to negotiate, as a sort of "compensation," for the cession of the British Bahamas to the state of Maryland, since it is not part of any British realm at this time.
  • Britain: We agree.
  • CSA: (Since Oct has not been able to post as his nation, he has let me in charge of making peace http://prntscr.com/amf0eo ) We agree at making peace with the USA with those terms mentioned since they recognize our existance and independence.
