Terms

  • France will compensate the people of Vinland who suffered loss during the war.
  • The nation of Vinland will be guaranteed by France, Portugal and Scotland. It will retain a high degree of autonomy and not be a colony. The nation of France will agree not to interfere in Vinland.
  • Eric Kuis’ four children will be taken to France as wards to be tutored and raised in a European court (and they will not be harmed by the French).
  • Any Vinlanders who surrender to French authorities will be pardoned and granted preferential treatment, while any Vinlanders who continue to take up arms or resist this governance will be subjected to arrest and ultimately may be tried for execution
  • Jerrik Guðmundrsson will be labeled one such outlaw for his role in attacking the French, and he will be turned over to the French for execution. Any of those who harbor or aid him in resisting the law will also be labeled outlaws.
  • The treaty that Vinland signed with the Celtic Confederacy will be annulled.
  • France's ownership of the islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon will be recognized. The rights and claims over Hytholoday Island (Prince Edward Island) will also be given to France.
  • Vinland will no prohibit any trade with foreign nations not mentioned in this treaty (and other nations France dictates), and will prohibit any immigration from the Celtic Confederacy or these nations. Portugal will not be prohibited.
  • Foreign ships will be banned from transporting goods from Europe to Vinland, or from Vinland to Europe, with only French ships or ships owned by a French owner with a majority French crew will be allowed to do so, or ships from Portugal.
  • Detachments of French soldiers will be garrisoned in multiple locations across Vinland, including Fort Hytholoday, with fortifications being paid for and built by the Vinlanders to house these detachments.
  • The Vinlanders will be prohibited from raising an offensive army, and additionally all surplus guns, ammunition, and instruments of war will be turned over to French authorities.
  • Vinland as a protectorate will be required to pay the French an annual amount of tribute, but additionally, they will owe the French an indemnity in goods, labor, and money, will be paid on top of regular payments for the duration of twenty years.
  • Upon signing, said nation will exit the war.
