The Following Treaty is to negotiate the end of Maghrebi-Malian War between the nations of Mali and Maghreb. The negotiations of the treaty took place in Timbuktu, one the largest cities of Mali.

Terms of the Treaty[]

This shows the Various states of East Africa after the treaty. The Green is the Maghreb(green in east africa is the emirate of mali), blue is Timbuktu, Pink is Bamako, Purple is Seluja, the other states are in Grey.

Territorial Terms[]

  • The Former Sultanate of Mali will be shrunk to the to the city of Timbuktu and be renamed the Sultanate of Timbuktu.
  • Each of the Coastal Areas of the Formal Sultanate must be given to Maghreb as colonies. They will become the Emirate of Mali. This will include the capital of Niani.
  • The inner areas will be split into the Sultanate of Seluja in the south an the Sultanate of Bamako in the north.  

Cultural Terms[]

  • The Kazirs and religious authorities of Mali must obey the rulings of the Grand Kazir of Maghreb.
  • The Songhay language will be slowly phased out in the emirate.
  • Arabic and Berber will become the lingua franca of the three states and the Songhay language will begin using the arabic script. 
  • The Sultan of Mali will give up any official or religious status accept as the sultan of timbuktu.
  • Scientists and engineers from Mali are given jobs at Fez.
  • Copies of the Quran written in Songhay will be taken back to Fez and replaced with copies in Arabic and Berber.
  • Schools and other learning establishments will teach arabic and berber instead of Songhay.

Political Terms[]

  • The Maghrebi Armies currently in Mali will be allowed to stay.
  • The Sultan of Maghreb also installs two of his sons as the sultans of Seluja and Bamako.
  •  Timbuktu will become a vassal of Maghreb.
  • The Sultanates of Seluja and Bamako will both be made vassals of Maghreb and must pay tribute to the Sultan.
  • The Maghrebi military will be disbanded and join the Maghrebi military.

  • Jaffarid Arabia: Sultan Umar ibn Al-Jaffar of Arabia, Emir of Basra and Mosul, and Procurator of the Two Holy Mosques.

Discussion[]

The four other states you show annexed on this map were not part of Mali. Also, that's not where Timbuktu is. General534 (talk) 15:43, July 17, 2017 (UTC)

I didn't annex those other states. Also, the map is just an approximation, put timbuktu where you want to. Those other states were just for comparison. Squidzo's meat house (talk) 17:18, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
