This page is related to the political game Spring of Arconia. This is where most of the action happens. To learn more about the game, please see the general information about the country of Arconia, as well as political parties page.

Turn 1[]

This is the starting turn of the game. The political campaign begins there and will end after turn 10. During the course of the game, you will be informed about the progress of the campaign by three independent media, viewing the situation from three different points of view. Those media have a direct influence on electoral preferences of the people, and can be contacted with. Read them carefully, as sometimes they might give you a hint on how to run your campaign.

Worker's Journal[]

The electoral campaign has begun, and multiple parties appear in different regions of the country. Of course, it would be pointless for a common man to trust any of those dangerous upstarts. The Communist Party, on the other hand, cared about the people, and so will her successor, the Democratic People's Party of Arconia. However, some of those parties (notably the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia or the People's Welfare Party) at least declare their concern for a common man. At the same time, neo-fascist forces (the National Socialist Arconian's Workers Party and the Eco-Fascist Front) run their campaign too, willing to impose their fascist rule over our people. Let's hope that Prime Minister Hetman will ban them before they get a chance to get into power.

Liberty Post[]

In this political season, Arconia finally gets a chance to overthrow the communist tyranny once and for all. Political activity is on the rise, and multiple parties (such as the Arconian Liberal Party, the Taxes Are Bad Party or the Lumberjack Party) look forward to defeat the DPPA and oust Hetman from power. However, Arconians must be careful not to replace one tyrant with another - fascists from NSAWP and EFF are not friends of freedom, and the first free elections in Arconian history might easily become the last ones.

National Reporter[]

Arconians are about to determine the future of the nation. Hetman and his DPPA might be in control of the country for now, but the regime can only secure its rule by appealing to the national sentiment of Arconians. However, there is little hope that those former communists will actually care about the nation. Some new political projects (such as the Monarchist Party or the United Arconia Party) might serve the interests of the country better, but only if they manage to live up to expectations.

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia : welcomes the start of the campaign. Prime Minister Hetman gives an interview to the official party newspaper, "The People's Tribune", in which he warns Arconians of the great responsibility they bear. Hetman emphasizes that people should only put their trust on those politicians, which they already know, and which won't use the power of the state for short-term benefits. In order to satisfy public demand on political activity, DPPA has announced a political opinion poll, the results of which will be ready soon.
  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : Party leader Miklós Medgyessy has stated that he welcomes the start of a new democratic era for Arconia, coining the term "Spring of Arconia" during a new conference. He has also state that he is concerned with the economy and health of the common Arconian, stating "Whether it's health care, the economy, education, or national security, the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party understands that these are what matters to the common Arconian."
  • Monarchist Party :Monarchist Party leader and self declared king of Arconia Alexander I welcomes the new democratic era fro Arcania but reiterates his statement that Arconia needs a strong and capable ruler in these trying times. He also says that the monarchist party would pass significant progressive reforms such as minimum wage and maternity leave if they were to get a place in parliament.
  • United Arconia: As Maxsis Keakov stepped onto the podium to address a small field of reporters, it felt like everything was in its right place. "I'd like to thank the coordinators of this conference, my fellow coworkers whom have continuously worked day and night over the past weeks, and whom I'm glad to have now call my family, and most of all, I'd like to thank God..." Keakov would pause before continuing once more, "I am at a great concern for the direction of Arconia. In the last century alone, we've seen our neighbors take the call to reform at heart - a time when people of different beliefs were united under the single belief that the 'status quo' was no longer acceptable. When I was a child - standing in foodlines with my father, hoping we'd get our only loaf of bread for the week - I recognized at a young age that the tides where shifting against our beloved country. My father, born and raised in Spibor, would witness things that many outside our nation could not fathom. He was one of the lucky ones, fleeing the city and working hard shifts at a local factory, meeting my mother - born and raised in Kaschowia - whom worked as an elementary school teacher. I had been fortunate enough, through my father's hardwork and a mother's love, to have lived as long as I have - I've seen many of my former school mates and friends flee out of fear of persecution or suffer damnation in labor camps by the old regime..." Keakov would once again stop though, sighing before continuing, "We moved to Richenitze at a young age, for my father had the opportunity to progress in his job. However, my father would later be sent to one of those camps in the final days of the regime, and when he didn't return following their liberation, it didn't feel like a victory. So when that same regime has stylized themselves as democratic and 'for the people', the only feeling that comes to me is the feeling that there is still work to do. This is why this [United Arconia] party was founded: to strive for a better tomorrow. Whether it be for the father sitting on the bench, wondering whether or not he will be able to bring food home for his family because his paycheck didn't ammount to what he expected, or for the mothers, whom pray their sons or daughters make it home safely at night - I say this again - there is still work to do. Thank you all for coming, and may God bless Arconia."
  • The People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz bore a handlebar moustache and an expression that said, "Trust me". As he stepped onto the podium, there was an awed silence. Nobody had expected this - the Leader of the People's Welfare Party now wore a completely different form of facial hair. Vike Spinz knew that by midnight that night the media would have gone crazy over what he already felt they would call "the People's Welfare Moustache." Grinning dashingly as he strode across the stage, knocking over the podium and shaking the hand of the organizer of the event, Vike was confident that tonight he would make an impression. Grabbing the organizer by the hand and thrusting him upwards over his own head, Vike called out, "and three cheers for the organizer of tonight's event!" The crowd went wild. Vike tossed the organizer away and grabbed the microphone. "Friends, Arconians, countrymen!" he shouted. "During the years of Communist rule, the Party lost sight of what's really important! It's not the power. It's not the endless beuracracy. It's the people. The People! The People, I say. Who realizes that? Do you think the Eco-Fascists care about people? No, only about wildlife. Do you think the Monarchists care about the people? No, their entire ideology is centred around one person. Then there are the Lumberjacks, and they're OK - but really they're all a bunch of treehuggers. Do you think the Tabbies ["TAB" - Taxes are Bad Party] care about the people? They're capitalists, that's what they are! They're Libertarians!" Vike Spinz spits out the word, and some gets stuck on his new moustache. "Taxes are Bad Party? More like just plain Bad Party!" At this point, the crowd is in hysterics, and Vike Spinz releases a jet of water on them from above to calm them down. This happens at all his rallies, and the crowd has been waiting for it the entire night. They go wild. "And now, an interviewer from the conservative right is here to interview me. Let's hope I can convince him that Taxes Aren't Bad." The interviewer, famed late night television host, Chris Balding, steps onto stage. "Uh -- hi, everybody --" Vike Spinz pulls up a chair out of nowhere, and Chris sits down. "So, Mr. Spinz," he says, seriously, and a bit nervously as Vike Spinz towers over him, "What change would you like to see in Arconia?" "People's Welfare," bellows Vike Spinz into the microphone. "And a reduction in capitalism. Free trade is bad for this country, everyone knows it. Everybody knows it." "But the Communist Party--" Chris Balding frowns. "Exactly!" cries Vike Spinz. "I'm sure Mr. Hetman would be the first to tell you that capitalism doesn't work for the people. I promise," he improvises, "to be tough on Capitalism, and," he grows excited, "tough on the causes of Capitalism!" There is a round of applause. "Mr. Spinz--" starts Chris Balding. "Please, call me Vike - or 'the Spinz'," grins Vike Spinz. "Yes, of course. I wanted to ask you, what makes you any different from the other similar parties out there?" "There is no party out there like the People's Welfare Party," cries Vike Spinz. "And I'll kill anyone who says there is!" Chris Balding laughs nervously in response. "Let me explain to you what makes us different," Vike Spinz says, as if explaining something to a small child. "The Farmers - they're agricultural. They live off the fat of the land. Remnants of the ancient feudal system. They don't need a party, they need welfare reform." Chris Balding looks confused. "But how will that benefit--" "I know Miglos," laughs Vike Spinz. "I was at school with him briefly when my father got a job in his part of the country. 'Little Miggy' we used to call him. Nice fellow, but completely incompetent. Didn't know how to tie his own shoelaces. Ozren Korasakov - God knows what hole he crawled out of. Completely bonkers. The people don't want an arnarchist state. They want Welfare." He speaks persuasively, and feels his ratings go up as the entire event is being filmed as they speak. "I heard Miglos promise education. I wouldn't trust him with your child's education, you know. With my sure-to-be successful welfare state model which is entirely different from his - although of course the specifics are too complicated for me to explain right now - everyone will get a free education. If you didn't manage to get one before you can get one no, no matter how old - or young - you are. You know," he added, conspiratorially, "I've been considering implementing compulsory tertiary education. I invite the people of Arconia to come along with me for the free ride!" he shouts. "And I've got subsidized healthcare - subsidized healthcare galore!" He stands up. "You know what? Let me tell you something..." And so he goes on. That night, he would coin the term "Spring of Arconia", within hours of Miklos Medygessy also using it for the first time allegedly at a press conference. Vike Spinz was living the high life. "He's so full of energy!" Arconian girls would sigh, and would go gushing about the welfare that Vike Spinz had promised them, personally - "from me to you."
  • Civic Democratic Union Party: Speaking on behalf of the CDU is party leader Anastasia Vulkas, the daughter of former four-star colonel-general Raduslav Vulkas. Anastasia is a Krischadian through-and-through and hails from a family of Arconian loyalists, stretching to the Communist era and before. As the representative of Arconia before, as Miss Arconia in 1971, the CDU claims Anastasia thus represents (the word they continue to emphasis) the very nation, all that is ideal about Arconia, the embodiment of the nation and thus the face of the ideal party by extension, the CDU. The political hopeful Vulkas had this to say by way of announcement for the elections: “The democratization of our country is a must in order to join the society of nations, to place our voice, an Arconian voice, in the affairs of the world and, most importantly, to allow all our citizens to lift their desires to national attention and aid in the governance of our nation. Democracy is our great leap forward. The interest of the state cannot be placed above those of the people and it is with democracy as a tool of the people that we shall eschew this long-held principle. The path of democracy can bolster human dignity in our country, a dignity all Arconians desire and deserve. We must also be cautious that our leap does not take us over the edge. We must emerge in this new world while holding tightly to our traditions, our heritage, and our values. We shall not shame ourselves of our past nor deny our glories; we shall instead learn and grow and evolve. We must not allow ideas from abroad to erode who we are and yet we cannot allow tradition to deny a standing on the world stage nor the voice of the people to be heard and counted. It is therefore the position of the CDU to push for the state to do what is it here to do: to aid the people of Arconia in having all living standards met for a quality and happy existence, while also not stepping into every aspect of civil society as to control what the people choose, what people read, or what the people are allowed for political option. The CDU shall push for the state to protect those principals we hold dear and our culture all the while. We need be brave in this new world, we cannot shy away yet we cannot turn our backs on who we are. This the CDU shall provide and this is why the CDU runs for election. Thank you.”
  • Engelist Party of Moderates: “The Good people of Richenitze, I address you today not as a political candidate but merely an Arconian. I believe in three things: Angels, Engels and the Arconians. I will not seek absolute government but rather hope to form a government with the like minded parties. I hope to get basic healthcare so if you get hurt for anyone else’s problem you shouldn’t have to suffer. I will seek the establishment of state farms which will be used to make food which will then be distributed to all lower class citizens and ensure food to as many as possible whilst creating jobs”. Said 50 year old party leader Mikhail Kalininov, the former Army Major and current Professor at the Arconian University of Agriculture. The man attends church with his wife Alexandra, who runs a bakery. “I know my political wing has abused the Arconian nation but I assure you, the former leaders were not the patriots they were made out to be. I remember the pride I felt as a midfielder as Iosip Huskov scored us the winning goal in the 1960 Euros only for the hawks of the old regime to squeeze their propaganda into a great Arconian moment. In this party you will only find true patriots who seek to let the Arconian achievers get their moments instead of taking that away from them. My party will also choose merit over name as opposed to the old regime and that is why I will not select my son Ferenc as treasurer of the party” the leader remarked after a sermon.
  • The Eco-Fascist Front: Greetings to the people of Jediguria, I hope today to clear up a number misunderstandings about my party's positions and help to establish a clearer vision and platform to bring to the nation of Arconia, which has been brought to ruins by the communist regime. And a new Democratic government on the horizon which shows no intent to return our nation back to its traditional values and preserve the environment. My party aims to return Arconia to a natural, traditional, and agrarian society. We reject the globalist, progressive, and liberal attitudes of modern environmental movements. Our party does however promote environmentalism in of itself, including anti-consumerism. We believe it is also essential to recognize the synergy between the human population and its ancestral lands as well as the importance of nature to the western man. We believe that the use of eugenics and other means for population control while at the same time rid us of inferior groups. On the economy, the Eco Fascist Front believes that companies which bring untold devastating tolls upon the environment must be be done away with.

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia, the People's Welfare Party and the Engelist Party of Moderates. They are now available for wider audience.

A stunning victory for the DPPA! It looks like the Arconians are wise enough to put their trust on the ruling party. Some of the new parties, however, deserve attention too. DFLPA has held a speech in Dalmarna, emphasizing its concern for the common man. In Kaschowia, the People's Welfare Party and its eccentric leader Vike Spinz have produced a fiery rally, although its emphasis on criticizing other parties (which are barely even known in Kaschowia) is... questionable. Another promising party project is the Engelist Party of Moderates, operating in our 2nd largest city of Richenitze. Although their poll results are unimpressive so far, they will certainly become better if the parties keep being active.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post has published the speech, produced by the Civic Democratic Union Party. It is now available for wider audience.

Although the poll results may seem depressive so far, they show something very important: less than half of Arconians are ready to vote for the DPPA. What it means is, there is a window of opportunities available for the democratic parties. One of such parties, the Civic Democratic Union Party, has been particularly active in Krischadia. Moreover, its emphasis on conservative theses seems to have made a positive effect on local population, otherwise unsympathtic for the democratic cause. We also urge the readers to pay attention to the Arconian Liberal Party, which, although recently inactive, appears to be the most popular liberal force in Arconia. Both CDUP and ALP, however, are largely unknown outside their home regions so far, despite the best efforts of the Liberty Post. Hopefully, by the election time, this picture will change significantly.

National Reporter[]

National Reporter has published speeches, produced by the Monarchist Party and United Arconia. They are now available for wider audience.

Although National Reporter welcomes rallies, held by the Monarchist Party and United Arconia in Spibor and Richenitze, it shows deep concerns for the poll results. DPPA is on the lead, and no party seems to be anywhere near them. All of this is the socialists' fault! Most of the parties promise free this, free that and act like they would somehow be better than DPPA and the communists. Even the monarchists do that! Look at NSAWP. No one writes about them, no one praises them, everybody seems to dislike them, but they manage to come 2nd in polls, since most of its core electorate supports them, and doesn't have to choose between a dozen of parties, all of which offer the same.

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: Poll results are immediately published in the party newspaper, "The People's Tribune". The message is clear: DPPA is on the lead, people trust DPPA, and so should you. Julius Hetman has called those results "a good lesson for the populists, whose only purposes are to get to power and enrich themselves". Hetman urges not to trust populists, and to put confidence in traditional values: family, patriotism and labor. The future of Arconia lies in her past, and her past is DPPA.
  • The Engelist Party of Moderates: “We might only be popular with 0.17% of the population but I will serve and help a 100% of the population. Arconia will have better employment, less famine and more prosperity and by God I’ll do what I can to help those in charge to achieve it. I will not force the left wing on Arconia, I will force better lives upon the Socialist, The Conservatives, the Liberals and everyone” Mikhail remarks during a campaign stop. The leader organizes the EPM Cup for the state of Richenitze and announces during the first games between Richenitze United and Drovon Town that “All advertising money shall go to the state welfare fund, now come on you Richens!.” Grevin Altnik, senior member of the party comments on the DPPA’s statement “The Future of Arconia lies in the children, not the past which is sadly riddled with brutality and repression but let’s rather give Arconia a future of kindness and the freedom they deserve and will be given by a government which includes the EPM.” Kalininov tours Richenitze’s factories showing his support to the heart of the nation and his past as he visits the steel work which he worked in for a year to pay for his education and gain an insight into the worker mindset, this is supported by his quote “He who knows the worker, knows Arconia.”
  • The Eco-Fascist Front: The poll results are more than welcome news to our political party. The eco-fascists were once considered nothing more than a minor sub-section among fascists. We managed to poll in at 4th place nationwide, or 2.48%. I will continue to tirelessly make my case for a better Arconia. We reach out across the political spectrum. To eco-socialists and eco-conservatives, we say this; we find much common ground on the issues rather than differences. We will work tirelessly if elected to power to protect and preserve the environment. No other party currently running shows such dedication to solving climate change as we will. To younger generations we say this, we are looking to protect the environment for you and other future generations. To hesitant conservatives on the right, we say this, we are looking to restore traditional family values. To rural farmers, we support your hard work and that all Arconians should follow by your example. We will start to run TV ads and change the subject in the ads depending on the area. In Wendburg, we will run ads tailored to youths and those who may be inclined to support the Democratic government. These ads will completely ignore our social policies and instead showcase climate change in a bleak light and emphasize our commitment to solving the problem. In Welkobudovia we will emphasize our nationalism and our belief in preserving our nations principles. I, Pennti Linkola, in the meantime will crisscross Jediguria, holding speeches and rallies to excite the base.
  • The People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz was fuming. "So the moustache had no effect. No effect whatsoever on the poll results! 1.58%!" he cried. "It's not as bad as all that," murmured his brother and campaign manager, "Bro" Spinz. "And I think you may have underestimated the effect of the moustache. Although, Tne Workers' Journal says you need to stop criticizing parties that are unknown in the region." "Don't tell me about the Press," moaned Vike Spinz. "I know exactly who reads the papers. The National Reporter is read by people who think they run the country; The Liberty Post is read by people who think they ought to run the country, and the Worker's Journal is read by the people who actually do run the country." "Perhaps we should start our own media outlet," suggests "Bro" Spinz. "I'll think about it," says Vike Spinz. "In the meantime, we will release a statement. Write this down, Jameson," he commanded his secretary. "People of Kaschowskia. I will continue to work tirelessly to improve the welfare of the people - your welfare. Let me tell you this. I wish to extent an olive branch - the traditional symbol of Arconian nationhood - across the isle. We are all Arconians, and Arconia is a great and glorious nation. I agree with the Monarchists that the nation needs a strong leader as well as welfare. But who is a stronger leader than me?" He flexed momentarily. "I agree with the Eco-Fascists that nature's welfare affects the people's welfare. Where they go wrong is fascism. The People's Welfare Party is a green party. But we are more well-rounded - we see the bigger picture, and we must balance environmental controls with people's welfare. I think--" "Has anyone here even heard of the Eco-Fascists?" frowned "Bro" Spinz. "Hmm, perhaps not, perhaps not," says Vike Spinz. "In that case, let me address the issue of Mr. Hetman, who probably runs the only other party they do know. Let me tell you, citizens," he thundered, "we stand for democracy - something that Mr. Hetman and his party, do not - and never have, and never will - stand for, or indeed understand. For Democracy, I believe, is irrevocably linked with the welfare of the people - with the people's welfare - with the welfare of the state! As long as you are masters of your own fates, you are secure. Fascism and Capitalism cannot be imposed on you against your will, your welfare taken away, if you have a say, that cannot be taken away! 'A say, that cannot be taken away'. I like that. That can be a slogan we can use. Anyway - I tell you, the old Party that has ruled for some time now does not represent the common man. How can it? They are the elites. I ask you, how do they benefit you? The country is in a bad enough state as it is. That is because it lacks something... it lacks Spinz."
  • ArconiaMagazineInterview2

In Dalmarna Anastasia Vulkas gave an interview to a popular magazine from abroad, now making its way into the opening Arconian world. In the interview her supposed 'diplomatic skills' as a former 'national representative' were touted extensively.

Civic Democratic Union Party: Anastasia Vulkas spent time touring Arconia and making public appearances beyond Krischadia. In Richenitze she toured the local industrial plants and spoke to factory directors there, making certain that photo opportunities were plenty and establishing connections via her family's ‘traditional elite’ standing and name. Heralding the industry of the region and emphasising, she addressed the workers, stating “we stand by the vital principle of the protection of Arconian industries, the principle which has developed our resources, which bolsters our nation and can help us marvelously prosper to the benefit of all Arconians” and saying that the future of Arconia must not leave behind the workers of the nation. In Dalmarna she gave an interview to a popular magazine from abroad, now making its way into the opening Arconian world, where her supposed 'diplomatic skills' as a former 'national representative' were touted expressively. She responded to recent poll numbers and made a small speech in Wendburg additionally: “Our honorable Prime Minister, Julius Hetman, is right to say Arconia must retain its traditional values: family, patriotism and labour. These things we must take from the past with us into the future. But we cannot be mired in the past either. We must open ourselves to new political experiments and maintain this new democracy, a true voice for the people. This cannot be maintained with talk alone and we must not mire ourselves in political isolation internally or among the society of nations. The CDU’s economic policies shall be neither left or right-wing, but instead meant to improve conditions for our current labor force as well as the intent to help grow small companies, establish self-employed citizens, and are designed to boost entrepreneurs, to expand employment and stimulate the economy. We can grow our own industry and open ourselves to the world, bring more industry here and distribute goods to the world. We support affordable and free access to public healthcare for all Arconians and this can be funded by the state, which is here for the protection and comfort of the Arconian people. If the state fails to do these things then it has failed in its reason for existing and this must be corrected.” Upon being asked about the rise of fascist parties in Arconia, Vulkas replied, “I appreciate the call for environmental protection, but this cannot be at the cost and detriment of the labour-force nor our industry and industrial workers. We can make these jobs cleaner but we mustn’t destroy them and force everyone back into the woods. Fascism should worry us all, fascism is artificial, the antithesis to what being a proud Arconian is. Have we forgotten the blood our brave soldiers spilled to stem the tide of the fascist beast? To then allow it to sneak in by election, only to ban elections once it takes power? There is nothing less patriotic than fascism.” Stepan Kóbolʹd, a leading member of the CDU and party guarantor responded to questions about the dismal polling numbers: “We are not terribly worried about our numbers at this time. A large portion of Arconia are undecided and all citizens are free to change their minds at any time as well. This is a blossoming of democracy and it encourages us to see the people of our beautiful nation taking such interest in the many options. The race has only just began, it is a long marathon, not a quick dash. We will catch up,” explained the confident Kóbolʹd.
  • Monarchist Party:Alexander I goes on a tour over all of the region where he meets with the lowliest of men and takes up their question. During a visit to the village of Sebsic, the king encounters a fire in an apartment and quickly dashes to their rescue putting his life in danger, the king manages to save three of the four people before being forced out of it. Following this, the king is hailed as a local hero in the village and the news spread quickly. Several days later, the king holds a speech in the capital about the future of Arconia. He calls all the communist parties evil and says that the only way Arconia is gonna move forward is with a strong ruler. The king also proposes the creation of a house of lords in case that he is elected, this house of lords would function to scrutinize the government and propose better bills.
  • United Arconia: "Ondreas, my boy!" "I'm coming father!" The scene was a field, a lowly shack with the sunset in the distance and a boy running to his father. His hard day at the factory was worth it to see the boy in the father's eyes. The video would begin to pan out as the father picked up boy, revealing Keakov standing a short distance to their left. "These are the core values of Arconia: hard work and a sense of value. United Arconia isn't just a party, it's a message - a movement - bound to unite our fellow Arconians to be Prouder, Stronger, and Better. Instead of the government continuing to interfere with the lives of everyday Arconians, we should limit big government - to keep it under control - lowering taxes to provide stability for everyday families, and promoting innovation in the arts and sciences. Economic freedom will allow us to keep inflation low and fellow Arconians the freedoms that should be guaranteed to them without a knock at the door." The screen would flash to a picture of Keakov close up, disclaimers scattering the bottom while his voice would boom, "I'm Maxsist, Keakov, and I approve this message."
  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : Party leader Miklós Medgyessy after looking at the polls reacted by holding several large rallies. These large rallies occurred from his home region of Dalmarna all the way to the capital region of Wendburg. With tens of thousands of attendees, the rallies proved to be a success. Medgyessy soon travelled across the rest of Arconia, from Richenitze to Maramania. During one of these rallies, Medgyessy gave his famous "Health and Wages" speech. During this speech, an assassin neared Medgyessy and shot a bullet targeted at Medgyessy. The bullet missed, and the assassin was arrested. Medgyessy's calm reaction, acting as if nothing had happened to him, gained him many praise by Arconians.

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal's issue is dominated by the shot at the "Health and Wages" rally and by the Sebcic fire. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

It seems like the opposition parties now use different strategies to promote themselves. Vike Spinz continues to hold fiery rallies in Kaschowia, now emphasizing how much of a democrat he is. It appears that he had some success in gaining prominence in the region, as virtually any Kaschowian now knows who Spinz is. Prominence doesn't equal support, however. Kaschowians, unlike Wendburgians, would rather prefer an authoritarian ruler like Hetman or Keakov, both of whom didn't even campaign there. The Engelist Party of Moderates, meanwhile, is active in Richenitze. The event organized by the Engelists appears to have brought some limited success to EPM, as Kalininov now receives some support outside of the socialist electorate too. The problem is, Richenitze is a highly contested region, and not a particularly socialist one either. DFL, on the other hand, has decided to promote itself outside its home region of Dalmarna. Medgyessy's small team was given a gargantuan task of organizing a set of rallies across Arconia. As a result, the rallies were rather unimpressive, and a number of attendees was far lower than "tens of thousands" reported by DFL, however, the shot at the "Health and Wages" rally certainly made this otherwise non-spectacular event national news. A general lesson the opposition parties should learn is, they need to know more about the regions they want plan to be active in.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post's issue is dominated by the shot at the "Health and Wages" rally and by the Sebcic fire. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

The campaign is getting heated from the very start. Medgyessy is almost shot at on the rally, a fire breaking out in Sebcic during Alexander's visit... In public view, politicians bring danger with them, and this is a very concerning development. If our worse suspicions are true, this will result in more positive sentiment towards authoritarianism on the national level. Speaking of the democratic parties, we are ought to mention the Civic Democratic Union Party, as its popularity rises faster then that of any other opposition party. CDUP has started its activity in Krischadia, and is now active in three major cities of Wendburg, Richenitze and Dalmarna. DPPA support is among the lowest there and, apparently, this is deliberate CDUP policy to collect urban opposition votes.

You might see that the right-wing parties like United Arconia Party or the Monarchist Party achieve better results in the polls than the socialists. If anything, this is a result of small competition on the electoral field rather than a successful campaign, since both Keakov and Alexander has been rather unimpressive so far. Their activity barely gets outside their home regions of Richenitze and Spibor, although both of those parties already have substantial national support. Evidently, there is a lot of unrealised potential in the other regions of the country. Looks like the EFF is moving in this direction, given their efforts to appear on TV. Given the small capabilities of EFF team, organizing ads will take some time, but might be benefitial in urban areas (since many rural Arconians don't even own a TV).

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia : Political activity of the regime is now concentrated on managing the country rather than running rallies or meeting the electorate. The police is investigating the shot at the "Health and Wages" rally, as well as the Sebcic fire. Investigators suspect that those events were organized by the DFL and the Monarchists in a dirty move to raise their popularity. If proven guilty, both DFL members and the Monarchists would face prison, and their political campaign would be over. Meanwhile, Hetman and the People's Tribune actively expose those events as consequences of "uncontrolled democracy". Hetman warns the nation that his opponents might use the dirtiest moves possible to promote themselves.
  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : Party leader Medgyessy after almost being shot has just announced that he will be increasing security in his rallies. Medgyessy also fiercely declared that he and the DFL did not orchestrate his attempted assassination. He then continued touring the country, spending time in Wendburg, attempting to attract the urban vote of this region to his party. Whether this will work or not is yet to be seen, however Medgyessy remains optomistic, and even gave another speech.

Thank you very much for that warm welcome. I'm pleased to be In Wendburg, the capital of our great nation.

People of this region are writing one of the greatest chapters in our nation's history, and all Arconians are proud of Wendburg. I have come to the financial capital of the nation to speak of a serious challenge to our financial markets, and to the confidence on which they rest. The misdeeds now being uncovered in some quarters of communist Arconia are threatening the financial well-being of many workers and citizens.

At this moment Arconia's greatest economic need is higher ethical standards, standards enforced by strict laws and upheld by responsible leaders. With strict enforcement and higher ethical standards, we must usher in a new era of integrity in governance.

The Arconian economy, our economy, is built on confidence. The conviction that our free enterprise system will continue to be the most powerful and most promising in the world. That confidence is well-placed.

~An excerpt from Miklos Medgyessy's speech

  • People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz gloried in his newfound fame. The name "Vike Spinz" provoked strong reactions everywhere you went in Kaschowia. He was basking in this fame that was afforded him by the people of Arconia gratefully when he was seized by inspiration. He called over his brother and campaign manager, "Bro" Spinz. "Brother Spinz, I have decided to make use of the television medium. Tell me, who is immediately ahead of us in the polls? "The Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia," replied his brother. "In that case, I shall challenge their leader Miklos Medgyessy to a debate. A televised debate! Due to my powerful presence, I am sure I will outshine him onscreen. After that, I will challenge that Keakov fellow to a debate - also televised. And I will give every family in Kaschowia a free television on which to watch me turn my opponents to dust." Vike Spinz then goes on to declare his intention to debate Miklos Medgyessy, challenging him publicly at a rally. Later on that week, a rally was taking place in the region, Vike Spinz was giving a powerful speech. "If they accept my challenge, be sure to tune in so you can watch me DESTROY them," he suggested passionately, when suddenly there was a loud bang and Vike Spinz was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. People were screaming. "Here he is, here he is!" shouted a burly man, grabbing a small child, "I saw him do it!" "No, it was him!" shouted somebody else, pointing at an old woman. "It was me," declared a man, holding a still-smoking gun. The crowd turned on him in a fury, but before they could do anything to him, Vike Spinz stumbled to his feet. "Let him go," he commanded in a booming voice. He grabbed the man. "Why did you do it?!" he wheezed. When the man made no reply, Vike Spinz chucked him over his shoulder into the hands of security and the police. Vike Spinz then, with difficulty, climbed the podium and finished giving his speech before seeking medical assistance for the gaping hole in his chest with blood running out of it. Luckily, he survived. His resiliance in the face of serious injury would make him known throughout the country.
  • Eco-Fascist Front: The leader of the Eco-Fascist party awoke in rage to discover that his party had dropped from 4th to 9th place overnight in polling. He gathered his inner circle of advisors to entirely re-think the party's plan. In the end, they decided upon a slogan which would sum up their party, We Must Go Back. They drew out their key demographic which they wanted to win over and focus on primarily, christian, white, middle aged males. It was also decided that their plan of television ads would not be sustainable unless they could muster campaign resources. Openly bashing corporations would mean the party would be unlikely to get any corporate support. Instead, they saw an opportunity in grassroots fundraising. After the meeting, recruitment begins for volunteers to the party's campaign across Jediguria. The party will focus on building most of its efforts in Jediguria instead of overstretching into other regions. The party reaches out to local environmentalist groups, local faith organizations, and non-profits. Party leader Pennti Linkola will continue a tour of Jediguria, pledging that he will visit every town in the region, no matter where they may skew politically. During this time, the party uses its small team to reach out via phone call to potential donors across Jediguria at first to get them to pledge to commit to sending campaign funds. They will receive a letter of thanks, alongside a sticker saying "We Must Go Back", not long after any calls and will be given a deadline of always a week after the pledge was made. Other staff members not engaged in phone call efforts will do the old fashioned practice of door-to-door campaigning. Staff members of the party are encouraged to be overly cordial, through shaking the person at the door's hand and making sustained eye contact. Firstly, the staff member will ask the person at the door their political beliefs. If they are someone on the left-wing, the staff member will then walk away. If they are someone on the center or on the right wing, the staff member will then explain the party's platform in the most ambiguous yet clear way possible. If the person hasn't shut the door on them on that point, the staff member offer the person who opens the door a chance to donate to the party's campaign. If they accept, they will be handed a check which they can enter the amount they wish to donate. If the person refuses, they will then be offered with the choice of writing down their phone number so that they can be reminded on election day to vote, assuming they now wish to vote for the Eco-Fascists. They will then be handed a magnet with the party's slogan on it. If they refuse to have their phone number written down or they remain staunch in their opposition, they will be handed a lasting memory of the party to make them dwell on their choice. Meanwhile, the party begins the purchase of hundreds of yard signs and spread them throughout the region. Displayed on these yard signs will be the party's slogan, "We Must Go Back". Ultimately, all of these efforts being employed by the Eco-Fascist Front will hopefully build a stronger donor base, allowing for the party to later take its message more nationwide. There is one more unresolved challenge, which came from the People's Welfare Party, who affirmed that fascism is not the way to go with environmentalism. Pennti Linkola doubles down on them, unbeknownst of his recent assassination attempt, saying in a public statement while riding aboard a train, "The People's Welfare Party doesn't have the will like we do at the Eco-Fascist front to finally do away with polluting companies. In all likelihoods, sadly, the environment will not be among their priorities. They might institute regulations and uphold green infrastructure sure, but that will take years to truly make a dent. We don't have much time left before the damage is irreparable. We must restore our country to the natural order, we must go back. I say to people reading this, I promise therefore to restore order, protect private property and promote prosperity but also to shield society from economic downturns and disruption".
  • Civic Democratic Union Party: Anastasia Vulkas spoke in Spibor, addressing the crowd about recent events during a notably more somber gathering due to on-going chaos in the country. Vulkas, dressed in black, spoke with pleas for her country: “The unbridled chaos of recent events are of great concern – multiple assassination attempts, fires, and increasingly volatile rhetoric. Arconia is no stranger to atrocity nor terror, we are comrades-in-despair among the nations of the world, witness to the shedding of blood and of tears. Arconia must cease the loss of its own blood, we must remove the gun from our own temples! The future is ours, together, with a free and shared voice to come together and choose where we will go. To obliterate this bright future before it takes flight would be folly at its greatest magnitude. I cannot promise that the CDU will cure this ill that plagues us, that has long plagued us, but I do promise that we will do everything in our power to right our nation and our people, to do away with the bloodshed and divisive violence. We will avoid crackdowns on free association or any totalitarian reaction, that cannot be the avenue the cure is found. Spibor is no stranger to the realization that even under a firm hand and non-democratic state… bloodshed is still found. Therefore we cannot deceive ourselves that stepping backwards is the only way to bring order to this chaos.”
    KoboldInterviewArconia

Stepan Kóbolʹd during his interview in Richenitze

Vulkas met with the prominent clergy of Arconia and pious photo-ops poured out across the country, the fashionable Anastasia providing a more solemn appearance over the course of the meetings. Vulkas touted the emotional speeches and focused heavily on Arconian culture, religion, and ideals, making many connections to pre-Communist figures and historical glories, addressing her time abroad in her youth and the glowing attitude, supposedly, that internationals held for “beautiful Arconia”. Vulkas met with a prominent Arconian-American businessman in Wendburg during a televised event, taking advantage of the medium making its way into Arconia. Vulkas said during the event, “our party's goal is to unite the responsible political forces of Arconia, We aim to minimize the differences between rich and poor, young and old, state, business and society. Our economy should combine state regulation and market freedoms, with the benefits of further growth distributed the less fortunate. We reject left-wing and right-wing ideologies in favour of political centrism, which can unite all sections of society. We are Acronians before all identities and we should govern as Arconians, with pragmatism and anti-radicalism. We can be the heirs to Arconia’s glorious traditions, both késarist (being tsarist, or imperial, in Arconian) and communist. We are the party of deeds, not words.” And thus the party phrase was coined. Kóbolʹd, meanwhile, spoke in Richenitze (Kobol'd himself being a native of Richenitze) as the CDU cozies up to the factory workers and factory directors further. Kóbolʹd addressed the poll numbers once again, sparking a notably confident and happier tone than the dire address given by Vulkas in Spibor. He further continued to play the role of explaining economic policy ideas and the details of what the CDU believes would be good governance and their myriad ideas. Business and industry focused, investment bent, democracy centered, collaborative with all parties open to democracy, and so forth. Kóbolʹd said, “Our increase in the polls outpaced the competition in growth which, of course, we are very pleased about. This is an assembly process, it starts small, but the final product, when complete, is something to behold. And, like an assembly of goods, this is the product of many hands, many people, including all the people of Arconia. Our country is rich in mineral deposits, we can see a great potential for economic and investment stability in Arconia, with industrial output increased. Sales will soar, the banking sector can be expanded, much of this with government funding properly done and proper in-depth collaboration with Arconian companies and industry, which we can grow together, and with the arrival of European banks and investing to bolster it all. Let me say that it is no exaggeration that a potential for great economic prosperity is a reality in Arconia’s future and, we believe, with this prosperity will arrive stability which can make vanish such things as assassination and societal woes or poor coding which results in fires and disasters of that nature.”
  • Engelist Party of Moderates: Mikhail is absolutely thrilled with his polling results. He organizes a rally in which his family is first properly introduced, his wife Alexandra and 4 kids, the Veteran and Lawyer Ferenc, his second son Alexander who is entering the army, his daughter María and his third son Andreas, who suffers from dystonia. “This is my family, they will share my sentiment and fight for Arconia, my children will be the next members of the EPM, they will do what they can for Arconia with a motto of You must first serve, then be elected.”

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal's issue is dominated by the shot at the Vike Spinz rally. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

Once again, the campaign is not going peacefully. While Vike Spinz was holding a 4th rally in a row in Kaschowia, assumingly trying to find out the definition of insanity, he was shot at by an unknown terrorist. Spinz is currently in a hospital, his life is out of danger, however, there can't be any talk of him participating in the political campaign for a while. Medgyessy, on the other hand, was rallying in Wendburg, and seems to have gained some result: according to our information, DFLA is now the 2nd most popular party in the capital. His campaign is in danger, however, due to ongoing investigation of the shot at the "Health and Wages" rally. Another thing to notice is that DPPA popularity is slowly falling down. People are worried about the violent turn of the political campaign, and begin to doubt that the current government can guarantee them security.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post's issue is dominated by the shot at the Vike Spinz rally. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

One of the effects of the increased violence in the political campaign is the rise of the "scandalous" parties. The Monarchists and DFLA were all over the media not so long ago, and now we see just how much they have risen in the polls. Now the media gives all attention to the People's Welfare Party, and it would be unsurprising to see their meteoric rise soon. Other parties, although waging their campaigns in a more orderly manner, fall down in polls. This shows just how much the media matter, and it's a shame for the young Arconian democracy that none of the new political parties have even considered creating some newspaper of their own. If they just continue travelling across the country and giving rallies, they might reach their limit very soon. Perhaps, this is what happened to the CDU, now stagnating in the polls rather than rising further.

National Reporter[]

National Reporter's issue is dominated by the shot at the Vike Spinz rally. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

While our initial favorites like United Arconia Party or the Lumberjack Party stay inactive, the Eco-Fascist Front is waging, perhaps, the smartest campaign among all the political parties. They are expanding their electoral base in Jediguria, a region notoriously known not to trust outsiders and to support local political movements (such as EFF). It doesn't look like the Eco-Fascists have received as much funding as they hoped for, however, they have got something more valuable: people. Jedigurs are not only ready to vote for the EFF, they can provide their skills, abilties and connections to support the Eco-Fascist political campaign. This would be very valuable if the party does decide to appear on TV after all.

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: The state is ready to announce the results of the Sebcic fire investigation. According to the accusation, the arson was organized by the Monarchist Party and its leader, calling himself "Alexander I". In a dirty political move, the Monarchists were trying to increase their popularity by imitating saving people from fire, risking lives of innocent people and damaging their property. "Alexander I" and his associates are detained and are awaiting trial. In other news, the investigation of the shot at the "Health and Wages" rally continues. We suspect the new shot at the Vike Spinz rally to be connected to the previous shot. The state urges Mr Medgyessy to cooperate with the investigation, unless he wants to share the fate of the Monarchists.
  • Monarchist Party:Following the unlawfull and illegal arrest of Alexander I,mass protests happen in the areas where the monarchist party is dominant.Alexander Is son Alexander becomes interim acting leader as Alexander II and begins. He goes to the public court with several bystanders of the fire incident who swear that they saw a person wearing a red sicke logo setting fire to the house. This claim si also heard from people in the vicinty with most agreeing that the investigation is a sham in order to get rid od a political threat to the DPPA.Alexander II calls for a non biased international investigation of the incident in order to make sure that it was not biased. He hires the famous lawyer Rodrigo Martines to represent his father in this sham trial. Alexander II criticises this investigation by rekeasing infomation gathered by his informers. This info reveal some stunning accusations againt the DPPA,according to over 2000 people, sudden dissapearances of political enemies was a common thing during DPPA rule.
  • Forward Arconia Party: Brajan Bronziv plans a small-scale yet efficient advertising campaign, calling for an industrialised country and a push for regional dominance. He also makes use of the current situation, declaring the government an "insult to the country and attack on the people" in a speech in the coastal city of Dalmarna. The speech also called for the state to "take the reins of government, and not those of politics." The party also uses the region's opinions, promising autonomy and a functional local government if they came to power. Brajan travels the region, knowing that 700,000 people ready to vote for him would be a great opportunity, as well as a way to target tourists in the area. Posters and leaflets are handed out everywhere, not just in urban areas, each with a picture of an Arconian saluting the national flag, and a slogan- "Change Dalmarma to change Arconia". Brajan recognises Dalmarna's advantages- people, ideals, location.
  • The People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz spends time recuperating and recovering from his injury. Although it is difficult for him to hold rallies over this period, he releases candid photographs of himself, casually relaxing in the hospital wing and coolly drinking a glass of lemonade. He voices his support for an investigation into the Democratic Farmer's Labour Party, agreeing that his shooter may have connections to the party of Medygessy, considering he was shot just as he was challenging Medygessy publicly to a televised debate - although he refrains from openly accusing anybody just yet. He once again suggests a debate where he can grill Medygessy live on television, saying that he doubts Miklos will accept this challenge. Nevertheless, he condemns the government's arrest of the monarchist party leader, emphasizing that one should not try to cancel democracy: "Vike Spinz stands for democracy. Someone tried to cancel Vike Spinz at one of his rallies with a gun - and look at how that turned out." With people outside of Kaschowia now knowing him well, as soon as he is well enough, Vike Spinz plans to start touring around the country to make contact with ordinary voters. Vike Spinz also starts making plans to found his own media outlet, to be announced and released publicly in the next segment of the election cycle. "Bro" Spinz and other People's Welfare Party politicians continue to tour and campaign on Vike Spinz's behalf.
  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : Party leader Medgyessy starts off another week of campaigning in Krischadia , where he intends to capture the votes of farmers and workers who have grown disillusioned to the Democratic People's Party, yet unwilling to support the Democratic movements sweeping the rest of Arconia. Medgyessy also started talks of a possible "Democratic Coalition" with the Arconian Liberal Party and the Civic Democratic Union, against the Democratic People's Party, in his speech earlier today, but whether this could materialize into action by the three parties is yet to be seen.

"The wind is back in Arconia's sails. We now have a window of opportunity but it will not stay open forever. Now is the time to build a more united, a stronger, a more democratic Arconia. But this will only work, if the Democratic parties are able to unify."

"Arconia extends from Podunia to Maramania. From Dalmarna to Krischadia. East to West : Arconia must breathe with both lungs. Otherwise our nation will struggle for air."

~Quotes from Miklos Medgyessy

  • Eco-Fascist Front: Pennti Linkola decides that in order to make Jediguria be more accepting of his party, he believes in a more personal connection with their people, via TV appearances. Linkola takes to multiple news channels in the region to discuss his policies, but more importantly his heritage in Jediguria. Meanwhile, he instructs the party to begin hiring Jedigurs willing to support the movement as interns and those with the skill as marketers and campaign advisors. Newly hired interns and workers will then be used to increase the party's ground game, reaching out further across Jediguria than before. Jedigurs who will be hired as marketers will begin working on the creation of television ads to soon bring the party's message nationwide. They will also be used to promote a cult of personality around Linkola in Jediguria, to prop him up as their Khagan or great leader, creating effigies and posters of him, spreading them to bars, shops, and other places. To compliment this, Linkola will also become more active in the region. He'll resume a trip across Jediguria once more after his TV stint, however this time giving larger, more grandiose speeches in towns and cities. During the tour, Linkola will also connect with renewable energy business leaders, particularly those in wind and solar, alternative energy sources which have seen large growth in capacity, alongside nuclear and hydropower, and promise in private meetings government subsidies in exchange for campaign contributions on their part.

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia, the People's Welfare Party, the Engelist Party of Moderates and the Forward Arconia Party. They are now available for wider audience.

The left has been particularly active lately. While the Engelists have held a rather traditional rally in their home province of Richenitze, DFLA, the People's Welfare Party and the new Forward Arconia Party have tried something new. DFLA has announced her plans to create a coalition with other democratic parties. We don't know how effective that would be, however, we think that Medgyessy should also consider the People's Welfare Party, United Arconia Party and the Engelist Party of Moderates to be potential members of this coalition as well, since they share a lot of core DFLA principles. Speaking of the People's Welfare Party, it shows progress. Vike Spinz has announced the foundation of a PWP media outlet, and it looks like we are going to see it issued soon. A rally, held by Forward Arconia Party, might look rather traditional to you, however, it was held in just right time and space - in Dalmarna during the vacations period. A lot of people from Wendburg, Richenitze, Spibor and Jediguria visit Dalmarna and get the FAP message. The vacation period is going to last for some more time, and we expect Dalmarna beaches to see many more rallies soon.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia. They are now available for wider audience.

Let's discuss the coalition idea. DFLA has proposed a coalition to the Arconian Liberal Party and the Civic Democratic Union, and this would be an excellent move closer to elections. At this stage, it would be sufficient if democratic forces coordinated their actions and focused on defeating DPPA rather than attacking each other. Hopefully, democratic leaders will be able to find an agreement.

National Reporter[]

National Reporter has published speeches, produced by the Monarchist Party and the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for wider audience.

Alexander I is in jail, as well as sizeable part of his team, however, the Monarchist Party continues to campaign. Announced mass protests never happened, since there is no region in the country where Monarchist support is at least sizeable, however, there was some street activity seen in Kaschowia. Despite her reputation, Kaschowia appears to be a region with the highest Monarchist support. The Eco-Fascist Front, meanwhile, was active in Jediguria once again. Pennti Linkola has adjusted his campaign to better reflect preferences of Jedigur population, which did brought him some success. However, EFF will eventually reach its peak and would have to wage campaign in other regions as well. Creating its own TV network might've been a good idea after all.

The EFF Report[]

The EFF Report has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for a wider audience

Welcome to the first publication of the EFF Report, we publish on an annual basis and you can also find us on the EFF's very own TV network. Today, the people of Jediguria rejoice at their new figure, Pennti Linkola. Through the farm fields and urban centers, he traversed the region. And now, he'll be hitting the campaign trail nationwide right as his party's team has begun airing campaign ads outside of Jediguria, highlighting the party's platform to a larger base. The Eco-Fascists still have much ground to gain yet its supporters are still enthusiastic about it's future.

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: The investigation of the shot at the "Health and Wages" rally is over. The person responsible to the shot did belong to the DFLA, however, Medgyessy himself is found not guilty. The investigation of the shot at the Vike Spinz rally is over as well. The investigators have failed to find evidence of DFLA involvement in the shot. The shooter doesn't belong to ether DFLA or PWP, however, he was a regular visitor of Vike Spinz rallies. The investigators consider that the shooter was present there to prepare his assasination attempt, however, struggle to find the motive.
Miklos Medgyessy campaigning

Miklos Medgyessy campaigning

  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : Party leader Medgyessy has loudly declared himself innocent of the assassination attempt on his life, now with the investigation concluding that he was indeed innocent. Medgyessy's advisors are optimistic on the Party's chances, especially since he gained a new lead in the polls. Medgyessy then begins another week of campaigning. He currently intends to campaign hard in the region of Kaschowia, whose financial well-being is largely secured by the welfare.
  • Arconian Marxist-Leninist Party : A Newcomer has entered the Arconian political scene, the Arconian Marxist-Leninist Party, with it's leader, Vladimir Haruspex, launching his campaign in his home region of Krischadia. Haruspex harshly criticizes the Democratic People's Party of Arconia for being too soft on the Democratic Parties, and the Eco-Fascist Front for being "LITERALLY FUCKING NAZIS" in a rousing and fiery speech to his supporters.
  • Eco-Fascist Front: The Eco-Fascist Front has announced with great pride the creation of its very own media outlet, the EFF Report, alongside a TV network. The EFF Report will have both a newspaper and appear on the Eco-Fascist party's TV network. On this network, 3 talk shows will be given 1 hour each to espouse Eco-Fascist views, alongside various news anchors who will conduct interviews on occasion, cover recent news, and hold panels with experts and political opponents. The network will air daily and provide an echo-chamber for its viewers, allowing for deeper indoctrination and commitment to the party. With the launch of the Eco-Fascist's network, ads prepared by marketers and the campaign team will begin to be aired in certain regions outside of Jediguria that may be sympathetic to the party's cause. Considering the party's already maxed out support among Jedigurs, no advertising will be done there. Regions which will be targeted include Welkobudovia and Maramania, although most of the party's funds will be diverted into Welkobudovia. The party's message in ads will differentiate between the two regions. In Welkobudovia, the Eco-Fascist party will emphasize its support for nation strength and pride, and reject globalism outright. Other ads will also emphasize how the party supports preserving pure ethnic people and their traditions, which include the Jedigurs as well as the pure Arconians in Welkobudovia. In Maramania, campaign ads will tap into the trauma of the people there, stoking up fear of the recently formed Marxist-Leninist party, and promise to restore an orderly, traditional society and negate growing environmental problems. While these ads air, Linkola will personally visit both regions. Meanwhile, the Eco-Fascist party expands its ground game from Jediguria into these regions, allocating workers and resources.
  • Civic Democratic Union Party: After spending last year rather quiet the CDU return with a political newspaper of their own - Naródalny Gazéta (National Gazette) a partisan newspaper edited and published semiweekly by Arconian poet and printer Artim Klochurak. The paper covers national and international news and has a biased slant towards CDU party positions, though even so not in an overt or over-the-top manner, presenting itself as a broadly palatable read. Stepan Kóbolʹd, in response to the talks of a Democratic Coalition, said, "we are certainly open to the potential. The CDU believes in democracy and in a healthy competition that can grow in Arconia, where one party does not capture and never release power. We look forward to expanding the potential of coalition in the future, though we can say nothing solid on the matter at this time. We will, in the meantime, engage openly and democratically with the opposition parties and, ideally, find some common ground to construct a healthy narrative for Arconia, especially with like-minded democratic parties, such at that of Mr. Medgyessy. We would like to suggest, also, a further investigation into some of the recent security and safety issues in Arconia as this seems to fall upon the lap of the Democratic People's Party. Though we do not suggest the DPP's involvement we would like to note it is they who are in control of government, and a dominant control at that, furthermore that they are resting upon the structures put in place by, arguably, their own party - being the successors to the pre-existing power in Arconia. It seems then a message to Arconians that the existing structure must be changed, upgraded, made new and that this cannot occur with the DPP clinging to power. They have proven that their continued governance brings little improvement."
  • Forward Arconia: Brajan smiles as he sees the polls. He is really moving up. He orders for another rally, in the centre of the capital city, with more posters, more speeches, more ideals. More funding for tourism. Better working conditions. Industrialization. Whilst that is going on, he travels into the suburbs, calling on the locals to support him. With a large window to complete his campaign in the vacation period, soon he can do rallies on a weekly basis, sometimes even daily, with posters lining the walls.
  • The People's Welfare Party: The interviewer was young, keen and alert. He was the best interviewer the broadcasting company had got. He was determined to nail Vike Spinz, to show him who was the boss of this interview, and make sure Vike Spinz didn't control the procedings as he usually managed to in interviews like these. He wanted, in fact, to be the next great interviewer, the next great broadcasting legend of Arconia. "So, Mr. Spinz," the interviewer said, cautiously, "what do you say to Mr. Medygessy's proposal to other similar parties to form a coalition? So far he hasn't approached you, at least not publicly... but what would you say if he did?" "You know, Fred," began Vike Spinz, casually, "I'd say..." "My name's Lucas," said the interviewer. Vike Spinz frowned, then suddenly his face contorted with pain, and he let out a high-pitched scream, that gradually faded away. "Sorry," he grunted, "that damn gun wound. Now where were we, Fred?" "My name's Lucas, actually---" At this, Vike Spinz released yet another banshee-like bellow, this time sounding more like a wounded bull. This gradually subsided. "Sorry about that, Fred..." "My name's---" This time, before the interviewer could even finish his sentence, Vike Spinz let out one of the most blood-curdling screams anyone watching the interview had ever heard. When he had finished, he smiled and said, "Now, where were we, Fred? That is your name, isn't it?" The interviewer hesitated, then nodded. Vike Spinz smiled, satisfied. "I thought it was. Now, we were discussing that coalition idea... I wouldn't be opposed to it, although so far he has not contacted me. But I can assure you of this one thing, my dear Fred, that that coalition will not succeed without me. Mik knows it, you know it, I know it, people on both side of the aisle know it. I hear he's moving onto Kaschowia - my ground. Before he does, he'd better reconsider - he'd better not forget who the real man of the people is out of the two of us. As I've said before, I want welfare for the people, it's in my party's name. I am welfare personified. Little Mik? Who's he? I mean, really, who does he think he is? I'm very happy - very happy - with our success in the polls, I can tell you. If I had that shooter here with me right now, I'd thank him and shake his hand. Although, of course," he chuckled, "there are some other things I'd like to do to him as well... I hear he's not properly co-operating with the investigation into the shot at me. Too bad. They should let me in a room with him for ten minutes or so... I promise you, by the end of that, you'll have a full confession." The interviewer pulled out a handkerchief and mopped his brow. Vike Spinz tended to have that effect on interviewers. The Vike Spinz campaign had paid him and the broadcasting company to ask a question during the interview prepared by them beforehand. He assumed it must be something very important to Vike Spinz's campaign. He glanced down at his notes, shuffled them, and frowned. "Er... I'm sure we've all noticed your new moustache..." Before he could finish, a huge cheer went up from the crowd, as the Vike Spinz fangirls screamed in unison. Vike Spinz smiled dashingly, and said modestly, "Oh, this old thing? It just came to me one night, when I was stuck in the hospital... I hear the political journalists are all giving it positive reviews..." Soon, the interview was wrapping up. "Well, that concludes our interview here tonight, Mr. Spinz---" "Please, call me Vike," said Vike Spinz, and seeing that the interviewer had failed to bring up his new media outlet, probably because they're afraid of the competition, he thought, knowingly, he decided to bring it up himself. "I would like to announce that tonight we are releasing the first issue of our new media outlet, The Spinzter..." The crowd went wild, and the interviewer collapsed in his chair, defeated. Vike Spinz winked at him, and strode fearlessly into the crowd to be adored. Later that week, he would campaign hard in Kaschowia to be ready for Miklos Medygessy - who he challenges to a public, out-in-the-air debate in the region, to let the people of Kaschowia - and Arconia as a whole - decide once and for all. He then pops over to Dalmarnia between meals on a particularly sunny day for an apparent holiday of his own, although in actual fact he is doing some "undercover campaigning" there. For most of the day, he sunbathes, looking cool in his sunglasses and pale blue beach trunks and sunburnt moustache, while photographers snap photographs. At one point, he casually saves a man from drowning and personally gives him mouth-to-mouth and CPR, earning him the applause of the gathered crowd of beach-goers. He poses with carefully selected attractive girls in bikinis, with one on each side of his moustache. Free copies of The Spinzter are distributed throughout Arconia. Vike Spinz was ready for anything.

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia, the People's Welfare Party, the Arconian Marxist-Leninist Party and the Forward Arconia Party. They are now available for wider audience.

Most of the leftist parties have returned to simple rallying. DFLA is campaigning in Kaschowia, Forward Arconia Party is active in the capital city of Wendburg, and the new Arconian Marxist-Leninist Party launches a campaign in Krischadia. Krischadia is a good choice for Marxists-Leninists, given this region's loyalty to communist ideals, however, denouncing Eco-Fascists in a province where the EFF is barely known would, if anything, just bring more votes to the EFF. People's Welfare Party, however, makes progress. Vike Spinz has followed the example of Forward Arconia and held a rally in coastal Dalmarna in the middle of holiday season. Moreover, PWP has proceeded to release her own newspaper. It's a great shame, however, that Vike Spinz's wound leads him to hospital once again, probably due to increase in physical activity. PWP leader has already shown his ability to wage campaign from a hospital bed, however, there would be no talk of open-air debate in Kaschowia.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post has published speeches, produced by the Civic Democratic Union Party. They are now available for wider audience.

Civic Democratic Union Party has spent most of her effort organizing her own media. Judging from the polls, you might think that this was a bad idea, but make no mistake: CDU might start rising in the polls very soon. In comparison with the leading opposition parties, CDU suffers from relative obscurity. CDU's own newspaper might be a useful tool in changing this situation. Another great news is a dramatic fall of DPPA popularity. Supporters of the regime no longer feel themselves to be a majority, and it looks like Hetman's positions are getting weaker every day.

National Reporter[]

National Reporter has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for wider audience.

EFF is now on the media, however, the results so far aren't as great as one would expect them to be. EFF has attracted a substantial expertise, true, but this is largely Jedigur expertise. Common Arconians treat Jedigurs with distrust, and any predominantly Jedigur media would face hard time trying to become truly popular. "Those Tartars don't even know how to pee standing, how can we trust them a government?". As silly as those jokes sound, they create a background negative towards the Jedigurs anyway. Apparently, EFF is expanding into Maramania and Welkobudovia, and her expertise would become more diverse.

The EFF Report[]

The EFF Report has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for a wider audience

For the first time since the start of the campaign, the Eco-Fascist front is gaining support in the polls as it begins to expand into new regions. As such, the EFF Report has recently announced that it will be allowing Arconian political commentators and journalists slates on the network and the newspaper, to show we are not just a media outlet of the Jedigurs. The EFF Report is an outlet for the nation.

Parties activity[]

  • Eco-Fascist Front: Pennti Linkola dosen't stop to celebrate his party's resurgence in the polls and continues on the campaign trail, allowing for interviews along the way. He's allowed for his news outlet to embrace more Arconian voices, letting on multiple talented political commentators and journalists sharing the party's views in order to allow for it to take on wider mainstream acceptance. Meanwhile, as the party's campaign ramps up, it will begin to emphasize further its fascist ideology in Welkobudovia while keeping to the same message in Maramania. Using allocated campaign workers, the party also continues its ground game of registering citizens to vote for the EFF come election day via phone calling and door knocking, while also promoting small campaign contributions. While campaigning in both Maramania and Welkobudovia, Linkola downplays his Jedigurian heritage. He also holds rallies, albiet relatively small as he campaigns. While in Maramania, he also visits with farmers returning to their land which had been collectivized, promising, "Nothing as atrocious as what happened to your land and your people will ever, ever happen again!" While this all occurs, Linkola's son Stefan, who's been working as a minor campaign assistant in Jediguria, is caught in a tragic car accident, hospitalizing him. Upon hearing the news, Linkola was devastated and immediately stopped campaigning, taking an overnight train to visit his son. EFF followers across Jediguria and other regions are advised to send prayers to Linkola's son in these times.
  • Forward Arconia Party: With the entire party delighted at their polling (biggest increase!), they continue with their strategy, but slowly move into other provinces. Namely, Maramania is the target of the next PR campaign, with Brajan Bronziv making a speech about "the government ignoring Maramania, using it as its rubbish dump, and not as the coastal community". With Vike Spinz attempting to take over Dalmarna, a tour by Brajan's brother, Adam, is conducted across the province. This tour is known for its style, different from the regular political speeches. Furthermore, the party concentrates even more on Wendburg, throwing leaflets onto the roads outside of government buildings.
  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : With the DFLA's small but continued increase in the polls, Party leader Medgyessy has announced a new media outlet, the Democratic Times. The Times will cover recent events as well as the DFLA's policy and programs for Farmer's and worker's. Even with a new newspaper being created, Medgyessy is still on the campaign trail, attempting to take advantage of the DPPA's fall in the polls. He is currently campaigning hard in Podunia and Kaschowia, attempting to capture the vote of the Pro-western and welfare dependent populations.
  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: Fall in the polls of this kind is unacceptable to DPPA. However, the ruling party is still in the lead, and people of Arconia must see just how powerful and how popular DPPA actually is. Julius Hetman has announced a mass demonstration in Wendburg, where tens of thousands of patriotic Arconians from all over the country would gather in one place to show their support for Hetman. DPPA will use its administrative resource to bring its supporters to the capital, as well as to persuade state employees to participate regardless of their political views. Both power and popularity are in Hetman's hands, and Arconia will see it.
  • Civic Democratic Union Party: The CDU has moved into a new space of Realpolitik, pulling from the overt on-the-ground campaigns of previous years. Ties continue to built with industrial bosses in Richenitze while Anastasia Vulkas also maintains a prominent presence in both the capital, Wendburg, as well as the CDU's home-base of Krischadia. Meanwhile former four-star colonel-general Raduslav Vulkas, and father of Anastasia, has made his presence known in Wendburg. The down-to-earth General Vulkas has been giving small public talks on the benefits of moving beyond the old power base, represented by the DPP, and has also provided an array of photo-ops for his daughter and CDU members. The party paper is beginning to circulate as well, spreading to every corner of the nation, with translated versions in Jediguria. Anastasia Vulkas, present in Wendburg as she has often been of late, took the opportunity of the DPP Patriotic Demonstration to rally a counter-gathering, a clarion call to all pro-democratic elements in Arconia, using resources gathered from the business, industrial, and international elite the party has been building, as well as the prominent media and news presence of Anastasia. General Vulkas himself made his presence known and called on military elements to rally with the CDU. Freedom and Democracy for Arconia, as the counter-rally became known, would test the DPP's shrinking hold on the populace, or so the goal was.

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia and the Forward Arconia Party. They are now available for wider audience.

Parties continue rallying. Forward Arconia has used her limited resources campaigning in Wendburg, Maramania and Dalmarna at once, although, perhaps, it would be more effective to concentrate efforts in some particular province rather than trying to achieve results in many provinces at once. Holiday season in Dalmarna is in its end, and campaigning there wouldn't bring substantial growth in the polls anymore. DFLA, on the other hand, has created her own media outlet too. It might become a great tool to spread the message, however, this message must be formulated first. DFLA stagnates in the polls, and it seems like the old message has outlived its usefulness.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post has published speeches, produced by the Civic Democratic Union Party. They are now available for wider audience.

Soon after the announcement of the DPPA rally in Wendburg, CDU has announced a rally of her own. So far it doesn't seem like CDU alone can challenge DPPA, however, support from other parties might tip the scales. Negotiating with industrial elites of Richenitze might be rather ineffective (CDU is currently 4th most popular party in Richenitze), however, the spread of a media outlet has already brought CDU a substantial rise in the poll, and will probably rise even more.

National Reporter[]

National Reporter has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for wider audience.

Eco-Fascist Front continues her campaign in Welkobudovia and Maramania. It seems like Linkola tries to differentiate her message in different provinces, with varying results. Welkobudovia welcomes fascists, and EFF rating there is over 10% (which makes EFF 2nd most popular party there). Maramania is different. Post-communist land reform, performed by DPPA, was notoriously unfair, and farmers never got their land back in private property. EFF message there is viewed by some as salt on the wound, consequently not bringing Linkola much success there.

Democratic Times[]

The Democratic Times has published speeches, manifestos, and leaflets produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party. These pieces of media are currently being distributed all across Arconia.

For the last few weeks, The DFLA has stagnated in the polls. Due to this, the DFLA has created a new media outlet, the Democratic Times, to allow it's message to spread. The Times has recently announced that it will be hiring political commentators and journalists to report on the issues that matter to the day to day lives of the hard working Arconian people.

The EFF Report[]

The EFF Report has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for a wider audience

The EFF is reaching unprecedented levels of support not seen in any part of its campaign prior. Its campaign seems to overall be a success, although the party's efforts in Maramania has minimal effect. Nevertheless, Pennti Linkola has resumed his rallies and speeches after visiting his hospitalized son.

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: DPPA efforts are directed at the rally in Wendburg. The message is simple: "Preserve Arconia". Hetman expects that his team will be able to bring hundreds of thousands of people on the streets. DPPA uses her administrative resource in full. People are provided with flags, banners and slogans. The capital will belong to Hetman, and the rest of Arconia will follow.
  • Forward Arconia: The party decides to scrap their old plans, and move straight to Kaschowia. There, Brajan promises to give the people what they want- equal wealth distribution, equal opportunities to work, and so on. Speeches are held in all sectors- one in a major city, then in a farm, until everybody in the province knows Forward Arconia's policies. This could provide a boost in polling, since they had been disappointed by their place now. Furthermore, there are plans to form a coalition and alliance with the CDU...
  • Democratic farmer Labour Party : The DFLA has stagnated in the polls, it's gains are most small, even less than a tenth of a percentage. Medgyessy has decided to up his game, by formulating a new message and platform, which will be distributed through the Democratic Times. Medgyessy is also keen on a potential debate with the People's Welfare Party's leader, Vike Spinz, announcing that "I am eager to debate Spinz on the issues that matter to Arconians." Soon after this, he ramps up campaigning in Wendburg and Kaschowia, holding rallies with thousands of attendees.
  • The People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz had spent a while recuperating and recovering in bed. He had held a small interview, conducted with the ace reporter Bill Nighty. It was a fairly gentle interview, with a couple of jokes ("Do you think you'll recover?' Bill Nighty had asked. "Of course," Vike Spinz had said confidently, "the Vike always recovers - thanks to this wonderful welfare system I plan to expand... the DPPA after that 10% drop in the polls on the other hand..." They had both laughed). After getting out of hospital, Vike Spinz began with a series of gentle excursions around Maramania, where he meets locals, to whom he is courteous and charming, and he declares his intention to "right past wrongs in the region". He then works up to some campaigning in Spibor, holding rallies and playing to the region's tendency towards populism, he puts up posters and hands out flyers with his face on, with the words "VOTE VIKE" emblazoned across. However, Vike Spinz then returns to Kaschowia, where he campaigns vigorously, and holds rallies in preparation for the upcoming debate with Miklos Medygessy. He knows that local party support is important, and also advertises greatly for the debate, often with a subtly positive, pro-Vike Spinz to the advertisements. The Spinzter is distributed throughout the area, while meanwhile, hearing that Miklos Medygessy has now also founded a media outlet, Vike Spinz determines to up his game: he decides to start a television network. He plans to televise the debates. He tells a journalist, "Kaschowia is too big for the two of us... indeed, Arconia is. Therefore I am determined to show the people of this country just exactly who they deserve to lead them on the path to democracy - and who the real champion of the people is. Their party is stagnating, their hackneyed political messaging is no longer working as I predicted - and because Miklos Medygessy essentially just copies everything I say and has no original ideas of his own, I think we can tell that the people are starting to make the right decision."
  • The Arconian Marxist-Leninist Party : Comrades, allow me first of all to remind you how authoritarian and Hetman and the DPPA had been. And how his government has increasingly become what many i call the cult of the individual. This cult, has been severely denounced by the classics of Marxist-Leninism. In a letter to the German political worker, Wilhelm Bloss, Marx stated: "From my antipathy to any cult of the individual, I never made public during the existence of the International the numerous addresses from various countries which recognized my merits and which annoyed me. I did not even reply to them, except sometimes to rebuke their authors. Engels and I first joined the secret society of Communists on the condition that everything making for superstitious worship of authority would be deleted from its statute. The great modesty of the genius of the revolution, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, is known. Lenin had always stressed the role of the people as the creator of history, the directing and organizational role of the party as a living and creative organism, and also the role of the central committee. Marxism does not negate the role of the leaders of the workers' class in directing the revolutionary liberation movement. While ascribing great importance to the role of the leaders and organizers of the masses, Lenin at the same time mercilessly stigmatized every manifestation of the cult of the individual, inexorably combated the foreign-to-Marxism views about a "hero" and a "crowd" and countered all efforts to oppose a "hero" to the masses and to the people. Comrades, we must abolish the cult of the individual decisively, once and for all; we must draw the proper conclusions concerning both ideological-theoretical and practical work. And to do that, we must defeat Hetman and his corrupt lying cronies. It is necessary for this purpose to restore completely the Leninist principles of Soviet Socialist democracy, expressed in the old constitution of our ally the great Soviet Union, to fight willfulness of individuals abusing their power. The evil caused by acts violating revolutionary Socialist legality which have accumulated during a long time as a result of the negative influence of the cult of the individual has to be completely corrected. We are absolutely certain that our party, will lead the Soviet people along the Leninist path to new, successes, to new victories. Long live the victorious banner of our party-Leninism!
  • The Eco-Fascist Front: Finally seeing some real movement in the polls, Pennti Linkola is delighted and returns to the campaign trail re-invigorated. While continuing to provide an olive branch outside of fascists and extremist environmentalists, he will begin a campaign to rope in fascists who continue to support the now dormant National Socialist workers party, and possibly progressives who hold totalitarian views on the role of government, and specifically begin attack ads against the party. On the topic of campaign ads, Linkola will also begin to air ads in Wendburg, siphoning revenue from its network, to a younger, more Metropolitan region. The EFF plays up its environmentalist message in these ads while leaving out its social and totalitarian one, in order to lure younger voters, in the 18 to 25 range to support the party blindly. This age group is less likely to know the party's complete message and follow up with politics in general. Also using money made from the EFF Report, merchandise will begin to be sold, only available in the regions the party is campaigning in. T-shirts, coffee mugs, and water bottles will be made, either with the image of Pennti Linkola, sold primarily in Jediguria to boost his cult of personality there, or with the party's slogan "We Must Go Back". The idea of merchandise is a win-win. It generates money for the campaign and gets people talking about the party's message.
  • Civic Democratic Union Party: The CDU begins to organize for their rally in Wendburg, a counter message to that put out by the current leaders of the nation. The message is also simple: "Let Arconia Blossom". While using both the CDU's business acumen and industrial contacts as well as Anastasia's personal connections, the CDU has also made contact with like-minded democratic parties in the race, namely Forward Arconia, in an attempt to get other parties to participate in the 'Rally for Democracy in Arconia' as the event is titled. Anastasia Vulkas has herself also reached out to FA about the aforementioned political alliance, likely the seeds of coalition if the winds should blow in such a way. "I believe the structure for a coalition is there and that coalition talks can begin in earnest, as democratic oriented parties agree on a PM choice and various stances. We are a party of advancement and democracy but we also hold dear to tradition and what it means to be Arconian and we naturally would expect as much from any partners looking to loosen the iron grip the DPP has on our beloved nation," Anastasia told reporters in Wendburg.

Turn 8[]

Registration for the parliamentary elections is now open. Parties are required to apply for elections and present an electoral list. It is possible for multiple parties to present a single electoral list, in which case parties would run in a coalition. Only parties registered by this moment are allowed to present an electoral list.

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal's issue is dominated by the Preserve Arconia rally. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

Although DPPA rally clearly didn't gather hundreds of thousands of people, the count was certainly in tens of thousands, and it was indeed the largest rally of this political campaign. All the leftist parties tried rallying too, especially in Kaschowia, which has recently received a lot of attention for some reason. Perhaps the reason are the debates, which apparently are going to be held between DFLA and PWP.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post's issue is dominated by the Preserve Arconia rally. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

Sadly, the democratic forces appear to have lost the rally competition in Wendburg. DPPA rally was clearly more numerous, while CDU and DFLA events looked bleak in comparison. Even though CDU and DFLA might get sympathy from Wendburgian democrats for their valiant efforts to confront DPPA, it was Hetman to strenghten his positions in the first place.

National Reporter[]

National Reporter's issue is dominated by the Preserve Arconia rally. Any speeches, even if published, receive little to none attention from the public.

EFF is rapidly rising in the polls. Linkola wages a diverse and large-scaled political campaign, varying his narrative for different sociological groups. This clearly pays off. However, EFF faces a problem. Liberal and socialist parties are likely to form coalitions (CDU, FA and DFLA are already holding such talks), while the Eco-Fascists are viewed as toxic by other parties. Even if some political party (other than NSAWP) agreed to ally with EFF, this party would lose its own voters.

Democratic Times[]

The Democratic Times has published speeches, manifestos, and leaflets produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party. These pieces of media are currently being distributed all across Arconia.

The following is the official Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party platform, produced and distributed by the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party :

In order to initiate the changes necessary to keep Arconia strong and make Arconia better, in order to restore competence, caring and incorruptibility to our country and get it working again fairly for all Arconians, and in order to secure for our children a future of freedom and opportunity,

Hereby pledge our Party, our leaders, our elected officials and our every individual effort to fulfilling the following fundamental principles for all members of the American family.

For we believe that all Arconians have a fundamental right to economic justice in a stronger, more prosperous national economy, an economy that must grow steadily without inflation, that can generate a rising standard of living for all and fulfill the desire of all to work in dignity up to their full potential in good health with good jobs at good wages, an economy that is prosperous in every region, from coast to coast, including our rural towns and our older industrial communities, our mining towns, our energy producing areas and the urban areas that have been neglected for the past several years. We believe that we can have a country with training and employment programs—including child care and health care—that can help people, with portable pensions and an adequate Social Security System, safeguarded against emasculation and privatization, that can help assure a comfortable and fulfilling old age.

For we believe that the time has come for Arconia to take charge once again of its economic future, to reverse the fiscal irresponsibility and economic violence against poor and working people that have been done by Hetman and the DPPA.

For we believe that it is time for Arconia to meet the challenge to change priorities after decades of devastating DPPA policies, to reverse direction and reassert freedom and democracy, to reinvest in its people within a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility. If we are seriously to pursue our commitments to build a secure economic future for all Arconians we must provide the resources to care for our newborns, educate our children, house the homeless, and heal the sick.

There is no good reason why the nation we love, the greatest nation on earth, should rank last among the nations.

Therefore the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party assembled and united, the Party of hope and change and fairness for all, hereby declares its readiness to end the Hetman dictatorship, encouraging and inviting the Arconian people—challenging them to do their patriotic best to meet their community responsibilities, encouraging them to protect and preserve their families, our most precious assets, and inviting them to join with us in leading the land we love to a brighter and still greater future of opportunity and justice for all.

The EFF Report[]

The EFF Report has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for a wider audience

The EFF has reached unprecedented levels of support. With a left-wing coalition seemingly on the horizon, the EFF may be facing a predicament. However the party's leader Pennti Linkola remains jovial, assured of his party's success. The DPPA seems overly confident of their victory come election day, having cancelled any rallies, perhaps providing the EFF time to play catchup.

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: DPPA registers for elections and presents her electoral list, led by Hetman. The Prime Minister has announced that "Preserve Arconia" rally has shown enough to the people of Arconia, and that DPPA plans no more rallies until its victory in the elections. However, local DPPA officials are tasked with organizing non-political mass events, such as fests and concerts, which would put the population in a positive mood and encourage it to participate in social life more.
  • Forward Arconia: Seeing the success of rallies, the FA orders some in Kaschowia, promising social security programs, more government funding, and an eradication of poverty. Posters are raised there, showing what a welfare state can do, and Bronziv leads a rally there. He also contacts the CDU, ready to announce a coalition that could tip the scales. He also presents his electoral list, with names from across the country, strengthening his policies of diversity. He asks the CDU to give their list, and they may be merged together. Meanwhile, Brajan ensures that his campaigns in other provinces are not forgotten, and starts a tour of the entire country, finishing in Wendburg, with a speech in their capital, each one promising ideals favourable to the people there. Fiery speeches, denouncing the DPPA as 'a totalitarian monster made by totalitarian monsters', are held everywhere, mainly by the party's politicians from those provinces. It's useful what a little diversity can do...
  • Arconian Marxist-Leninist Party : Dear comrades, the results of the new polls haven't been the most welcoming. We have lost half of our support, and have returned to what our numbers were during the start of the campaign. It is with a heavy heart that we shall continue on campaigning. For the spirit of the true Marxist Leninists still remain! And so i have come before you today, to deliver the news that the Marxist-Leninist will be creating a new media outlet, The People's Thesis. Which will deliver the Marxist-Leninist party's platform and agenda. Hopefully this media outlet will help the party move up in the polls! Now, it is time for me, Haruspex, to destroy the vile essence that is destroying Arconia, the DPPA and Julius Hetman himself!

When we analyze the practice of Hetman in regard to the direction of the party and of the country, when we pause to consider everything which Hetman

perpetrated, we must be convinced that Lenin's fears of a cult of personality were justified. The negative characteristics of Hetman, which, in Lenin's time, were what Stalin had been. As the last few years Hetman had done a series of grave abuses of power, which caused untold harm to our country...

Hetman acted not through persuasion, explanation, and patient cooperation with people, but by imposing his concepts and demanding absolute submission to his opinion. Whoever opposed this concept or tried to prove his viewpoint, and the correctness of his position was doomed to removal from the leading collective and to subsequent moral and physical annihilation. This was especially true when many prominent party leaders and rank-and-file party workers, honest and dedicated to the cause of communism, fell victim to Hetman's despotism...

Hetman originated the concept enemy of the people in Arconia, that's who Hetman is. This term automatically rendered it unnecessary that the ideological errors of a man or men engaged in a controversy be proven; this term made possible the usage of the most cruel repression, violating all norms of revolutionary legality, against anyone who in any way disagreed with Hetman, against those who were only suspected of hostile intent, against those who had bad reputations. This concept, enemy of the people, actually eliminated the possibility of any kind of ideological fight or the making of one's views known on this or that issue, even those of a practical character. In the main, and in actuality, the only proof of guilt used, against all norms of current legal science, was the confession of the accused himself, and, as subsequent probing proved, confessions were acquired through physical pressures against the accused...

Lenin used severe methods only in the most necessary cases, when the exploiting classes were still in existence and were vigorously opposing the revolution, when the struggle for survival was decidedly assuming the sharpest forms, even including a civil war.

So, we must remove Hetman and the DPPA menace from all of Arconia. And so we must do better, and we will do better!

We are absolutely certain that our party, armed with the historical resolutions of the time, will lead the Arconian people along the Leninist path to new, successes, to new victories.

Long live the victorious banner of our party-Leninism!

  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : With the DFLA falling in the polls, despite gaining a small amount of voters, Party leader Medgyessy has announced that he is doubling down on the Medgyessy is still on the campaign trail, attempting to take advantage of the DPPA's fall in the polls. He is currently continuing his campaigning in Podunia and Kaschowia, attempting to capture the vote of the Pro-western and welfare dependent populations. Still, there is no further news about the potential debate, and uncertainty fills the air. Medgyessy is still in favor of a debate but decides to instead focus on writing the Party's platform while the uncertainty over the debate continues.

  • The Eco-Fascist Report: Pennti Linkola sees a major threat with a possible left-wing coalition and believes in the only way to keep up is to coerce conservatives and moderate right-leaning voters into not necessarily whole-heartily supporting the party but by viewing the party as the lesser of two evils. Enter tactical voting. A number of ads will be aired targeting right-leaning voters in the seemingly politically moderate region of Podunia. They will highlight and dramatize the consequences of a leftist government either from a party coalition or the DPPA. Next, the ads will show how no other party stands a chance against them other than the EFF. Finally, the ads will demonstrate how the EFF supports a tough crime stance against smuggling, largely caused by "degeneracy", and stands firm with the ideals of Western society. The ads will be followed up by Linkola visiting the region's poorest areas stricken by smuggling to back up the EFF's tough on crime stance, making bold promises to end the smuggling and vaguely alluding to certain groups of people being responsible. In his speeches, he will downplay his party's intervention in individual affairs. After campaigning in Podunia, Linkola will return to Jediguria and do multiple rallies playing up almost the party's entire unabashed message, away from the eyes of national media in more important regions. The purpose of this is to keep his hardcore base in line and energized. Meanwhile, the EFF Report will hire libertarians and conservatives talk show hosts, who will be allowed to run messages contrary to the party's platform minimally, but still feed into the talking point that the EFF is the only reasonable party to support in order to prevent a leftist government from taking power.
  • The People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz continued campaigning in Kaschowia, getting ready for the upcoming debate scheduled soon. He also visits other regions. He visits Podunia, where he downplays his party's intervention in individual affairs. He also decides to start mass producing merchandise: hats, t-shirts, mugs modelled in the image of Vike Spinz with slogans emblazoned sideways across them and up and down. These are hugely popular and are distributed across the country. Vike Spinz seems to be getting bolder. He appears on national television several times. "Continuity with change, that's our message," he declared one day. "We need to seamlessly uproot the current regime." Later on, he discusses his upcoming debate with Miklos Medygessy: "I promise you, it will happen any day now," he laughed. "Let me tell you - if you want something said, ask Miklos Medygessy. If you want something done, ask Vike Spinz." He brushes off the "Preserve Arconia" Rally: "Preserve Arconia? If you vote for him, you'll be preserving it in mud! Mummifying it. Do you think any of us will be able to get out again if you do that? I offer to you now, the people of Arconia, an opportunity - democracy. Democracy! I urge you to reach for it. All it takes is crossing a box on a ballot. The wrong cross in the wrong box - I think we all know which box - will seal our fates." Smiling, he adds, "The DPP still hasn't managed to climb back up to where they were in the polls before I started my campaign and stole all their voters. The ten thousand people who attended that rally were probably turned off by it. The best argument in favour of democracy is five minutes of listening to Julius Hetman give a speech."

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia, the People's Welfare Party, Forward Arconia Party and the Arconian Marxist-Leninist Party. They are now available for wider audience.

While DFLA and PWP continue to prepare to a debate (which should happen soon, since there's not much time left), Forward Arconia has become the first opposition party to present her own electoral list. This party is falling in polls, which can be attributed to lack of media coverage, however, the latest developments would certainly bring FA more supporters. AMLA seems to understand the importance of media coverage and has created a newspaper of her own, however, the entirety of AMLA team comes from Krischadia, which would certainly decrease the effectiveness of Marxist-Leninist propaganda in other regions.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia and the People's Welfare Party. They are now available for wider audience.

It looks like DFLA is in a middle of another scandal once again. The official Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party platform looks like a copy of the 1988 Democratic Party Platform. This rip-off is so blatant, that Medgyessy even speaks of "fundamental principles for all members of the American family". What a present for both Spinz and Hetman!

National Reporter[]

National Reporter has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for wider audience.

Linkola's visit to Podunia has been a disaster. The EFF leader has made it perfectly clear that he would fight against smuggling, blaming all the region's problems on this activity... However, smuggling has been largely beneficial for Podunians for decades, and has become an industry providing jobs for tens of thousands of locals. Smuggling is one of the reasons Podunia is one of the richest regions in Arconia, and Linkola's threats to fight against smuggling were met with abhorrence. EFF is still rising in polls, however, largely thanks to propaganda among other right-wing groups.

The EFF Report[]

The EFF Report has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for a wider audience

Pennti Linkola's efforts have backfired in Podunia but nonetheless the party continues to rise in polling. Not discouraged, he continues to hold rallies in previously targeted areas while visiting small rural communities with farmers, vowing to protect and subsidize their farms. All the while, libertarian and conservative thinkers and pundits will continue to push on our network that the EFF is not a "toxic" party and is the best chance in the nation to push back against the left-wing.

The Democratic Times[]

The Democratic Times has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia and the People's Welfare Party. They are now available for wider audience.

The DFLA and PWP are expected to be debate each other in the next few days. In the meantime, the Democratic Times has published the DFLA's electoral list. Pundits are also continuously attacking the DPPA, and it's leader Hetman, denouncing the them as "corrupt".

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: DPPA launches an agressive media campaign, aimed to ridicule the so called "democrats". The People's Tribune newspaper openly laughs at Medgyessy and his platform, comparing its text to that of the 1988 Democratic Party Platform. Pro-government media use this opportunity to claim that all the democrats are just as unimaginative and deceiving as Medgyessy, and that Arconians should never trust politicians with similar political views.
  • Forward Arconia: Seeing where this is going, Bronziv sends his politicians to their respective provinces, with leaflets and newspapers. A speech on the DPPA is published in the Worker's Journal, declaring the party to be a 'complete mess, that uses the government, not the politicians, to win elections'. The electoral list begins to expand, recruiting locally in each province. Brajan travels to the capital and starts a rally, throwing in everything the party has, in front of government buildings and on the streets.
  • The People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz readied himself for the debate thoroughly. He gets rested and well-fed just beforehand. The debate would be filmed by a crew hired by Vike Spinz and televised throughout Arconia. For the debate, Vike Spinz dressed in a "smart casual" suit that accentuated his impressive figure and made him stand out. As the debate was scheduled to go on through to evening, the film crew brought studio lights with them to make sure people could see the stage as it got darker. Vike Spinz suggested casually they turn these up to the maximum, knowing that as he was tanned and used to sunbathing, they would have little effect on him but hoped they would make the pale Miklos Medygessy sweat and look rather haggard. Vike Spinz used his favourite tactics during the debate of gamesmanship and one-upmanship. Everytime Miklos Medygessy was making an important point, Vike Spinz would interrupt, or cough, or distract the audience with his moustache, so that Medygessy would lose his concentration and break off in mid-sentence. He only brought up the rehashed DFLA platform directly once, pointing out that opposition groups, in particular the Democratic People's Party led by Julius Hetman, were taking advantage of it to attack supporters of democracy: "Is this really who you want to lead the fight against undemocratic forces in this country? This man who only serves to discredit our movement, time and time again?" - but throughout the night made various asides and mischievous references to it. For instance, everytime Miklos Medygessy attempted to stir up the audience with his rhetoric, or made some cliched statement, Vike Spinz would wryly ask, "Ah! You know, Mik, that sounds a little bit familiar... did you plagiarize that as well?" gaining appreciative laughter from the audience. When at one point Medygessy mentions the "Arconian family", Vike Spinz chuckles, "Don't you mean the American family?" Vike Spinz is conscious he could appear too loud and brash in comparison to the silent, more thoughtful Medygessy, so also researches the issues deeply so he appears, at least, to know what he's talking about. He tries his best to come across as more knowledgeable and more confident than Medygessy. When Medygessy tries to make a point about collaborating with opposition groups and forming a coalition, Vike Spinz shakes his head and sighs, "Mikky, it's a pity you don't understand. If you've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow" - which quickly becomes a soundbite. Vike Spinz emphasizes that he is open to a coalition with other parties, "but unlike you, Miklos, I'm not willing to go off with just any old party - the Fascists are way out of line" (although Medygessy never actually mentions collaborating with right-wing groups, Vike Spinz implies that he did). Vike Spinz knows their party platforms are actually very similar, so goes out of his way to emphasize their individual differences, portraying the People's Welfare Party in a positive light in comparison. "Power has only one duty - to secure the social welfare of the people," quotes Vike Spinz. When Miklos Medygessy attempts to make another point, Vike Spinz towers over him, his moustache bristling, and cries, "Think, Mik. Think!" To some extent Vike Spinz relies on his charismatic personality to stand out on the stage and get "one up" on Miklos Medygessy. He closes the debate by thanking the audience for "coming to see me" and thanks Miklos Medygessy for his "spirited competition" and says Medygessy deserves congratulations for his "participation". "I can see you put a lot of effort into this," Vike Spinz says, winking. Later on, Vike Spinz and the People's Welfare Party present their own electoral list. Vike Spinz also continues to campaign across the country. He visits Podunia after the debate, and, while he does not explicitly say he supports smuggling, promises "not to interfer with however Podunian businessmen wish to express themselves", and meets with prominent wealthy sponsors in the area with ties to the smuggling trade. He continues distributing merchandise and advertizes the debate, which will be broadcast.
  • The Eco-Fascist Front: Linkola ceases his visit to Podunia and returns to Jediguria to re-think his strategy. Nonetheless, campaign ads will continue to be aired in the region emphasizing the disaster of a left-wing government and how the EFF will be a bulwark against one, and that it isn't an extreme party. However the message of being anti-smuggling will be ditched altogether. These ads are designed to rope in centre-right voters on the fence for who to support. Back in Jediguria, Linkola hits the campaign trail once more, visiting Welkobudovia to emphasize a more fascist message as he had done previously in the region. He also returns to Maramania, this time instead simply laying out a plan of agriculture reform to return land back to those who had it wrongfully collectivized rather than battering the people on their troubled past. Meanwhile in Wendburg, EFF operatives will work with younger people who had been previously lulled into supporting the party, to form an environmentalist group that will help rope in more young Arconians and get more young voters and possibly those older to turnout for the EFF. This group will do multiple rallies to further spread the EFF's environmentalist message, while ignorantly leaving out its fascist and authoritarian message. Hopefully, when all is said and done, the group would have gathered an even larger following for the EFF from younger voters, who unlike most younger citizens who don't vote, will be energized enough to do so.
  • Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia : Miklós Medgyessy entered the candidate's suite, as Vike Spinz challenges him to a debate. The staffers hadn't for such a debate before, as this was the first in Arconian history. So, the preparations began. As Medgyessy was already familiar with the issues, the main challenge was to compress his platform down to the most relevant facts. Medgyessy had 3 practice debate sessions, while his staff researches everything that the Welfare party's leader had ever said or done. To anticipate his answers or find contradictions between his past and present positions. The night before the debate, Medgyessy was well rested and had slept well. He donned a blue suit, the color of his party. To hopefully stand out from the dull grey background. Medgyessy planned to be aggressive, taking the offensive to confront what was widely perceived to be his greatest weakness — his supposed plagiarism — by talking policy, not personality. Every time Spinz attempted to attack (by bringing up/references the "rehashed" DFLA platform), Medgyessy accused him of attempting to deflect from the issues. Every time Spinz attempts to disturb Medgyessy, he just brushed it off. When Spinz uses the soundbite of "If you've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow" retorts with "Spinz, i respect you, but you are a hypocrite. That quote is from Theodore Roosevelt, and you have no merit to criticize my platform for "plagiarism" when you yourself plagiarized that quote. When Spinz attempts too imply that Medgyessy is willing to collaborate with right-wing groups, he said "I did not say that, nor will I ever say that, a fascist is a person who only believes that a society can only live under a totalitarian one-party state, a believe that is beyond a doubt, to be against the policies of my party." The debate ends, with Spinz thanking the audience "coming to see him" and Miklos Medygessy for participating. To which Medygessy responds by turning the tables, as he thanked Spinz for participating. After the end of the debates, Medygessy campaigns on. Publishing a new electoral list for the DFLA.

Worker's Journal[]

Worker's Journal has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia, the People's Welfare Party, and Forward Arconia Party. They are now available for wider audience.

It's always interesting to see something new. DFLA and PWP have hosted a debate in Kaschowia, which is certainly something new, but how effective it was remains unknown. Forward Arconia Party, on the other hand, continues to use traditional tactics of rallying.

Liberty Post[]

Liberty Post has published speeches, produced by the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party of Arconia and the People's Welfare Party. They are now available for wider audience.

The choice of Kaschowia as a place for debate was rather controversial. This is not a province with the highest DFLA and PWP support (Spibor, Dalmarna or Wendburg would've been better options), and its population is not known for active political life. It looks like Spinz was rather successful in discouraging people from supporting Medgyessy, however, it doesn't mean that those same people would vote for PWP instead - Spinz had little to say about a program of his own. Medgyessy's polite tone would perhaps work in Wendburg, but not in Kaschowia - people there see politeness as weakness. The line where Medgyessy blames Spinz for plagiarizing the quote from Theodore Roosevelt, unfortunately, went unnoticed. One of the local Kaschowians has even asked the DT reporter "Who is Teodoru Sewelt?".

National Reporter[]

National Reporter has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for wider audience.

The Eco-Fascist Front seems to apply maximum of its organizational capabilities at this stage of political campaign (which is logical, since the campaign is coming to an end). EFF has seen some limited success in Welkobudowia, however, it's difficult for Linkola to trick urban Wendburgians, who, unlike most of the country, usually have higher education. Maramania was a miss as well. The majority of Maramanian population are former convicts, sent there to prison or forced labor, and they have no ties to the land EFF offers to "return" them. However, EFF is still rising in the ranks and is safely the 2nd most popular party in Arconia. Hopefully, Linkola won't forget to present an electoral list.

The EFF Report[]

The EFF Report has published speeches, produced by the Eco-Fascist Front. They are now available for a wider audience

Linkola has been going all out in the final stretch of the campaign as he is truly appealing to the heart and soul of the nation as a whole with his recent national ads which call on Arconians to maybe not vote with who perfectly aligns with their interests but who stands the best chance at breaking up DPPA rule once and for all. Along with this, he's been holding some of his largest rallies yet. Now he sits in his humble home in Jediguria awaiting the results. As well, he published an electoral list. Gear up people of Arconia, this will be one interesting election.

Parties activity[]

  • Democratic People's Party of Arconia: Despite his best efforts, Hetman can't stop DPPA from celebrating even before the elections are officially over. Victory is firmly in his hands, and the opposition has proven to be a bunch of amateurs with no skills in politics.
  • The Eco-Fascist Front: As the end of the campaign draws near, the EFF publishes its electoral list. Meanwhile, Linkola ups his rallies, holding rallies teeming with thousands of people in Jediguria, Welkobudovia, and Maramania to achieve maxed out support and energy behind the party. In a final dramatic bid, the EFF airs ads nationwide in all regions depicting the DPPA's victory as coming near, and with it the return to the status quo. The ad then goes on to say that all Arconians must unite under the EFF, perhaps not as a matter of personal political preference but of the sake of their own country, as no other party stands a chance. On the ground game, EFF workers will work day and night, calling potential voters, going door by door, and holding mini-speeches from EFF speakers in bars and other public places. In Jediguria, Linkola says to those of the region that you are not truly a Jedigur if you vote for the opposition parties and you are going against your own very people. In Welkobudovia, Linkola will continue his anti-globalist, nationalist, and preservation of pure Arconian culture message in his rallies there. And in Maramania, after so many hit and miss attempts at messaging to the people there, Linkola will instead focus on smaller rallies amongst rural communities, where he'll promise to protect their land rights and their agrarian way of life. When all is said and done, Linkola returns to Jediguria once more to sit out the election results.
  • Forward Arconia: Brajan orders one, final, full rally in the capital. There, the party reiterates its diverse choice on its electoral list, its policies to reshape the nation, and the great work of Brajan Bronziv to ensure that Arconia rises onto the world stage. The remaining campaign funds are used to further the prominence of the rally. Speeches are made across the city, each one with a different platform- a welfare state, a democratic government, and so on.
  • Civic Democratic Union Party: The CDU returns after a quiet period, much to the detriment of their previously campaign, with the popularity that had been gathering seemingly dissipating with the lack of action. Anastasia Vulkas, over the while, had busied herself working with democratic elements in Arconian society and, naturally enough, the party paper continued circulation. In a surprise move, this afternoon Vulkas addressed a press conference and she had this to say, "It is the intent of the CDU to throw its support behind the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party. We seek to form, officially, a coalition government whereby Medygessy might take the helm of Prime Minister and I would act as junior partner along with the CDU in such a junior position. We believe that with such an Election Alliance there emerges a hope that democracy will succeed and the ruling party, which has helmed the country for so long and driven it to near collapse, might be removed at long last. With such an agreement and alliance we would encourage our supporters to behave with a tactical vote, one for our presumptive coalition partner. We, the CDU, further encourage the remaining democratic parties in the race to consider building upon this solid coalition idea. This election must be a Spring for Arconia. Not a perpetual Winter. Thank you and God bless Arconia."
  • The People's Welfare Party: Vike Spinz engages in a last bout of heavy campaigning across the country. He suggests that he would not be unwilling to form a coalition with Miklos Medygessy if it was the only way to oust Hetman from power. He now refers to Hetman as his "archnemesis" - "We're like Pat Garret and Billy the Kid... like Borg and McEnroe... like God and the Devil." In the long term, forming a coalition could later lead to Vike Spinz fulfilling his preordained destiny as leader and Prime Minister of the country. "I don't much like Mik, as you all know," he says, "nor do I think much of him. But, for the sake of the people, I would be willing to join forces with him, because, if there is a coalition formed, it would be better for the Arconian people if I was in it than if I was out of it, I feel. And I'm sure they feel the same way." Despite this last-minute talk of a coalition, Vike Spinz nevertheless continues to encourage people to vote for him and champions himself as the people's last hope for democracy. He turns up at the polls and is filmed voting for himself: "Vote Vike like Vike." With his People's Welfare Moustache flapping in the breeze, Vike Spinz sets off into the Sunset, with great things to come awaiting him, no doubt.
