The 2016 UEFA European Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2016 or simply Euro 2016, was the eighth European Football Championship, and the second one since Doomsday. The tournament was held in Lille-et-Terres-Flamande from 10 June to 10 July 2016. Celtic Alliance were the defending champions but were eliminated in the semifinals by Portugal, who won the tournament for the first time following a 1-0 victory after extra time over the host nation Lille-et-Terres-Flamande played in the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
