The United Kingdom or British Empire was the largest empire in history and covered a quarter of the world's land throughout its height. It has had colonies on every continent. Its culture and language have spread all over the world. It finally collapsed in 1916 with the ceasefire of the British Civil War and the exile of the British Imperial Government and the King to Norway.
