Unamiland Fylk is Álengiamark's largest fylk. It lies between Margirhaedeyja to the north and Drottningr Bay to the south. The bay divides it from the main body of Nanticokeland though it also has a short border with the fylk. To the west lies Aniyunwiya and Susquehanockland. The population is 2,854,500 and the capital is Wíssahiconhur.

History

The Lenni, or Lenape, peoples who once lived throughout Álengiamark's western territory were particularly strong in the south along the Lenni River which takes their name. They would form a small kingdom which flourished in the 11th century as Norse farming techniques filtered westward. This state, already laid low by disease, would be completely overrun by the all-conquering Aniyunwiya in the 1230s. Several Aniyunwiyan lords would divide up the rich farmlands and eventually it fell under the sway of Álengiamark where it would remain after the collapse of the Aniyunwiyan Empire.

Far from the weakening centre of power in St. Hafdiss the local Álengsk or Aniyunwiyan lords could tax and abuse the population as they wished, yet increasingly they became isolated as the Aniyunwiyan lands collapsed into anarchy and raids became constant and overwhelming. The ravages of the Black Death wiped out whole towns, destroying the continuity of many Lenni groups. Eventually during Elin III's reign revolt broke out thoughout the entire western half of Álengiamark.

Following the 'Great Unami Revolt' Unamiland would remain with Álengiamark (as would Nanticokeland) though various other peoples received their independence. Many Lenni fled north to the Six Nations fearing reprisals and the extensive farmland was eagerly reoccupied by Norse and Quiripi lords leading to a complete loss of the Unami language and customs. Despite this most of the Fylk's counties carry the names of the original tribal groups (such as Mantaesmark or Atsayonkmark). The lack of continuation between old and new meant the new Unamiland was much less in thrall to the old earl families but also leant itself to being divided up into much smaller lordships. The modern fylk was formed in 1742 during the reforms of Herridr I from the piecemeal holdings of various minor lords as well as extensive crown land, and indeed its early embrace of the reforms gave the Fylkthing in Wíssahiconhur a chance to help shape the limits of fylk powers.

A large proportion of the population lies on or around the Lenni River and the interior of Unamiland is filled with characteristic rolling hills and fertile soil. The outer coastal areas have sandy soil and are pretty poor for farming though the islands along the coastline have recently become favoured destinations for Álengsk holiday-makers. The interior is dominated by an extensive pine forest, supposedly haunted by a hideous flying goat-like creature.
