Uncharted is a video game series developed by Naughty Dog and published by Universal Interactive. It stars treasure hunter Nathan Drake and a cast of colorful characters.
Gameplay[]
The Uncharted series is known for its hybrid of action-adventure, third-person shooter, and platforming gameplay in a fairly realistic setting. Weapon selection is varied, but limited to only a couple of choices at a time. Although the series started as a single-player only affair, the sequel added a multiplayer mode.
History[]
Naughty Dog began the development of the original Uncharted in early 2005. It was released for both the Pluto and Revolution consoles, like its two sequels, on November 19, 2007. Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 would come out in 2009 and 2011, mostly keeping the same gameplay, but taking place in new settings, expanding the story, and adding multiplayer.
Reception[]
The Uncharted series is one of the most successful new series of the past few years, especially from a Western developer and publisher. The three entries in the series have sold a combined total of over 18 million games since late 2011 across two platforms. Furthermore, the games have also been highly reviewed, with all three games receiving awards for their quality.
