The United Nations is an international organization promoting world-cooperation. It was set up in 1945 after its predecessor, the League of Nations, failed to prevent the Second World War.

One of its goals to promote international peace and prosperity, as well as with human and economic development in the poverty-stricken countries.

Zombie Fish Worm Outbreak

Initial Steps

During the Zombie Fish Worm outbreak of 2017, the United Nations held an emergency meeting regarding the nature of the pandemic. It was decided that safe zones were to be created in areas were there is a geographic barrier that serves to impede the infection's progress. Refugees however have to be properly screened. United Nations peacekeepers were to aid the local military in the screening of refugees and the neutralization of the infected.

Relocating to Geneva

New York City was heavily hit hard with the infection. The NYPD along with the New York National Guard could no longer guarantee to provide protection to the United Nations General Headquarters located in Midtown Manhattan. As a result, Secretary-Heneral António Guterres ordered the the UN General Assembly to relocate to Geneva. The UN Flag and the flags of the other countries were lowered. Within hours, helicopters of the NYPD and the National Guard evacuated the delegates to JFK International Airport where a UN-chartered plane awaited them. From there, the plane took them to Geneva.

The now-empty headquarters was then used as a Forward Operating Base and an emergency command post for the NYPD and the U.S. military.

The UN Now

The UN has relocated to Geneva where they continue to run operations there. Various UN peacekeepers stranded around the world remain in place, often helping the local militaries clear the infected or secure refugee camps.

Peacekeeping Force

The UN peacekeeping is force is considered the military arm of the organizations. Peacekeepers come from all member countries. Their equipment varies depending from what country the peacekeeper comes from, hence why some are armed with the M16, M4A1, G36, G3 and the AK-47 (or AK series of rifles). The UN peacekeepers have armored vehicles and tanks such as the AIFVs, M113s, BTR, BMP, and the T-72. Their aircraft fleet mainly consists of C-130, C-47, UH-1 Huey, Mi-6 Hip, and the Mi-24 Hind. All their vehicles have the words UN painted on them to distinguish between state combatants.

Peacekeepers are ordered not to engage unless fired upon. With the pandemic ongoing, peacekeepers have been ordered to anything necessary to maintain order in the areas they are deployed on.
