The United States of America is a nation in North America that borders Canada to the north, Mexico to the south, and has maritime borders with Siberia,Puerto Rico, and Denmark(via the Virgin Islands).
Native Americans have settled the country for thousands of years before European settlement. In 1607, Jamestown was founded, marking the beginning for non Natives to settle in the country. In 1789, George Washington was elected president, marking the de facto beginning of the United States.
From 1912 to 1935, the USA had a three party system; however, in 1940 the Republican and Democratic parties merged to become the National Party, which has since dominated politics ever since.
Today, the United States is the only global superpower, and is a developing nation.

Education[]
Education in the United States is known for its strong local powers, with limited to no federal and state powers. Subjects, requirements, grading, and even sports are determined by school districts. Generally speaking, students learn math, English, science, social studies(this can vary on school, so for example, history is taught in most grades while geography is only taught in high school) ,health(usually starts in 2nd to 5th grade with a maturation program, but some schools, particularly in the New York City area, start it as early as kindergarten),FACS,and a foreign language. While not a mandated rule, about 80% of U.S. school districts require a teaching in a second language. Standardized testing is non existent, except for college admissions tests.
School terms vary widely throughout the country, varying as low as 140 days to as high as 300 days.
Inequality defines schools in the United States. In wealthy schools, scores are some of the best in the world, with first class facilities. However, poor schools struggle to get funding and proper teaching, with extremely low scores and lack of facilities,
