The United States of America, commonly referred to as America, or the United States, is Federal Republic composed of 74 states, a federal district and three major territories in the Pacific. In total, the United States has 76 States. 74 of the Contiguous mainland States along with Washington DC are found on the mainland of North America. The State of Hawaii is the only state outside the mainland and is a combination of all three major US territories in the Pacific Ocean composed of the Hawaiian Islands, Honolulu and Johnston Atoll. The USA is the largest country in the world, bigger than Russia (including when it was at its peak of size as the 'Soviet Union') and the United States of Columbia. It is also the third most populous nation in the world rivaling the massive population of its sister nation the United States of Columbia. It is also one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations in the world due to being the product of large-scale immigration from many countries around the world. The geography and climate of the United States of America is also extremely diverse, and is the home to a wide variety of wildlife.

The United States of America emerged from the 13 original British colonies along the East Coast of the North American continent. Major disputes between the economically struggling Great Britain and the colonies of North America led to the American Revolution on June 4, 1776. This revolution is what led to the American Revolutionary War between the Unionists led by George Washington against British forces from Europe, delegates from the 13 colonies unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence. The war ended in 1783 with recognition of the independence of the United States of America by the Kingdom of Great Britain, and was the first successful war of independence against a European colonial empire. Instantly after gaining independence, the USA immediately began funding and supporting their future 'Sister Nation - Columbia, in a conflict similar to their own war for independence against Great Britain.

The country's constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787, and ratified by all states in 1788. The first ten amendments of the 'American Constitution', collectively named the "Amendments for the Rights of Men", were ratified in 1791 and designed to guarantee many fundamental civil liberties. The American Constitution stands as an equivalent to the 'Columbian Constitution', which both countries had written together, although disagreeing on certain issues, particularly the enslavement of black people, which always bothered the first Columbian States President Miles Lexington, which caused disputes and some tensions between the two countries. Although none of this would destroy their partnership, at some point in time, the issue of slavery almost did, as the Columbians were completely against slavery, whilst the Americans, were hellbent on maintaining it.

Due to drastic similarities in policy, ideology and style of governance, as well as mutual interests in ensuring the maintenance of their independence against the British Empire as well as all of Europe, both the United States of America and the United States of Columbia would sign the "Amalgamation Treaty of the Americas (ATA)" in 1795. This was an Economic, Industrial and Military alliance between the two countries, and compelled both to inscribe this partnership via their capital cities. This would lead to both nations recognizing their respective capital cities as enclaves to citizens of the other, permanently tying the two nations together. This would lead to the Columbian capital being referred to as Lexington AD, or Lexington 'District of America', and the American capital being referred to as Washington DC, or Washington 'District of Columbia'. It was with the creation of this organization, that both nations would be referred to as "Sister Nations" by the world, with America being the bigger sister and Columbia being the younger one.

Driven largely by the doctrine of the 'Manifest Destiny', which was a belief held by Americans that they were destined by God to govern and rule the continent of North America, the United States had embarked on a vigorous expansion across North America throughout the 19th century. This expansion would begin with a series of land purchases, particularly the Louisiana Purchase, which allowed the USA to buy up a significant chunk of the Midwest from France. Eventually, this expansion was translated into a series of genocidal attacks on the Amazonian Tribes, leading to their depopulation on a massive scale. Like their Columbian brothers on the South America continent, this expansion entailed the complete transformation of the North American landscape, culture and political authority. This involved displacing American Indian tribes, acquiring new territories, and gradually admitting new states into the union. This continued until by 1848, the nation spanned the entire North American continent. Although the nation claimed to be a democracy, slavery still continued. During the second half of the 19th century however, the American Civil War (1861-1865) that would occur between the USA and the rebel state - Confederate States of America (CSA), had changed this, officially ending legal slavery in the country after intervention from both the United States of Columbia and the original United States of America, would lead to the successful repression of the rebellion carried out by the CSA. By the end of that century, the United States had extended into the Pacific Ocean, where it owned multiple territories.

Although the 13th Amendment passed by Abraham Lincoln successfully ended slavery in America, segregation based on the unequal distribution of wealth and the ostracizing of black people by white Americans would immediately begin afterwards - particularly in the States that formerly belonged to what was the Confederate States of America, e.g., Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Florida, etc. This racism is what would lead to many Columbians believing that America was not fully satisfying the philosophies of the 'Autarky Doctrine', which the Americans boasted about having mastered. Some Columbian philosophers had also argued that the Doctrine of 'Laissez Faire Capitalism', which like the USC, the United States represented, was actually being violated as "the oppression of black people limited their opportunities, thus destroying their ability to perform well in the economy, thus being unrealistic to regard such a system as fully fledged capitalism where ALL civilians are given a chance to compete fairly". This State-backed racism would continue for an entire century or so, until the emergence of the CS funded Civil Rights Movement (derived from Columbia's "Afro Movement" from the mid-1800s) from the 1950s-60s as well as the Black Power Movement of the 60s. These movements would lead to a universal repeal of the discriminatory policies of the racist States in America via the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as well as the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

The United States is a highly developed country and has the world's second largest national economy by nominal and real GDP, benefiting from an abundance of natural resources, high worker productivity and massive industrial complexes. While the US economy is considered to be post-industrial, the country continues to be one of the world's largest manufacturers. Accounting for a staggering percentage of global military spending and world GDP. It is the world's foremost military and economic power, a prominent political and cultural force, and a leader in scientific research and technological innovations alongside it's sister nation - the United States of Columbia.

After the brutal conflict of World War II, the United States would emerge as one of the three global Superpowers, with a massive industrial, military and economic complex, alongside the Columbian States and the Soviet Union. The Cold War that would follow between the world Superpowers would end with the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, leaving the United States of America and the United States of Columbia as the two remaining Superpowers, ushering the entire planet into a new world order.
