There have been so many different ways to do Alternate History that I have seen here on the Wikia, with some keeping certain people, places and ideas the same while others go and change everything to make it as unlike real history as possible. I fall somewhere in the middle between these two extremes, and I want to explain it today, and my made up theory when it comes to the multiverse, and how I use it to explain things.
There are two important things when it comes to Alternate History: how to make it similar yet different from our world, and how to make the changes stand out yet also blend in. It's hard to do this, much less outline a formula to make it clear. That is where keeping people, places and ideas similar to our world is importan…Read more >
It's to the point now where I have done so much on French Trafalgar, British Waterloo that I'm about ready to put it on the back burner and prepare to move on.
This does not mean that FTBW is done. Far from it. However, I've been loosing interest in actually adding much more at the moment, and maybe what I need is to take a step away, and work on a new Timeline for a while.
I've gotten a lot of help from a lot of people (so many that I can't remember all of you: if you are interested, go through my Talk Page archives lol), and I can't thank you guys enough. I will periodically come back to FTBW, as it is still the biggest, best TL that I ever made, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I'll hopefully have my new TL up and going…Read more >
Alright folks, I've been away for a while, but now I'm back, and I need you!
Right now, French Trafalgar, British Waterloo is my pièce de résistance but it is still a long ways away from being finished. I know that I will never be able to do all I want to do, becuase, frankly, I'm not a huge movie, music, sports, TV, culture, literature or economics person. My forte is the broad strokes of history, and that is what I have at the moment, with several tepid starts into those details that makes an Alternate History more than a theoretical exercise, but a piece of art and beauty. I will never get to 1983: Doomsday's level of sheer information and knowledge, but I would like to try!
So, I want you! If you would like to help me working on some of th…Read more >
...and I have no idea where to start D:
So, what I am trying to do is making a Total Conversion mod for the Grand Strategy game Hour: A Hearts of Iron Game. The subject of said mod will, as of this moment, be my own French Trafalgar, British Waterloo timeline, from a period stretching from 1936 to 1963, as in the actual game.
Now, I have a problem. Total information overload and indecision. Okay, two problems: total information overload and indecision. And lack of talent... okay, three problems... total information overload, indecision, lack of talent. And procrastination. OKAY, FOUR problems: total information overload, indecision, lack of talent, and procrastination. And the lack of nice red uniforms. OH DAMN IT!!
Anyway: the people at the …Read more >
