Welcome (and spelling)
Welcome, EoGuy. I see you have been busy this weekend correcting spelling. One thing that will speed up the process, if you are not already doing so, is to edit in "Source" mode. That should have spell check enabled. Spell check does not work in "Visual" mode. However, the spelling seems to be set on British English, so many words, like "favor" and "theater" will show up as misspellings.
A majority of the users, it seems, are high school students that do not seem to be interested in spelling. In fact, they are mostly into gaming (as in video, not gambling). When they write stories, they apparently always use Visual mode and do not read over what they have written to check for spelling or grammar. There is no electronic grammar check on this site, so we older editors are on our own there!
I am 59 and "semi-retired" myself. I am presently somewhat active as an administrator on this site, so feel free to contact me at any time. SouthWriter 01:14, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
- Hello SouthWriter and EoGuy! First, I'd like to thank you for correcting the spelling of the Liberal German Empire article. Second, I have to add to SouthWriter's comment: Yes, many contributors seem to be youngsters applying internet-mumble to this wiki. Many others, though, just like myself are simply non-native English speakers. Thus whatever mistakes we make, please just correct them without judgement, thank you! :) --ComradeMicha (talk) 16:37, March 10, 2014 (UTC)
How do I do that?
How do I change to show spelling errors? EoGuy 03:09, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
- First, be sure to post your questions while editing either your own talk page or that of the one you mean to address. I prefer continuing strings at point of origin. That is, answering questions on the same page upon which they were asked. One of our "junior" administrators (we call them "Constables" and they can revert pages after improper edits have been made to them) saw an unauthorized change to my profile page and I had to check the history to see your post.
- Okay, to the business at hand. First, there is editing help available at the click of the mouse, that is in the upper right hand corner of the page ("Need Help Editing?"). That has step-by-step instructions with links to other pages. It opens in a new tab automatically.
- But to answer your question, look at the top center of the editing page. You are most likely in Visual mode. There are two tabs: one says Visual and the other says "Source." Click on "Source." You will notice that the extras on the side disappear and commands are printed in the text (the links in double brackets and the colons). It is more difficult to edit in this mode, but it catches spelling errors (see your user name and the UTC. When only correcting spelling, it is good to check the "Minor edit" box under the "Source" tab in this mode. Be aware that the spell checker apparently is defaulted to British English, so some words will be marked incorrect if spelled by Americans. You can add American spellings to your online "dictionary" in the editor, or you just ignore these as alternate spellings. We have a large British and Canadian contingency on the wiki.
- Also, you can preview before publishing by clicking on the "Preview" button. There are two buttons at the bottom of the Preview screen allowing you to returen to editing or publish.
- Below are the Visual and Source modes as screen shots to help you if you need them. Happy editing! --SouthWriter 16:32, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
Virginian Comics Spelling Corrections
I thank you for correcting the many spelling errors I left in the Virginian Comics page. However, I must state that you are mistaken about the name of Deathshead's organization. I must admit I misspelled it too. Neither "Werewolves" or "Wehrwolves" was correct. I named them after a commando group formed late in the war.

Well done with all of the spelling and grammar work, Eo. Certainly could use it.
But I have to ask - could you please not do it with talk pages?
Thanks.

Look, TBYA is a closed TL. If you want to do spell check and/or grammar corrctions, ask me for permission. First time you edited my page, I thought you vandalized it. RandomWriterGuy (talk) 06:53, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Ignore his note. I've chewed him out for it - and it is not the first time he's done this. He is in no way able to say such a thing. Lordganon (talk) 08:12, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Eoguy, i appreciate your spelling/corrections and whatnot but please DO NOT edit Vive La Revolution Reloaded. I wish to keep it as it was, essentially maintaining the integrity of the page.AP (talk) 23:53, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
Again, Eo, I've chewed AP out for it too.
Ignore his post. Go ahead and fix as you desire.
Lordganon (talk) 23:49, August 7, 2012 (UTC)
He has no right to say anything like that to anyone - nor do any of these guys. If they do it again I could actually block them for it. Moreover, you are allowed to do that on any page you want - the rules explicitly say it, even. Heck, if some of them do that again just remind them of that.
And yes, I read your explanation.
Lordganon (talk) 04:52, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
Yes. I did recieve the explanation of the article, and I thank you for it. I could never get those two right. Enclavehunter (talk) 06:03, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
EoGuy, I would really appreciate your understanding in this; in my timeline the Slavic language is such that 'novo' means new and 'grod' means city, rather than 'nov' and 'gorod'. So in my timeline it is Novogrod. I'm not talking about the OTL city (even though they sit on nearly the same spot). The two places are different. It is supposed to be Novogrod, I'm not saying in OTL it's Novogrod. A number of places in my timeline go by variations of the OTL names. I'm saying this is because I've become too worried that I'll be blocked if I keep changing it back and Lordganon isn't replying to my pleas. So I really hope you will listen to me and not just say "It's just one word, why are you getting worked up about it?". Please don't ignore my post, these are my pages that I've worked on and this isn't Wikipedia; I'm not making a slur by using Novogrod or misinforming the public or anything. This is one timeline and I created it. I'm not angry at all, this isn't venting- I'm scared that my work is being declared to be not mine. It is Lordganon I know that keeps reversing my change but I'd really, really want your understanding in this so Lordganon will stop changing the word back. And I'm sorry this is such a long post but I've been fretting over this for days and with no one equal to Lordganon in authority I don't know what to do.--TEAKAY (talk) 16:31, September 15, 2012 (UTC)
Kenia (Principia Moderni)
I assume that it was you who "corrected" the spelling of Kenia to Kenya? I didn't misspell it. Kenia is the name of the nation, and it is the Japanese translation of Kenya. I used the Japanese translation because the Vietnamese translation does not exist as far as the internet is conerned. Yank 21:53, August 9, 2012 (UTC)
I understand perfectly. You were so caught up in your duties as a human Spellcheck that you failed to realize that the "mispellings" may have a purpose. And I will pre-emptively say that Gaiana is the same way.

Hi Eo
Thanks for double checking and ammending my spelling where required but could you not alter the link address' as it is decoupling the hyperlinks (Welsh Airforce page for example http://althistory.wikia.com/wiki/Military_Flags_of_Wales_(Welsh_History_Post_Glyndwr)?s=wldiff&diff=0&oldid=593529
Again thanks for helping to clear up some of the spelling issues but if you could leave the link address' be so I avoid having too many red links

Project Agawin: saving Fire Wiki
I have come across a wiki that is in desperate need of a major clean and reboot. None of the Admins have been active for some time. The wiki is all but dead. I am thinking of trying to take over the running, but as I have said it is in major need of a clean up. Would you mind spending some time helping correct grammar and spelling on the wiki? Please? I am asking because a) you do a fantastic job here and b) my spelling is not too good.

No need to act like that, Eo. Lordganon (talk) 08:48, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

Hello. I have been getting emails telling me of your changes regarding the hyphen on restablish and restablisment in my articles. Human-Zombie War
I appreciate your help revising this timeline, but please refrain from changing things for personal preference. Mscoree (talk) 00:39, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
Ignore him, since you did nothing of the sort. Lordganon (talk) 07:07, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
I know you're trying to help, but what I meant was, I'd prefer if you didn't change Turkish to Turks for no reason, and stuff like that. As a side note, I also noticed that you changed "zombies" to "Zombies". If it's not referring to "The Horde" (E.G. "I saw some zombies") than leave it lower case. You wouldn't capitalize the word "human" in the sentence, "I saw some humans", either, so I think it would be better if these were left uncapitalized. Thanks, Mscoree (talk) 19:43, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
Care to elaborate? Mscoree (talk) 20:47, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
Actually I used Turkish as a short hand for the ethnic group known as the "Turkish people." In this sense it is actually a noun. Mscoree (talk) 21:04, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe WWX vs. WW-X (where X is the world war number) is a stylistic choice, and I believe that WWX is the more popular form, and the one used on Wikipedia. As such, I prefer the WWX format.
SCRAWLAND INVICTUS || REX IMPERATOR 18:25, May 25, 2013 (UTC)
I may be missing something, but I was wondering why you capitalize the word zombie on the Human-Zombie War page. It's not a proper noun. It would be like capitalizing the word 'human' in the following sentence, "With human frequency beginning to drop significantly by the late 1980's and early 1990's in the Midwest, many survivor communities began to appear in the Midwest and Southwest United States." Thanks, Mscoree (talk) 15:16, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Zombies vs zombies
I fail to see why you stylize the word "zombies" with a capital "Z." Care to explain?
SCRAWLAND INVICTUS || REX IMPERATOR 05:49, June 27, 2013 (UTC)
Capitalizing the word "zombie" in this sense is wrong. Zombies, when referring to them as a species or group is capitalized, but when you are referring to 'a zombie', just as you would for 'a human', it is not capitalized. This is called the Tolkien Method. Please stop changing all of the NotLAH pages to be incorrect. Mscoree (talk) 14:20, June 27, 2013 (UTC)
Spell-checking file names
Greetings. Recently you corrected the spelling of a file name on one of my pages. However, doing so removes the file I wish to use. Please keep in mind that while clearly this file was named improperly (blame the Russian who wrote it), but correcting file names will remove the file desired from the page. So please do not correct file type names, is all I'm asking.
Other than that, keep up the great work you have been doing on here. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 00:43, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

It's still how incredible that you've become as experienced a user without indulging in any of the usual wiki activitie like making articles or playing map games. And we should always recognize the hard-working people who keep this wiki going. Thanks for your reliable help, and keep up the extremely good work. I'm pretty sure that there will not be very much credible competition for the award, as nobody can compare to your contribution. You've essentially won it now. Yank 18:59, December 3, 2013 (UTC)

I beg to differ, sir, my the evidence behind my words carries some weight. One could say that we are all neighbors on this wiki and we must not go around sticking to rules which are not always correct. After all, carrying around baggage of that sort would be quite a bit of freight.

Hey I know you tend to go through the wiki making corrections, most of them on mine I appreciate. However when you edited United States of Greater Austria (Central Victory), I was cleaning it up so when I went to publish the edit, the page simply refreshed telling me some else, i.e. you, made an edit resulting in ALL the work I had done on it being lost. Please in the future when you see one of my pages like that don't edit them for at least a few hours because my connections are tricky sometimes and I just publish them to get what I had out there and fix them usually on the spot once I have a good connection again. Request
Eo,
I wish I didn't need to ask this of you but I would request that you no longer edit any articles with the Superpowers tag. You're a helpful member of this wiki, as a generalized contributor editing any type of article here, but I've wasted a great deal of time in the last few months reversing your edits of my articles. It's clear that we disagree on stylistic decisions for writing articles on the internet and despite your helpful edits of my articles in the past, your edits have on average been more of a burden for me than a boon. This has especially been the case over the last few months - a period over which nearly all of your edits of my articles have gone against the vision I have of them.
Despite the open nature of the wiki design, articles on this particular wiki are under the customary ownership of their creators, unless those creators have opened their work to community contributions (such as 1983: Doomsday). My timeline Superpowers is not open to such contributions, except by request, and I hope you respect my unwillingness to leave writing decisions of a stylistic nature to other editors such as yourself. Rather than asking you not to make certain types of edits, it seems simplest to ask that you no longer edit any of my articles period, since that only entails ignoring articles tagged with a certain name (an action which I hope is not too difficult to request of you).
Regards,
Red VS Blue (talk) 21:06, May 26, 2014 (UTC)

Cannot vs can not
Cannot or can not? Apparently both are acceptable, but I believe the former is more common in American English and therefore there is no value to changing all instances of "cannot" to "can not" when both are commonly used. Therefore the usage of "cannot" and "can not" should be left alone.

Drydocks
With respect, the word "drydock" may be spelt as either two words (as you have) or one word (as I have). Drydock happens to be a word whose spelling I deliberately confirmed before writing two out of the three articles you edited (done specifically with the expectation that someone might object to my spelling). For the record, Wikipedia, on which the wikias are modelled, favors spelling the term with two words (although it freely uses both versions). [other words which I specifically checked were "spelt" and "modelled", for which I have settled on the English spelling]

Thank you letting me know but I have little interest in learning Esperanto (not zero interest, but too little to take a course).
As for what is flagged by autocorrect in source mode: I tend not to write in source mode as I care about the aesthetics of my paragraph shapes in visual mode (at least at the magnification that I view pages), so these flags are not noticed by me, and I am not concerned with what language setting the wikias have chosen for the spellcheck software, since that is an arbitrary choice made at some level(s) of the community's administration (in all likelihood, these admin are American and use American English). My mention of the heritage of these wikias, coming from Wikipedia, was an appeal to authority, since an appeal to another site has always been your way of correcting me in favor of American English (so I thought that might be what you considered convincing). For my part, there is nothing that feels convincing in what language settings are used on which sites and what spelling is popular with whatever people, but I thought you would be more swayed by what is common on as major a site as Wikipedia. Despite my view, I can understand why you would prefer the language setting for the source code here (even though we don't share that preference).

Hey, Eo! Glad you noticed this unique term. I'll give you the description which I tried to provide the PM3-verse so you can try to figure them out, but then I'll let you know to confirm/deny your suspicions:
- Having four hooven feet and capable of both trotting and galloping, these beasts are surprisingly unwoolen. After a few hunters kill these wild beasts, it is determined that their meat is stringy and doesn't taste pleasing as do the fish from the Kusquqvak River. The most astonishing discovery of these creatures, however, comes from three disobedient youth who mount the beasts and end up finding out that the beasts are willing to be ridden! Clearly worthwhile and possibly capable of reducing the length of time spent on the annual migration, the Great Elder orders his hunters to capture these beasts, which are then named luussitars
Ok, take your guess....
They are horses! I did a bit of research on Central Yup'ik languages and determined that luussitar is the best representation of their word for horse, and its what I'll be using from now on. I may eventually switch back to horse, but thanks for your interest!

Numbers ten and under
I agree that numbers equal to or less than ten should be spelled out in most cases but not always. For example:
- In a lists or tables of quantities, numbers that are spelled out will stand out among all of the numbers written as numerals.
e.g. Imagine if the "10" and "1" on this page were written "ten" and "one". If you think that would look fine than our tastes for writing are very different and finding common ground on this topic will be quite difficult.
- In dates, spelling out numbers is highly unconventional.
e.g. Compare "2 January 2014" and "two January 2014). Again, I don't know what to say to you about this topic if you are fine with this other case of spelling out a number under ten.
- In equations, spelling out any numbers equal to or less than ten would run counter to the reason that numerals were invented in the first place (for more efficient reading of numerical relations)
e.g. Compare "2 + 18 = 20" and "two + 18 = 20". If you want to hold to the rule of always spelling out numbers ten and under, then I am interested in why would be opposed to this type of case, especially if you're reason were on practical or aesthetic grounds.
- For negative numbers, using numerals and a minus sign may be preferable to writing out "negative [number]".
e.g. Compare "-2" and "negative two", "minus two", or the ridiculous "-two". Sometimes the written "negative two" might be fine but other times writing "-2" gets the point across better.
- When using scientific notation, a number less than ten should still be written in numerals even if the number of significant figures is only one (admittedly, this case may not count since the numeral is only part of a number).
e.g. Compare "2 x 105" and "two x 105". Someone would not be inconsistent to oppose spelling out numbers in this case while still being fine with all of the above, since it's a pretty different type of problem, but I think this case was worth mentioning.
This next case is far more a matter of opinion than the others but I agree with it so will mention it for future reference:
- When a number is the topic being talked about in a text, it seems more appropriate to distinguish its status as the concept under consideration from a number being used to quantify something, partially to show that the description is abstract (i.e. within the purview of mathematics) and partially to emphasize that the number written in numerals is mentioned for its own sake and that the number that is spelled out is there as a quantifier of objects.
e.g. Compare "the two x-intercepts in the function f(x) = (x - 3)² - 1 are 2 and 4" and the similar "the two x-intercepts in the function f(x) = (x - 3)² - 1 are two and four".
Anyway, these cases and examples are mentioned to get you asking yourself if numbers ten and under should always be spelled out. If you happen to read this reply, then I hope you agree afterward that there are cases where spelling out numbers equal to or less than ten is impractical, inappropriate, unusual, or at least widely unappealing. In particular, the edit of yours that probably prompted this response (on this page) falls under the first of the above categories. Even if you disagree with that particular case, I don't mind you editing my pages to make them follow English conventions with which I disagree but please don't go onto my talk page to reprimand me for reversing your edits and for not following your choice of conventions for writing in English. You are free to follow your writing conventions and I will follow mine (and obviously we both should aim to follow proper English grammar!).
You do a lot of good work on this site and it's a shame that our interactions have tended to be negative because we differ on the conventions of written English.
Also, in good faith, I went through my post to change "spelt" to "spelled" since I know you prefer that spelling.
Red VS Blue (talk) 18:03, December 11, 2014 (UTC)
That's good to hear! I'm glad that I haven't offended you in my replies and its nice to see that the physics student's habit of using abbreviations for units has amused you. I suppose it might be funny if you're not used to seeing them in the middle of paragraphs.
Anyway, if we can agree that there are some exceptions to spelling out numbers, I hope you can respect my reversals of your edits to follow those exceptions that we don't have in common. Likewise, I hope that you don't mind other times when I have reversed your edits to make my timeline abide by my own conventions or to correct edits to Latin words mistaken for English. Your spelling corrections have otherwise been appreciated :)
Red VS Blue (talk) 18:56, December 11, 2014 (UTC)
Yup, Superpowers is what I mean when I say my timeline.
I always spell out kilometer? When "kilometer" goes in a sentence I spell it out (otherwise the sentence would look weird) but I tend to write "km" when it comes after a specific number of kilometers (e.g. "the wall was 500 km long"). Of course, I wouldn't doubt that I've accidentally done the opposite a few times.
Yes, you don't deliberately mess with Latin words but sometimes you have mistaken Latin for English and changed the word (which is a perfectly understandable mistake), e.g. "limites" is a Latin term for "frontiers" and can be mistaken for a misspelling of "limits".

Edit Conflicts
Will do. I tend to edit in blocks so I can refresh the recent wiki activity, and not miss messages like this. It unfortunately has the problem of causing edit conflicts like this, which is why I appreciate your understanding in the matter. Anyway, I will send a second message when I leave for the night. Violation of NotLAH's Rules
Please note that NotLAH has very strict Editorial Guidelines in regards to the capitalization of "zombie". Please undo your many infractions of this rule, or I will regard it as vandalism. You also do not have the authority to change the map game's rules. I'm going to assume you were using a bot, and wouldn't have changed the rules if you had known. Regardless, please undo this immediately. Thanks, Mscoree (talk) 20:27, December 24, 2014 (UTC)
I don't want to undo all of it, because having looked closer it appears that there's some actual spelling fixes in there. Basically any instance where you see "a zombie attacked...", for example, then it should be lower case, while "The Zombie Horde" should be uppercase. It appears that most of the pages you edited have a little of both. Mscoree (talk) 20:42, December 24, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your cooperation in fixing this error. Also I'd like to apologize if I came off as insulting or derogatory in my original message. I was slightly annoyed, as this isn't the first time I've told you about this, but I don't think you had malicious intentions, and I'm glad I talked to you about it. Square Kilometers and Thousands Commas
Not too sure what you are doing. The term "sq km" is never used and is almost always spelled km2 (check this out). The only time "sq" is used is for "sq mi", and even then "square mile" works just as good. I insist that you cease making this specific correction.
I also noticed that you once again removed a thousands marker from one of my articles. I believe I've already brought this up with you, but a comma is always used to separate a series of three numbers. The only time this is not used is for years and the like, but areas are always done this way. So it should read "2,000 km2" and not "2000 sq km". Please try not to let this happen again. -- NuclearVacuum 18:51, April 1, 2015 (UTC)

Principia Moderni III
Hello, Eo. I play Spain in the Principia Moderni III Map Game. I style my posts like this:
- Spain does things and stuff.
However, you frequently change it to this:
- Spain: Does things and stuff.
I prefer the first version because the name of the nation is incorporated into a full and proper sentence as opposed to creating a fragment. In future it would be greatly appreciated if you leave my posts in that format. This extends to Algeria and Singapore.
Thanks.

"However" is one thing. I try to add commas around it since I read your earlier messages. The thing that actually annoys me though is when you add "re-inforcements", "judgment", or other alternative spellings. Especially since this creates inconsistency, where half the words are spelled one way, and the other half another. I appreciate your dedication to grammar and spelling, but please take note that I am using certain spellings, and don't wish to have instances of the words spelled differently. Re: 大和民國憲法
Japan uses a writing system that combining the use of Chinese characters (called 'kanji') with its own syllabary (called 'kana'). Then of course there will be a Japanese word with Chinese characters. The kanji characters I used in my timeline are kyūjitai, pre-World War II Chinese characters. Prior to Japanese surrender in 1945, China, Korea, and Japan (and even Vietnam) used similar Chinese characters to write their language albeit with different applications.
Like the People's Republic of China in 1949, Japan reformed its writing system in 1946, simplified the form of its Chinese characters differently with China itself. On other hand, the Republic of Korea reduced the use of similar pre-World War II characters without any simplification and now its use are limited only on the government's official papers, while its northern counterpart, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, totally abandoned the characters and promoted hangul, the Korean alphabet.
Kyūjitai is still on common use in Japan, but not officially. In my timeline, the writing system reform in 1946 did not happening, so the pre-World War II Chinese characters or kyūjitai still will be in common use instead. Albeit the pre-World War II characters' current use in Japan, however, Google Translate always make similar mistakes: since the characters are similar with the traditional Chinese ones, it will be instead translated the characters as Chinese, not Japanese. In fact, the similar words we discussed, for example 憲法, can be also read in three different ways in Standard Chinese (xiànfǎ), Japanese (kenpō) and Korean (heonbeob).

The post didn't say "German South-West Africa", i.e., it was not talking about the German colony by that name. Rather it was talking about "southwest Africa" (notice the lower case "s"), signifying that it is not the formal name of a place, but rather an adjective being applied to the word "Africa". He is trying to saying the area of Africa in the southwest, not a place named "Southwest Africa". Tr0llis (talk) 01:21, July 25, 2015 (UTC)

Beiping
That is an old Chinese tradition actually to rename one place during the change of one ruling regime. Beijing was renamed as 'Beiping' by the forces of Shanxi warlord, Yan Xishan, after the Northern Expedition between 1928 and 1949. In 1949, the Communist Chinese government that occupied northern China changed back the name into 'Beijing' (Northern Capital) due to the restoration of its old role as the country's capital opposed to the Kuomintang's 'Nanjing' (Southern Capital) ('ping' means 'Peace', while 'jing' means 'capital city'). :)

Re:Why did you revert my corrections?
That can not be helped, Bil. I was not only revert your edit, but also the previous ones before you that supposed to be done by an anonymous user. The anon is suspected to make illegal edits on the page. I suggest you to never correct any grammar of one article if the page was edited by an anon. In the past, my article was also edited by an anon and it was not detected by me because you edited it thereafter. However, I can not blame you.
Among other users, you are the one that I respect the most due to your age and your great dedication to this wiki, Bil. I always feel sad and angry everytime the younger and newer users (usually the map-gamers) protesting your correction on their grammar. As a non-native English speaker, I always feel thankful to you everytime I write something that grammatically wrong and then you correcting that. You bring the perfection to any page on this wiki. You contribute more than other younger users, including LG.
Bil, forgive me if my revert hurted your feeling. What I only did is to revert an illegal edit by a user who even not having the user profile on this wiki. That is my job as the Constable, the one who can not even ban the anon to not make any further illegal edit. However, if what I did really hurt your heart, I truly apologize to you from my deepest heart. Please forgive me, Bil, if I can not do something to stop any one complaining your job and please forgive them who never understand and realize everything that you have done for this wiki.
Bil, you are the most precious treasure this wiki ever has. :')

Re: Toward vs Towards
First of all, I use towards (obviously). Secondly, there is no grammatical rules I'm breaking by using towards. Third, I'm only reverting my personal pages (the rest of your work is to remain untouched).
Finally, I've asked you several times now to cease "correcting" these types of grammar issues on my pages. Yet you continue to do them? I wish to use color, colonization, kilometers, and now towards. I welcome your grammar corrections on actual issues (such as moot), but altering usable words because of "local dialects" is not going to be one of them.
So I will say this one last time. Cease doing "these types of corrections" on my articles. If I were to revert your edits, your response should not be to begin edit-warring and to message me an English lesson.
Do I make my self clear? -- NuclearVacuum 19:06, September 14, 2015 (UTC)
Inconsistent Emboldening
You recently emboldened sections of two lines of text in "The Ashes of Rome" (a Map Game). However, your use of that emboldening was inconsistent:
From Hennig Hróaldr, first son of Þórbjörn', and rightful king of all Lombardy,
To his majesty, Alexander Salvioli, husband to the last queen' of the United Goths:
In the first line you emboldened Hennig's title (including, for some reason, the word "and"), and in the second you emboldened a preposition conjunction and an article (which seem a bit isolated in this context) and the name of the nation that Alexander has a title for. A suggested correction (which I'll implement after this) would be:
From Hennig Hróaldr, first son of Þórbjörn, and rightful king of all Lombardy,
To his majesty, Alexander Salvioli, husband to the last queen' of the United Goths:
This is just a warning for the future. If you spend all your time correcting spelling, grammar, and formatting, and you get something wrong, a lot of people are liable to get angry.
Well, as a counterpoint to that, in my explanation about how you got something wrong, I got something wrong (I accidentally used "preposition" instead of the correct "conjunction"). Touché.

I would say I'm fed up with this, but that would be an understatement. All you'd have to do is go through your own talk page to see the countless times I've asked you to stop. Be it your use of outdated or unnecessary grammar rules, ignorance towards words that appear "unfamiliar" to you, or your persistence to get into edit wars over said issues.

... What are you talking about? I have not blocked you, and your account has not been blocked in years.
If you are referring to the notes I've left across one of my timelines, then are you blaming me for something I haven't done yet? As for the note itself, you have been warned about this over three times now, yet you continued to "correct" this. Said message is going to be a reminder. And since you came across this, am I now to assume you were going to "correct" this yet again? If you are going to ignore the continuous messages you've received about this, than you shouldn't be surprised when other get annoyed at you actions. -- NuclearVacuum 23:26, January 27, 2016 (UTC)
- Okay? By any chance would your IP address happen to be 70.176.184.71? Because I blocked this address three days ago for vandalizing one of my pages. I forgot all about this until you brought it up, and now I can see that this anonymous user was you (their edits and comments are exactly the same as yours). Because I blocked this account (which clearly is now yours), your main account was unintentionally blocked as well.
- This is the only explanation I can come up with, as (looking at your block logs) your main account has not be blocked since 2012.
- But regardless of whether you were intentionally blocked, your three-day block seems justifiable for two main reasons:
- You should've logged in. Most anonymous (IP) users tend to be vandals or trolls. When I stumbled across this IP doing so to one of my articles, I blocked them (as with others).
- Regardless of whether you were logged in or not, you have been warned about this file over three times now. Despite my pleas and warnings, you continue to "correct" this one file.
- So for accidentally blocking you for three days, I do apologize. But now knowing that this IP is likely yours, you should consider yourself lucky you only got off with three days. Had I known it was you, I wouldn't have hesitated to have made it much longer.
- This is the final straw as far as I'm concerned. You continue to ignore the dozens of warnings me and others have made. You then send us unneeded grammar lessons despite being told to stop. I will not be taking it any more.
- This will be the last time I will say this to you. Stop being a Grammar Nazi. Not all of your "corrections" are helpful. Many ignore contemporary spelling norms, while other are rather insulting to say the least (e.g., "Goodwill" to "Good Will"?). Please look at articles on a case by case basis and be aware of differing cultures and spelling rules.
- Beginning today, if you continue to ignore these warning and continue to "correct" things which are "un-correctable," I will be stepping in. I will begin to purposely block your account for longer durations. I may also make your ignorance known to other admins, and possibly work to have your admin status revoked if this continues.
Yet all I see across your talk page are complaints from other users. These include altering individual names (Joseph Goebbels), ignoring others' requests to stop, and scolding those who revert your "corrections." Regardless of whether you won awards or not, this is not an excuse to ignore some and lash out at others.
If you seriously think that winning an award gives you an excuse to act like your better than everybody else, than you seriously need to reconsider your priories. -- NuclearVacuum 05:21, January 28, 2016 (UTC)
Oh, for fucks sake. Both of you just reach an agreement like EoGuy did with Red vs Blue. EoGuy, don't edit any of Nuke's articles. Similar, don't change file names, that leads to broken links and all sorts of confusion. Not hard to figure out.
And Nuke, I don't think that you should be literally telling the world that you have a bias against EoGuy and would have banned him for "much longer" if you knew that IP address was him. Also, I don't think EoGuy is an admin, so I'm not sure why you're threatening to have his admin status revoked.
So how about both of you take a step back. EoGuy, can I count on you to not edit any of Nuke's articles? While there are a few cases where your corrections has been incorrect (Goodwill vs good will), the vast majority of your work is beneficial to the wiki. On that page, when you edit the page and change the spelling, for some reason the page's formatting becomes messed up. I realize that you edit in source mode, and, just so you know, a section between three apostrophes is considered bolded. I really appreciate your corrections, but please do not edit in between three apostrophes.

Re: A Vs. AN
Thank you for telling me the correct way to use a and an, my native language is Portuguese and that's why I have some difficult to write in English.

Re: My mission
I was made aware of your acknowledged accomplishments here a little while ago, and I apologize for my rash decision to block you. While we do welcome copy-editing, the issue on our wiki is that most articles there are stubs (short articles with little to no development/substance) and also outdated. The majority of the articles that you edited were mostly articles that fit that category, and we are currently in the ongoing process of deleting such pages. Our concern is that although your edits have good intentions, they are being applied to articles that should not be "resurrected" in the sense, as they unfairly squander our wiki's recent changes/wiki activity, and take the spotlight away from edits of ongoing, substantial projects. I will be lifting your block shortly after this message and will leave you the choice to continue editing or not. Perhaps, we could arrange a checklist of articles that are in dire need of copy-editing so that you may continue your mission, while also fairly representing only the articles that truly need it. If you have any more questions or inquiries, feel free to leave a message at my talk page over at Constructed Worlds. Cheers, Centrist16 | Talk | Wiki 05:20, April 5, 2017 (UTC)
Re: Copy Writer Award
We can certainly do that, although there is a significant lack of other candidates.

Timeline idea
Hello,
Some of us are getting together and working a timeline that includes your real persona in it. Is that alright?
Thanks,

Re:EoGuy Memorial Copy Writer Award
I apologize for a very late reply, Eo. I was in a semi-hiatus since last year because I need to get my bachelor's degree immediately this year (which proven to be harder than I thought before). I do not get your message, Eo. Was something happened on this wiki? I missed a lot of things recently. I will be very grateful if you can explain me what happened around here while I was on the hiatus.
