I am the caretaker of both the Outer Lands (1983: Doomsday) and the Billy Joel (1983: Doomsday) articles.
I don't intend to open these articles for adoption.
Thank you. -- NuclearVacuum 04:32, March 29, 2020 (UTC)

RE: Adpotions
I'm looking to be more active on here with all the COVID business outside. Would you like to work together on Joplin, Stillwater, Hugo, Hot Springs? --Zack 21:43, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
I always figured Joplin (and Cape Girardeau) would become a part of Kentucky. Hugo, along with the other surviving communites in southeast Oklahoma were to join together as one, and may well become a part of Kentucky down the line. I had the same idea for Hot Spings. I can't say I thought much about Stillwater's future. Maybe it would join the new United States? Kentucky, for that matter, might end up joining the new United States. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Zack 01:56, April 7, 2020 (UTC) Joplin is more likely to join Kentucky before joining the United States. They would, of course, join the US when Kentucky does, but I'm not sure if that would have happened by 2020. I could see Oaklahoma mereging in the the early 2010s and joining the US around this time. That would be a good geogrpahical point for Kentucky and the US to establish stronger ties.
The internal politics of Kentucky need to be fleshed out. After the Missouri surivior states join Kentucky, that may prompt wholesale reforms to Kentucky's political system, which would include the creations of states.
One thing that might hamper a reunion between the US and Kentucky is Kentucky's power. They are not a minor player in post-Doomsday America. Some Kentuckians might be hesistant to give up that power, while some Americans may worry about a powerful state disrupting their internal power dynamics.
As for the Clintons, it's certainly possible they'd get involved in the politics of Hot Springs. What idea did you have for them? Zack 17:41, April 12, 2020 (UTC)
Maybe reunification around 2015 with the goal of joining the new US around 2020?
That's true. We might end up with Kentucky itself being one state, Joplin and Cape Girardeau as the state of Missouri, and so on.
I love the Clinton stuff you've been working on and support making it canon. Zack 23:44, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
Requests for Adoption (1983DD)
First, thank you very much for your interest in the 1983:DD universe. I pop in occasionally but haven't contributed in forever. Thank you for your appreciation of Neonotia. I would be thrilled for you to contribute to that article. Though I am sure that you will do a great job in staying in the spirit of the article, I am not ready to "adopt it out" (even after years of inactivity!). Please feel free to update the timeline, perhaps first running it by me.
As for Hannibal, I relinquish that artice to you. Please remember the guidelines as to what is assumed and already written about the city-state and its neigbors.

Bill Clintion
I am afraid that that you mention of bill clinon being ambosor to fefetyville confils with my northwest araksaw article which has been cannon for years. My article says that the fayetvill state collapsed into arkany in the 1980. I think you should read my article https://althistory.fandom.com/wiki/Northwestern_Arkansas_(1983%3A_Doomsday). I would sugeest making cillton absor to joplin berryville or russlevile. Also do think it may be a good idea to update my northwest arkasas page to say that in 2019 a colleaiton of joplin hot springs and maybe the united states and pine bluf launche a massive assult on fayyetvile and manged to liberate form mob rule
Whoops, sorry about that! I didn't see that article before! Upon reading it, and your message, I'm going to take your advice and make Clinton the ambassador to Joplin instead of Fayetteville in the story. Thanks for letting me know! I like your second idea too! GryffindorKrypton (talk) 02:09, April 18, 2020 (UTC)GryffindorKrypton
American Provisional Administration
Hello. I never considered myself the "owner" of American Provisional Administration (1983: Doomsday) - from the start, it summed up the work of various people in the project. It looks like you're refurbishing a lot of the older pages. Maybe you can breathe some life into the APA as well. Benkarnell (talk) 13:08, April 29, 2020 (UTC)
1989 War
have been making articles for a timeline called war. It is like 1983 doomsday except that warr 3 occurs because mikal gobocoe was overthrown by a ficitional hardliner who sent troops into berlin when the wall went down. It a group timeline but beside me and the founder of the timeline duke Devon the timeline has had only one other poster and he made only one article. Duke devon has esntlal abbodne 1989 war and has moved on to another time. So I am the only one keeping the timelin alive. He tell me i can do want i what with the timeline but I still genllary like to tell my idea to people on ther tialk pages but I make my articles because i feel that getting feedback help me devople them. Will you be willing to listne to my ideasGoldwind1 (talk) 12:29, April 30, 2020 (UTC)
United States 1983
I believe you adopted the united stated 1983 article. The untied states should have be having an election this you. You should start thinking of candidates.I feel a democratic should become the decroma should wind because 3 out of 4 presidents are republican and the democrat only had one term. There is no mention of Simpson getting reelected so there is a chance that the democrats won in 2016 I got a suggestion for the democratic nominee Rob Quist. Here's a link to his article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Quist He is a surprising liberal country singer who ran in 2017 Montana House election as a democrat but he. The problem is he is 72. It is more likely that he ran in 2008 or 2012 2016. He would have definitely lost in 2008 and 2012 . But since the perivous owner of the united states 1983 article didn't right any about the 2016 Quist could have beat Simpson in 2016. An alterate chose for the democratic party 2020 nomime is steve bullock
George w Bush
I belive your bit about george w going to mexico is against cannon. Accoeridng to cannon he feld to laura home town of midland texas and would go on to form the republic of west texas first priviatly owned tv staion..
I guess your ideas may work.
1989 War 2
I started the page for Korea (1989). Do you think that South Korea would be able to evacuate congress form Seoul before the bomb hit or at at list be able to get member of congress to one of Seoul many nuclear bunker.
I like the idea of an otl North Korean dissent becoming president of united Korea. I got a list of 3 potential candidates. They are 1 Kang Chol-hwan (author of the Aquariums of Pyongyang) 2 Shin Dong-hyuk the only known prisoner to have successfully escaped from a "total-control zone" grade internment camp in North Korea. He was also born the camp) 3 Lee Soon-ok ( a former manager in a North Korean government office that distributed goods and materials who sent to a concentration camp as the result of a power struggle. . She received the Democracy Award from the non-profit organization National Endowment for Democracy in July 2003. Seul got nuke , the new captial of korea is Jeonju
Suwon south korea is the headquaters of Samsung elctronics. It is about 30 km form seoul. Do you think the city would could still be habitable or is it too close to seul..
Municiapal states of the pacfic
I adopt the municpal states of the pacfic. I updated it to say that the cival war occured when evidence that the civiv rights party rigged the elcetion of 2010 came out. The rebels won the war quickly with the help of the ANZC and the SAC. The municpil states became the republic of jefferson in 2015. I want the republic of jefferson to join the united states. I think 2019 is the aboustle earilst this could happen but I think it would probbly be latter. When do you think the republic of jefferson will join the united statesGoldwind1 (talk) 12:52, May 5, 2020 (UTC)
Years ago to be canonized an article it had to have the approval of the timeline moderator LG. LG has since disspared and I am not sure if there really is a 1983 doomsday moderator any more. It seams that canonization is know do by making a proposal , fhishing, posting a measgage on the proposal or the 1983 doomsday talk page saying you have fhished the porpusall and think it should be cannoized, and then giving people a week to complain about the cannozation. If know one complains it conazied. But I could be worng
I think I will just wait untill I fhinshed the jeffeson article before I send out a canoizaion reguest
I got an Idea of how big the united will be at the end of the american spring. I think that is plausible that all of the fromer usa will join the new united with the exceptions of churmash republic, Visslia, Utah, Dinetah, Lakota, Texas, Louisiana,The outer banks, Natches Hattiesburg, omlestad, the Virginia republic, Vermont, the northern townships, the part of the former usa anexed by several Canadian Survivor states and maybe Plymouth, the outer lands Aroostook, Kerr ,Blue Ridge, inner banks, former south Carolina and the parts of former terseness indpenet of the commonwealth of Kentucky. Do you agree that my ideas for the exxpansion the united states are plauable. If so are their any of the maybe joins that you think so join
Columbia Mo
There is no mention of Columbia MO being destroyed. The town is one county south of Morelsy Mo. Since Moresly is part of the republic of Hannibal I think Columbia should be part of Hanniba too. I feel that Columbia would Haniabl's largest city or at least neck and neck with Hannibal. Coulbia is home to a univeristy, an auto part plant and a elcotic compents plant run by 3m

1983 Doomsday.
I belive Bill Mays would have surrived Doomsday because he lived in atlantic city in 1983. I mentioned his several on a talk page ages ago. Lorganon said that he would probbly become the richest bussiness man on the altitanic city board walk. He would probby start out selling merdiaise from a cart before opening a store. Do you think that after torusim returns to altinic that Billy would buy a hotel/casion. Also do you like the idea of billy mays orginzing a mss delmarva beauty pagent.. Also do you think that billy mays would still be alive in doomsday. He his death was due to a commtion of heart deise, illegal drug use and head tramua. When the drug trade dried up their is a slim chance hew would still be alive today or atleast of had died latterGoldwind1 (talk) 21:49, May 16, 2020 (UTC)
I belive that I ask for gruadtion a week ago for jefferson and got no respondces. I hope you don't mind that I said that jerfferson joined america in 2020.. Do you think that any other surrivor states would have joined the new union in the time between 2012 and 2020
Do you think that pre doomsday irgation sysytmes would be work in the imperiall valley and the cochella valley. Slab city has a rubmetary irgation syeytme do it irgation sytmes would work the imperial valley and cochella valley
I don't think Lousiania would join the new united states . Lousia and southern misspia is too eccomically ingrateds with texas and mexic to want to jon the new united states. The other states that I don;t wuld join the new union are the new united with the exceptions of churmash republic, Visslia, Utah, Dinetah, Lakota, Texas, Louisiana,The outer banks, Natches Hattiesburg, omlestad, the Virginia republic, Vermont, the northern townships, the part of the former usa anexed by several Canadian Survivor states and maybe Plymouth, the outer lands Aroostook, Kerr ,Blue Ridge, former south Carolina and the parts of former terseness indpenet of the commonwealth of Kentucky. Someone objected to my Republic of jeffeson page and issued a review. He listed to my argguments but I didn't convince fully him. Any one as the right to why in on the reivie. Would you issue some comment on work. You post your comments in the republic of jefferson section of the 1983 doomsday talk page
Hello. I will be taking a break for a while from the wiki due to university matters, but I would really like for the Great British Civil War arc to continue. Hey there, Canuck2012! Nice to meet you, and thanks for introducing yourself! I am indeed working on revitalizing 1983: Doomsday, but I'm not the only one, it's a team effort. How about finishing that Huguang-Zhongyuan page of yours? It's now canon for your information and with many sections that need to be finished. Could you add historically accurate relations with its neighbours on top of that (especially states like the Dragon State and that other rogue state)

Republic of Jefferson
I got my changes to the MSP page approved but I need to wait a while for my republic jefferson page to be apporved. Any way do you think 2020 is not too early for the republic of Jefferson to join the new united states. Jefferson's first election was in december 2012. Do you think the Caloforina republic would around the same time as jefferson
Hey Goldwind! I think 2020 works as a date for Jefferson statehood. I could also see the California Republic becoming a new State of California around the same time as well! GryffindorKrypton (talk) 21:45, June 19, 2020 (UTC)GryffindorKrypton
Do you like the idea of jefferson , calafornia, and many some other state rejoining america on july 4th 2020Goldwind1 (talk) 00:57, June 20, 2020 (UTC)
I just adopt the santa cruz page. Do you like the idea of a collation of The Calafornia Republic, Jefferson the Usa and Maybe the Chusman Republic Invading santa cruz because of Santa Cruzs ocsiaonal slave raids into the calafornai republic and Jefferson as well as santa cruz giving shelter to an former high ranking Civic Rights Party who escaped being tried for war crimes and human rights voilaitonsGoldwind1 (talk) 00:17, June 21, 2020 (UTC)
1983 Doomsday
What do you think should happen to the Saskatoon based Provisional Canada. I can think of several options. They include uniting with the St John Based Canada, Uniting with America, Refusing to unite with St John and staying independent . Uniting with St john would possible but probably not any time soon because their is quite a bit of wild land between them. If they decide to refuse to join St John then they probably change their name because the world would find it confusing to have two Canada's and St John has the stronger claim to being the successor to old Canada. I would rename provisional Canada Buffalo. They was a failed movement to unite Alberta and Saskatchewan as the province of Buffalo around the turn of the 20th century. Uniting with america is the least likely but I like that option the best. My Father spent part of his Youth in Saskatchewan so I like idea of saskatechen joining the new america. The reason I think uniting with America seams unlikely is that Provisional already had an negative refuse on joining America. Still the referendum did lead to them joining the north American Union so realtions with Provisional Canada and America are close so their is a slim chance that a second refumdum would succed
Goldwind1 (talk) 23:23, June 25, 2020 (UTC)
Hey hey HEY. These sorts of things are disscussed in the main talk page, these sort of "under the rug" exchanges are no validation or giving the right to anyone to do unauthorized edits (like when you UNILATERALY, again, made Jefferson canon without giving any notice and despite the article being very unpolished at its current state, wich I'll reverse now that I've notticed it). Please will you transfer these sorts of discussions into the main timeline talk page (or the related article talk page) so that everyone can see them and comment on them? It's also not, despite GryffindorKrypton being quite a talented editor, because he approves of it (unless being the caretaker of one article after having done all the correct procedure) that it becomes law. DD is not 1989:War where you just need the approval of one user to do whatever you want, it needs to be collectively approved. Also it's not because you "like" something that it realistically makes sense given the context. In that case, it just doesn't make sense that a province of Canada go joins the United States in a post-nuclear war world where the main motive for secession in the early 80s (energy tensions between provincial and federal government) is no more. It's not because there's another Caanada, more seen as the successor state of the original one, that it would want to scrap it's canadian identity. There's also a reason why the original marginally approved vision made by one dude of a "province of Buffalo" in the 1900s didn't work and therefore would not work again. Their Torrington neighbour uses a currency named "buffalo dollar" so it would make even less sense, given they want to stay canadian, to sound closer to the US.

Critic of recent edits
Hi
I remarked something upon looking your edits : the tone. The tone is deviating in message and style away from the 1983:DD neutral encyclopedic tone. I am not criticizing the fact you seem to put a lot of heart into your articles, just that you seem change the course of the timeline into a Hollywood movie. The beautiful pure good United States always prevail to universal acclaim, everything always go right, nothing is never going wrong or out of plan against the all evil "terrorists". Citizens all over the world that aren't "evvulll" cry of joy for a country that was responsible for the nuclear destruction of countless countries allied with it along itself. All hail the glorious United States against any form of realism or unbiaised rationalism!
Seriously? Changing the Bush article title from "invasion of Hawaii" (aka the act of unilateraly invading by brute force a de facto independant governement) to "liberation of Hawaii" with all the added fanfare from the populace in such militarism taken so soon after Doomsday is not only just unrealistic given the context, but also a redneck utopia pushing a political agenda into the reader. Do you really think people who were deeply affected by the end result of the Cold War be in any way (with few if not any functionning international media to report on the status of Hawaii) approve such another out-of-nowwhere military invasion of a place knew for its independentist goals and forced annexion when the civilian population needs should be a priority according to any catastrophe survivor. Anger would explode after such an act of venturism in such an innapropriate moment, making clear the actual priorities of the provisional government to preserve its possessions (wether they like it or not) and not help its citizens in need. Oceania would rise for itself (the Hawaiians) given such context. Like "now this is too much", it was fine enough as it already was.
For Torrington the bicycle pubs weren't invented before 1997 by a guy in the Netherlands for your information. Also the flag is stylish but the meaning of the blue, pardon me, is a bit soapy. I'd suggest the blue bar signify the blue sky, symbol of renewal after a disaster (here Doomsday) as well as adding the missing national colour on the original flag of DC wich only had red and white (missing the blue).
I might get looked like what I was saying was unfair bashing, but it's justified by the rigid encyclopedic unbiaised look the DD articles are supposed to adhere to.
It would please me if you rewrote those passages with a more reserved approach. I did the same commentaries on the Republic of Leicester made by another user, wich once taken upon were way more realistic, less of a contrast with the other articles, and less ideologically-driven.
Kind Regards
SigmaHero045 (talk) 20:57, July 17, 2020 (UTC)
Hello SigmaHero045,
Let me start by saying that I have a lot of respect for you. You've been a great guide since I've joined this timeline, and I certainly don't mean to give the wrong impression. I really respect the way you've been firm but constructive. I do think that, in this instance, you're putting words in my mouth, though (like portraying one side as "perfect," or another side as "evil").
I have no intention of pushing any sort of aggressive, warmongering agenda. And I have never portrayed any groups in the timeline as being "evil.". If it came across that way, then I apologize. For the Hawaii section of the GHWB article, I thought it would be okay to rename it that because, from an in-universe perspective, Hawaii was still a US state and remained so until the 90's. My further rationale was that at that point, the majority of Hawaiian residents were still US citizens (with a large US Navy presence as well) and up until that point, the majority had not been pro-independence in real life as of the early 1980's. I also thought I was echoing the language that was already there from a previous contributor about the effect on US morale.
BUT again, I understand what you're saying. I will edit it to sound more neutral, with neutral terms like "operation."
For Torrington, since it's still a proposal, let's keep that part of the discussion on the main Talk page. Also, please let me know what you think of my other proposals (I updated a bunch of them after getting your first round of advice and summarized those changes on the main Talk page. The Bollywood one in particular has a few extra paragraphs about in-universe propaganda now).
Again, Sigma, I respect you a great deal, and I apologize if you got the wrong impression. I enjoy working with you, and I look forward to more story-telling together.
Best regards,

So how are you doing?
I just wanted to know how are the articles you talked me about are going? What are their current state (level of completion etc.)? Are some going to have a canonization process soon? What changes have you made to them since the last time we talked? Are there some things you want my opinion about? Just to know.
Also, random thing, I think you should have an image for your profile.

Republic of Jefferson
I have finally got my Republic of Jefferson article graduated. I still want Jefferson to join the new United states. However we should probably wait until next year because 2020 is an election year in Jefferson they would probably want to wait until the election to start the negotiations on joining the union Goldwind1 (talk) 17:58, September 6, 2020 (UTC) Hey Goldwind1, glad to hear that! I agree with Jefferson joining the new USA, and your assessment is probably right. GryffindorKrypton (talk) 23:56, September 20, 2020 (UTC)GryffindorKrypton
Santa Cruz
The California republic will also probably be rejoins the United States. They may have already joined the new union by now. I feel that a major event that leads to the calfornia republic joining the new united states is the united helping California invade Santa Cruz in 2015 or 2016 because the Santa Cruz raiders made the misstate of kidnapping a relative of president of calforia to serve as a slave. Do you think Mexico would also be a meamber of the anti Santa Cruz colletion or are they to far away. You don't have about convice the owner of Santa Cruz to approve the invasion of sata Cruz because I adopted it. Do you the idea of a slave uprising happing during the inviosn. Also about Santa cruz being betrayed by thier only ally Ventura. I think that it quite polisable that when ventura hear that santa cruz is under attack they feel that santa cruz is doomed and despited that is there interst to make reforms that legiaisme in the eyes of the free word and join the inviosn of santa cruz in exchange for forgin aidGoldwind1 (talk) 20:38, September 22, 2020 (UTC)
Do you think the republic of jefferson being part of the anti sant cruz colection in 2015 or would they be too busy licking there from the pacfic cival war to join the war against santa cruz. Also would Chushman and visialia join the anti santa cruz colletion. Also there of hate santa cruz for kidnapping there citizen to be slaves. Do you think santa cruz would be abosred by the calforai republic or would they set up thier a procoate or an indpenet democrtatic govement. I feel that a democrtic santa cruz or a caloraion procateate of santa cruz would probbly join the new unites shortly after caloria and jeffreson join the unites statesGoldwind1 (talk) 12:56, September 25, 2020 (UTC)

Nomination for best new contributor of the wiki.
Hello there
I've nominated you for best new user of 2020 at next year's annual Stirling Awards for how you honestly and with great charisma revitalized 1983:Doomsday, congrats :)
You didn't edit as much as you did earlier, is everything alright? Is it something I've done? In this case I'm sorry for upsetting you, I can be quite the jerk sometimes.
SigmaHero045 (talk) 02:11, September 19, 2020 (UTC)
Hi SigmaHero045,
I got a notification of your post here, and I just wanted to reassure you that you have not offended me! I've just been really busy with stuff for work lately, and been doing a lot of other stuff. I'm going to continue editing though, maybe contribute a little bit more right now.
Also, thank you so much for this nomination! I honestly never expected this when I started, and I'm truly very flattered and thrilled to be considered for it! I appreciate your kind words here very much.
I'll take another look at the articles I think are almost ready to nominate for canonization, but for right now I'll probably just make a few minor tweaks here and there.

Welcome Back
I am glad your back from your hiatus. I hope you don't mind that I re-posted some old post you never responded to. The California republic will also probably be rejoins the United States. They may have already joined the new union by now. I feel that a major event that leads to the California republic joining the new united states is the united helping California invade Santa Cruz in 2015 or 2016 because the Santa Cruz raiders made the misstate of kidnapping a relative of president of California to serve as a slave. Do you think Mexico would also be a member of the anti Santa Cruz collection or are they to far away. You don't have about convince the owner of Santa Cruz to approve the invasion of Santa Cruz because I adopted it. Do you the idea of a slave uprising happening during the invasion. Also about Santa Cruz being betrayed by their only ally Ventura. I think that it quite possible that when Ventura hear that Santa Cruz is under attack they feel that Santa Cruz is doomed and despite that is there interest to make reforms that legitimate in the eyes of the free word and join the invasion of Santa Cruz in exchange for for gin aid Goldwind1 (talk) 20:38, September 22, 2020 (UTC) Do you think the republic of Jefferson being part of the anti Santa Cruz collation in 2015 or would they be too busy licking there from the pacific civil war to join the war against Santa Cruz. Atari
I just had an idea. I don't think Sunnyvale, California suffered a direct hit, and thus might have salvageable items. Atari was founded here and maintained offices here even after being acquired by Warner Brothers. By 1983 Atari had not only put out the 2600 and the 5200, but the 400 and 800 computers. I was wondering that even with the EMP and the chaos in California, some blueprints, manuals, and source code would survive? If so, perhaps a joint California Republic-Jefferson-United States expedition would sponsor an expedition to recover whatever survived from Atari and use it to attempt to restart the company?

Hey Zack, welcome back! Thanks for giving me permission for the Springsteen article!
So I was thinking of US expansion into the Mississippi River region as something that probably would have happened by 2020. For Oklahoma, it looks like Benkarnell may be adapting a proposal called Cimarron from part of Oklahoma into becoming a US state. Perhaps we could work on integrating the rest of OK? I think our previously mentioned idea of fusing Joplin, Stillwater, and some other survivor states into a renewed Missouri could work as well as possibly Arkansas. I think in the Talk page Benkarnell mentioned that by now it may be time for the years-long process of integration between the US Atlantic Remnant and the mainland may be ready to finally move forward, and expansion along the Mississippi River towards the Gulf would probably help facilitate this.
I've also got two dueling ideas forming for the candidates and winner of the US Presidential race of 2020, but I'll bring those forward when I have a bit more written down.
Thanks, and looking forward to more collaboration! GryffindorKrypton (talk) 01:47, 30 November 2020 (UTC)GryffindorKrypton

New US state
Gryffin, I've been somewhat less involved with 1983DD in the last few weeks, busy with other things around here. I still haven't reviewed everything that you wrote carefully, let alone the lengthy discussion... but I know that among many other things you've been interested in the recent history of the United States. I'm wondering if you've seen my new proposal, Cimarron. It's actually a big expansion/rewrite of an old incomplete proposal by someone else. But as I wrote it I realized that it could actually achieve statehood by 2020, and that's exactly what I wrote. If you haven't seen it, please take a look. Hopefully it can fit into the overall vision for recent US history. Benkarnell (talk) 20:15, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, it's good to see you back. I've held off on pushing for final graduation for Cimarron because if we're both working on the new USA, we should coordinate our efforts, and I want to make sure you have a chance to see and comment on Cimarron before it's approved. I also am curious whether you think any other states might have joined the USA in the meantime - that is 2015-2020. Cascadia seems likely, and the San Juan Islands are maybe possibility. Pasco seems like it will probably be a state soon, but not yet. I think that we're in a good spot to answer those questions now. Benkarnell (talk) 14:58, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
Hey Ben, thanks for keeping me in the loop! The Cimarron proposal looks really well-written, and provides a well thought out discussion of the gradual movement towards statehood. I actually did some work on the San Juan Islands a while back. The previous caretaker had left that project on the path to statehood, with the SJ Islanders voting in favor an American-themed flag. I added, in that spirit, a popular referendum resulting in a pro-statehood result (I picked 2015 as a date; the article said the islanders were waiting to see whether the provisional US would declare itself the formal successor to the original Union, which it did in 2010). I figure the renewed USA would look to use the islands as both a trading post and naval way-station (as well as it being part of its general goal of reuniting the states). Cascadia and Pasco seem like a good fit too (especially with Goldwind's State of Jefferson proposal; Cascadia would provide a stronger geographic link). For Pasco, I think it would feel like a natural progression, although I'm not sure which year it would happen. Maybe San Juan statehood around 2015 as suggested above, Cascadia and Cimarron statehood by 2020? What do you think a good timeline for Pasco would be?
One other question I have is about Cimarron's unique (for the region) style of executive. Do you think they would, upon statehood, switch to having a Governor, or stick with the current Executive Committee system?
Looking forward to continuing to work together! GryffindorKrypton (talk) 01:59, 23 February 2021 (UTC)GryffindorKrypton
- Nice! If you're OK with it then, I'll remove the Proposal template from Cimarron and start integrating it into the USA article.
- I'm glad you like my suggestions for states. I'll also change the reference to Cimarron as the 13th state, since it would then be the 14th. Maybe it and Cascadia could be admitted on the same day, but Cascadia goes first to recognize its longer span of time as an NAU member and ally. Or just alphabetically, whatever. Either way, 12 is San Juan, 13 is Cascadia, and 14 is Cimarron. I can start to add those changes, too. And I'll add a discussion section to the 1983 talk page. Here's the 14-star flag I imagine the country using now.
- Pasco can probably join soon, maybe even this year? It really depends on how life there has developed since the article was written. Jefferson has a few years to go, I think.
- As for Cimarron's executive, I kind of hope it stays weird. I like the chance that an apocalyptic timeline gives me to explore weird potential systems of government that would arise to cope with circumstances. Having every state simply copy the systems of the past is a lot less interesting, to me, and there's already plenty of that. (The gd two-party system even survived the nuclear blast, like a cockroach.) Cimarron is going to get the same parties eventually, but I hope its constitution stays unusual.
- Let's go! Benkarnell (talk) 00:18, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Hey, I'd like to write one or more news items from 2020 for the new states (like the other ones on the 1983: Doomsday main page). Do you think that Cascadia and Cimarron became states on the same day, or a few months apart? I've already written that Cimarron's statehood was July 4. I kind of like the idea of Cascadia acceding in January 2020 so that the USA can use the Betsy Ross flag for 6 months. What do you think? - Benkarnell (talk) - forgot to sign before

Hey Goldwind! I think Jefferson would probably still be recovering from the turmoil of its civil war, and would probably sit this one out. I'm not familiar enough (yet) with Visalia and Chumash's internal politics, but I suppose that could work. Mexico may "officially" sit out the conflict, but perhaps send aid to the coalition? The idea of California and Jefferson rejoining the USA but as two different states in the Union sounds interesting!

Hermiston and Pendelton
Ever heard of the cities of Hemison and Pendelton. Hermiston has some food processing plants and a modular home manufacturer. Pendleotn has a hosipitle a flour mill and a tetixle mill I am not sure If the sure if the cities of Hermiston and Pendelton would be part of the State of Oregon, Pacos or the state of Cascadia. The new map of the united states and the map on the Oregon free state page puts both both cites in Oregon. However the map judging by the map on the north America page they either part of Pasco or the gray wild area. The north America map is out of date and the gray area on it has probably been claimed by Oregon, Pacos or Cascadia now. I feel that those cites would mostly be part of Oregon because passing the those cities or atleast though Umatilla county (both cities are part of Umatilla County otl) is the only to contect torrington to salem with out passing though Pasco or Cassiada.
On a realted note the map that puts Pendelton and Hermiston in oregon also put Casidai captial of Baker City in Oregon. That map also put la grande in oregon while it listed as being part of cascida on the cascaida page

Hello, I can't actually see where you left any comments about the Great British Civil War. Could you link where you talk about it?
I started a new page, Panamanian Federation. It's really a development of West Panama with new history since 2013. As I wrote, it occurred to me that CARICOM would be a natural fit for the government. Maybe Costa Rica as well. Maybe not founding members, though, since their situation may be slightly more complicated than the islands. But maybe they can join up soon. False Dmitri (talk) 16:08, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Hello! I posted it here on March 4 at the bottom of the Great British Civil War section, right above the Edward Poll-specific section. I saw some of the more recent discussions you and Sigma had on the topic about the idea of what it means to be British being more central to the conflict and I agree, but I do think that the monarchy question would probably be tied into that. Let me know what you think of my ideas, perhaps we could combine them with some of the other ideas that have been suggested? Perhaps Poll's government gets too out of control or aggressive (like the idea you and Sigma discussed where some crazy hardcore supporters attempt to sail a poorly-constructed attack force to New Britain and fail miserably like you described); perhaps the LON might authorize the NB government to take action with its sanction and aid.
PS: Let me know especially what you think of the flag proposal I came up with!
I love the Panama idea! Yeah, I think it would definitely be a good fit for CARICOM once it's canonized. I could see a big impetus for joining being that Panama hopes that being part of a regional bloc will help it preserve its independence. GryffindorKrypton (talk) 02:04, 23 March 2021 (UTC)GryffindorKrypton
- Oh! The archived talk pages are generally inactive discussions. I'll copy your comment to the primary talk page. I created this section for new conversation about it. But I will say that personally I've never been involved in writing Britain-related content. My interest here was 100% cleaning up something that had become kind of a big mess. So I'm reading your ideas but don't think I have the competence to speak to the specifics. If I have something meaningful to say, I'll add it to the main conversation.
- And hey, if you think that West panama is likely to be a founding part of CARICOM, I'll add that to the proposal. (And once it's official, to the CARICOM map.) False Dmitri (talk) 17:43, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
Potential other sports leagues
I was wondering if you have any advice about starting new football, hockey, and collegiate leagues? If you do want to set up an NCAA-successor, I have identified 10 Division I institutions that had teams in 1983 that are located within the new USA's borders
Colorado State, Gonzaga, Idaho (In Lincoln, probably now University of Lincoln), Idaho State, Montana (In Kootenai, probably now the University of Kootenai), Montana State, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State (In Lincoln, probably now Lincoln State University), Wyoming
The college teams have tremendous following in this area, and reviving competition between them would probably be popular. There is in canon a revival of the SEC, so I see no reason this could not work.
That sounds like a great idea! I guess my advice would be to think about the in-universe history of how the leagues get started (who leads the movement, financing, logistics, etc.). GryffindorKrypton (talk) 00:42, 31 March 2021 (UTC)GryffindorKrypton

I Know you said you support the idea of Joplin and Hannibal merging into a new state of Missouri . The new state of Missouri
would probably join America after Jefferson but I feel that Joplin and Hannibal would probably merger into a republic of Missouri

India in Doomsday
Hello Griff!
So I have been made aware of your recent changes to the India article and after having a read of it, I have to say well done! I really like the take on Manmohan Singh making it his mission to incorporate Punjab back into India, and I think it would also be really interesting to chart out his career in the future at some point.
I've also been speaking to False Dimitri/Ben about India and early India and was thinking of proposing some changes. Essentially a major chunk of India splintering was to do with both political instability and its inability to feed itself. Now the former cannot really be helped, but I have been doing some research on the latter and it turns out India was ramping up its domestic fertiliser production and was mostly able to supply demand with local production, in large part due to the oil shock of '73. It's main imports in that field are Potash, for which it is reaching self-sufficiency in OTL but would suffer from a lack of in '83. However, it most likely would have compensated with what it had present domestically.
Now, we have various states breaking away during this period. Here is where most of my proposed changes begin. First of all, fertiliser production is centred in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Seeing as how Tamil Nadu had a separatist movement at the time, it would make sense for them to use this opportunity to break away, as they focus on feeding their people and then use the threat of destroyed factories as a no win situation for anyone allowing for them to secede from India. The rebels in the North-East would also use the opportunity to do the same. Khalistan too might succeed here. But here is where what is currently canon doesn't make sense. Why would Andhra? Or parts of Madhya Pradesh?
Essentially the fertiliser argument implies that India does not break down anywhere as chaotically as it is said to currently. After bouncing ideas off of Ben, it would be more logical to assume the breakaways would follow a more USSR-breakup model of OTL rather than the whatever we have presently.
So I am proposing to put India under review, and I would love to have you onboard to create a new direction for the nation. What are your thoughts on that?
Also heard you wanted to explore Bollywood in the future, and I just wanted to say more power to you. A big draw for me when I was writing the article was to try to explore Cricket in this world. It was this realisation that made me remember that India had just won the world cup in 1983, which would undoubtedly impact the attitudes of the people in what would go down later. But on the topic of Bollywood, you have a great scope there because Bollywood may very well become THE film industry of the planet.
Look forward to hearing from you. Impishly yours, Imp (Say Hi?!) 20:43, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Condi
Hey Gryff. If nothing's happening with your Condi proposal, I'm going to archive the section on Talk:1983: Doomsday. I think I'll keep the page marked as a Proposal because I know that's how you like to work, juggling countless Proposals at a time and not necessarily discussing all of them. But there's not been any discussion on Condi in months and I like to keep the page clear of inactive discussions. You can undo my edit if you want to keep the section there, like if you were planning on making imminent changes or something like that. False Dmitri (talk) 14:15, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Quad Cities
Almost two y4ears ago now, you asked to adopt the Quad Cities Alliance (1983: Doomsday). Now I'm starting to look at maybe working out Illinois, sort of the big picture - how it collapsed, how the small pieces all emerged. That's also going to involve writing about the as-yet-unwritten origins of the Quad Cities Alliance, and I'm wondering if that would be OK with you. I'm definitely more interested in the origins and early history, and I know you often like to write about more contemporary events and culture - maybe that's how we could divide the labor, if you're still planning to write for it. False Dmitri (talk) 04:41, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Hey - I'm leaving this in the same section so I hope you see it. I'm starting to have second thoughts about the Quad Cities. It feels more and more difficult to justify Rock Island not being taken out, it was/is the largest military manufacturing site in the country. There's really no justifying it other than "a miracle", which is currently what I have written under Illinois. But I'm thinking about opening a review to reconsider it. Let me know what you think, False Dmitri (talk) 18:27, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

I have adopted the Kentucky Commonwealth. I plan on writting about the the Kentucky having a split with Virginia a The Kentucky Virginia split start out with a slight cooling for relation between Kentucky and Virgina but we have breakup their alliance after Virginia tries and fails to rigg the 2022 Kentucky election or backs a failed military coup in Kentucky. New United States 3rd parties
I why I agree that the Republicans and the democrats will the main political parties in the united states but it i believe that the doomsday would caused a big enough political shakeup that several other parties would have seats in congress. The united states page mentions that the Oregon democracy colation and the and the libertarians have seats but I feel that would be room for one or two more parties in congress. I definitely think their show should progressive party because the democrats of the new unites are more conservative then the pre doomsday democrats. I know two people who would make plausible members of congress the for the untied states progressive party. The first is Wyoming state repsenitivite Tom Winters. Here's a link to information on his progressive political platform https://www.winterformontana.com/what-we-stand-for. The second is folk super star Rob Quist. Kentucky2
I have adopt the Kentucky page and plan to go on with gopzack plan for the Kentucky Virginia split and will plan to mention the But before I had a sections to the Kentucky history page about the Kentucky Virginia split a I need to come up with material for a section that gopzack wrote a heading for. That section is tittled the Terror Threat. I could use some help devopling that section. The biggest terror therht I can think that kentucky would raiders, a group of relgious white exmetists and maybe a orginized crie synidicate involed in bootlegging and raccketing among other crimes. I feel that it plauble that kentucky would have a bootlegging promble do you agree with me. Got any other suggestion about the terror threat secton. Also have you read my fisrt Kentucky post I left in march on your chat pageGoldwind1 (talk) 16:04, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Hi Goldwind, sorry for the late response! I suppose any of those could work as possibilities. Admittedly, I'm not as familiar with the established canon that would be related to that, but I do know that the Virginian survivor state has thus far been established as being pretty aggressive, so it could be a case of Kentucky being very wary of them for that reason perhaps. New Washington
Hello I was wondering if I could contribute to your article New Washington (1983: Doomsday) I was thinking that we could incorporate history from both the Pasco Free State (1983: Doomsday) article and the Astoria (1983: Doomsday) article to make up the pre unification history. I hope you will consider my request and my ideas.Tj7820 (talk) 00:54, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for allowing me to contribute. I made this map of the proposed state and I would like to know your opinion on it. Tj7820 (talk) 02:06, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
Hey TJ, sorry for the late reply! The color looks great, and this is a wonderful start! However, we just have to make sure the easternmost portions of Washington State aren't included (those belong to Lincoln). We can also shade in the central region of Washington State and the Willapa National Wildlife Reserve (it'll be the little piece of land just west of the Victoria survivor-state's southernmost claims). I'd say we could include the Wenatchee National Forest and the areas east of it (still west of Lincoln) right up to northern border of Washington State.
You're doing great, and I look forward to seeing more of your work (I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to actually producing maps on the computer)! I'm glad you're enjoying contributing! Best, GryffindorKrypton (talk) 00:06, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
The Kennedys
Hi GryffindorKrypton,
I can't help but notice you've decided to add Patrick Kennedy as the new head of the Kennedy household in the Doomsday arc. I've come to inform you that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was also alive in Pennington County Jail in South Dakota following a drug charge on a flight to New York. The current sheriff was Don Holloway. I thought you might find this information useful to kickstart a new page. Enjoy! Sheeplechase (talk) 00:24 June 29, 2022 (UTC)
Update: Since I could not contact you on Discord and as there is currently no reply to the comment above, I have decided to make part of the page myself in the proposals category. I still do not wish to go over any potential lore on the subject without you, so I am leaving this page up to you should you wish to edit it. Have a nice day! Further update: I appear to be an idiot. I did not see that you commented on my own talk page and now feel bad for editing this together. Ah, shucks. Well, like I said, it's all yours to change. No hard feelings mate! Sheeplechase (talk) 09:48, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
USAR Adoption Request: Effective August 7, 2022
Hello, all. As seen here and on the main talk page, the United States Atlantic Remnant is currently a point of contention between many authors trying to make the third World War a little more realistic. Currently, the page has some elements which, let's face it, could probably stand to change. Some of these, such as which ships survive and which don't, are surface level. Others, such as the continued large-scale presence of American naval ships is questionable at best. Still, there are fundamental issues with the article which I believe should be addressed. First and foremost, it is established in canon that there was a nuclear strike on Ceiba in Puerto Rico. According to this, the wind was blowing DIRECTLY AT the Virgin Islands at the time of Doomsday. So that's real bad news for the USVI. It's also established canon that Puerto Rico declares its independence shortly after Doomsday. I give my reasons for this in my Cuba rewrite sandbox, but maaaaaan Operation Bootstrap was bad news. So right now, the USVI holds some sort of radioactive islands. But fear not, reader! We can absolutely make this work, which is what I intend to do. The USVI are in the best position out of all the Virgin Islands. The Spanish and British Virgin Islands do not currently have pages. I think the USVI would be poised to assume control of these islands. Now, the USVI are immediately in trouble after Doomsday. You're just not going to farm for a large population and people are going to starve. The folks in the SVI and BVI are going to be migrating south to St Croix, the least radioactive of the Virgin Islands. You'll never guess what happens next. If you said "horrific starvation" and "rampant violence between the predominantly black natives and the military junta led by mutineers who also happen to be in danger of starving to death," you get full points! If you said "more migration," you get half points but you are right. If you said, "they just form a powerful flotilla without the ability to repair or resupply ships easily," you get no points. And can we talk about how, again, the USAR appears to just be a navy which is still in operation by the 2000s? These folks have more things to worry about than dirty commies at this point. They need food, electricity, medicine, the means to transport goods and citizens. Yeah there are pirates, but these are just guys in speedboats with AKs, you don't need a US naval warship to deal with it. I'd like to examine what happens to this navy in the long term. Right now, I am leading a review of the region and the Cuba article is over 70k bytes. We're only a year past 1983. With this adoption, I intend to:
- Establish what the heck happens to the other Virgin Islands.
- Reflect the changes I've made in the Cuba article which shed more light on the USAR's early years.
- Redo the flag.
- Change the flagship from the USS Independence to the USS John F Kennedy because the latter was about to leave dock before doomsday and it makes more sense for it to have survived.
- Explore what happens with the native Virgin Islanders. How does their culture continue and influence the military junta? What does someone from the USAR sound like? Do they speak Virgin Islander Creole? Is that just extinct?
- Redo the flag.
- Redo the map.
- Discuss the possibility of the USAR joining the PUSA. Daesung has been doing a rewrite with this. I'd like to have his influence in this page and allow him to make edits here too.
- Expand upon the USAR's involvement in CARICOM.
- Redo the flag.
- Consider the possibility of the article either referring to an earlier iteration of the United Virgin Islands or rename it to something which would reflect its name almost 40 years post-DD
- Redo the flag
I want to make it clear that I intend to respect what is already on the page unless it absolutely does not work. We're building on the ashes of the old world, not burning the world again. I'd like to allow you, BenSince I'm mostly focusing on Cuba right now, my efforts here will be sporadic at first, but this is an article which could really be something. Sometimes I like to jump around and really, it's high time we put some ink on paper with this review. If there are any questions, please refer to the 1983dd talk page or User:TheCrimsonOracle/Cuba (1983: Doomsday) for what I have so far. Otherwise you can find me on my talk page or discord. Hello Crimson, I actually would prefer to continue being the caretaker for the USAR page and not put it up for adoption. Truthfully speaking, it's actually one of my favorite articles that I've contributed to.
That said, you do make some interesting points here, and I will certainly try to integrate some of these ideas.

Very understandable! I'm glad you enjoy writing for the page, that's 100% the most important thing while writing. Best of luck, and I'll keep you posted about changes in canon as the review . Truth be told, I'm very glad to have another active writer in the region lololol.
