USSR's map
Hey LG, I'd like to ask for a favour, if that is ok with you. I was wondering if you would be willing to create a new map for Siberia after the new expansion takes place and is finished somewhere between early May-late June. I'm still sort of leaning towards a push in the direction of the north, but I was hoping to do one towards the south, around five to six months after the one in the north. I decided on this after I looked at Kazakhstan more thoroughly and realized that the USSR didn't have to a large area of Kazakhstan to reach Aralia, only around half of Aktobe and a large part of Kostanay, which would benefit them if wheat could still be grown there.
In any case, let me know if your up for it.--Vladivostok 17:30, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, well, lets look over what I had in mind then. I was thinking of them controling that small part of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug they aren't already. I was thinking they would expand slightly in Komi, so they would control about half of it. The Arkhangelsk oblast would then take up the majority of the expansion, around 3/4 of it within control. The whole SK annexation happens as planned of course. However, I wasn't sure about Murmansk Oblast. It is fairly empty, other than the Sapmi state, and they aren't really that friendly with the NU. Possible occupation?
Oh, and it would be great if the USSR map would have the various territories and republics highlighted, like the current one has. Once again, thanks for doing this, the current map is getting a bit grainy, lol.--Vladivostok 09:37, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
Well ok then, that is a bit disappointing, as one of the other reasons to enter the region was a port in Murmansk to give them some access to the Atlantic again. Although a port in Arkhangelsk or former SK would probably work just as well. My plan for announcing this was as follows: I'd announce today that the forces amassing on the USSR's western borders were indeed sent out to grab land and to formally annex SK.
Then, I'd also write that the start of this move would take place on the 5th of May as well. You don't have to finish the map by then, there is no rush, as it would take some time (a month, probably more) to acquire the land and secure it. The name I was thinking of would be something like the Northwestern Territory, but I'm open to suggestions.--Vladivostok 10:06, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
I have just now realized I accidentally reverted one of your edits to the Doomsday page. Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it, I was just checking some of the edits on a mobile device and clicked revert by mistake. I welcome the edits and making the list more complete for the USSR.--Vladivostok 17:28, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
Military Alliance to be announced?
I remember you saying that the military alliance between Chumash and Visaili would be announced today October 1, so I was wondering if we were still going along with that or if it was to be put on hold or what? Yes I did read the post on the WCRB news page about Visaili and the Chumash ambassador visiting. Just get back to me when you can about military operations against Ventura and Santa Cruz (I know you said Ventura specifically but Santa Cruz is still a threat, and going down the 101 is pretty much a straight shot into the central coast, also I don't know where you got "mountains between Chumash and Bakersfield" remember I live here and its pretty much a 2 and a half hour drive into Kern and a 3 hour drive into Bakersfield with only a few small hills along the way). Anyways best of luck. Riley.Konner 10:10, October 1, 2011 (UTC) EDIT reversion:Sorry I just noticed that know were in that discussion did you mention any "mountains" that's my mistake and it will never happen again. Riley.Konner 10:33, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
- I've seen what has been posted, and thank you for updating the Chumash page. In addition to the highways mentioned, Chumash can also send a few Bradley tanks to Visali via highway 46 (though that highway is a death trap lol) and 41. Bombing also sounds good, and naval bombardments from Chumash. I'm thinking a battle between the CRS Santa Barbara and a Venturan ship being called a modern battle between the USS Constitution and the HMS Guerriere. Also I'm working on a WCRB post that is a response given by Vilodari Scholairi and his vows to crush both the countries. Also I thought of a name for the Visali-Chumash alliance I'm thinking Organized States of California or the OSC. As for Mozambique that is at the bottom of my to do list, I'll see what happens in a couple of months. Riley.Konner 12:24, October 6, 2011 (UTC)
Siberian expansion and the areas around Novgorod, Sapmi and Finland
Hey Ganon, I'd like to propose something regarding the territory the SIberian expansion would cover.
Now, based on the map of the NU, could the Siberians take what is left of Karelia and the area between Novgorod and the NU? This would cause tension and I was thinking of adding a bit about some skirmishes or incidents happening while Northern Hammer took place. Nothing serious but I mean, why hype the return of the USSR into this area if there isn't going to be any tension. Let me know what you think and feel free to say where the borders could start between these countries.Vladivostok 18:08, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
Yes it is true I haven't been as active as I should have been, sorry about that. In any case, it is a shame that Novgorod controls that area, I was hoping the Siberians would be the ones to acquire the ruins of Leningrad, oh well.
But I was hoping for the annexation of the Kola peninsula, I wanted to have a sort of Berlin airlift event in which the Siberians try and cut off Sampi, only to have the NU basically make their efforts worthless with air support.
I didn't think it was a stretch because the troops that would occupy the area would be from Soviet Karelia, not the principal forces of the USSR.--Vladivostok 11:03, December 1, 2011 (UTC)
Well, after taking a look at the geography of Kola, I see you're right, a lot of mountain ranges are on the peninsula. But they are in the west and north part of the peninsula, the south-east is mostly flat areas. Now, it is true that these areas are difficult to reach, especially because other that some smaller cities on the coast, there aren't any roads. However, they don't actually have to physically patrol the area just yet to stake their claim.
Now of course air support would be scarse at best in the first expansion, but having just a couple of planes patrol the air space in this area would come a long way in discouraging any other group from trying to take that said area.
Now I also just wanted to bring up the new map for the USSR and the area in general. As far as the rest of the expansion, are we on the same page? So, I believe we said when we originally discussed this ages ago that they would take most of Arkhangels oblast, half of the Republic of Komi and Soviet Karelia.Vladivostok 10:43, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
Qu'il Tous
So I think for our next step for Qu'il Tous, its time to start getting into some of the more political details of America and France, mostly by created an article for the Prime Ministers of France, Speaker of the House, somethings for the Senate of the US, and maybe a list of British Prime Ministers. Featured Page Blurb
Hi LG, I have a quick request.
May I rewrite my timeline's "blurb" that gets posted when it is featured on the front page? I don't know where, if anywhere accessible, I could find the blurb to edit it.
Red VS Blue (talk) 14:33, September 25, 2014 (UTC)
You said to leave the template on "a talk page" but I'll assume that you mean your own (if not, feel free to redirect me elsewhere). The template is everything inside { } brackets without including the lines that have the brackets on them:
{
This timeline explores a world which diverged from history at two independent points:
Marcus Aurelius is followed as Princeps Civitatis by a more competent, adopted son, maintaining the period of the "Good Emperors" for another two centuries. With a stable hold on its territory and a clearer form of government, the Roman Empire does not fall. On the other side of the world, one of the city-states of the Maya civilization comes under the leadership of its own "great unifier" (ala Temujin or Charles the Great) - a man of great charisma and a breaker of old traditions. His effort to unite the Maya into a confederation of cities creates a lasting state, centered on the captured metropolis of Teotihuacan.
From these points, the alternate history goes in an entirely different direction from actual history. Industrialization in one part of the world is fueled by water instead of coal, a pure representative method of democracy is never established, and no existing states are recognizable as countries that exist in the modern world (differing in name, territories, government, or culture).
For the foreseeable future, a major rewrite of this timeline will be underway - largely invalidating the modern world presented in articles such as the Roman Empire or the world wars. Those pages will be left untouched for the enjoyment of readers but anyone wishing to see the final form of this timeline should start reading the timeline from 180 CE (933 AUC). A snapshot of the Roman Empire in the year 580 CE (1333 AUC) stands as a milestone to summarize developments to the reader.
Anyone interested in plausibility may be inclined to read an explanation for the historical fall of the Roman Empire, which can be compared with the events in this timeline as a measure of the plausibility of a surviving Roman Empire.
}
Much appreciated, my friend!

A Kiribati Idea for 13 Fallen Stars
I know its been a while since I last asked for your input, but I'm still unaware whether or not you'd have the time to answer. But I've read a couple of things about Kiribati and I wanted to get your two cents before I get all hyped like I usually do.
I came across some interesting connections between the archipelagos of Kiribati and several New Yorkers. Charles Wilkes was among the first to explore the islands (especially the Line Islands, the Phoenix Islands, and at least of the islands of Tokelau). A New Yorker formally claimed the Palmyra Atoll (which is the only "organized incorporated territory" of the US). It also appears that Spain may have had claims to Kiritimati (though this may be irrelevant).
The simplified version I have would be that New Netherland would beat the British in formally establishing a government there (or proclaiming a protectorate). Since NN already has Tuvalu, they would be near by to do a similar deal as the British did OTL. They would later expand to include the Phoenix and Line Islands, and possibly Tokelau.
All of this is circumstantial at best, and I'm not counting the possibilities that the Brits ramp-up their efforts in the area following the purchase of Spanish Micronesia, or that some kind of compromise would've been preferred (like NN takes Fiji and the UK leaves them alone), or other reasons the Brits might become aggressive in some way. This is why I wish for your input to at least get this out of my head and move on (and not get too hyped).
I was also considering the possibility of Clipperton Island being annexed to act as a base for the Nicaragua Canal (since the Galapagos would be much farther south), but not sure the French would like this.
I also have other ideas I wish to get your feedback on, but I don't wish to bother you if you are busy. So lets leave it with this one for now. I look forward to your answer. -- NuclearVacuum 01:15, October 18, 2014 (UTC)
Bloomsburg Fair
Hey, LG, I was looking around the internet and discovered/realized that the Bloomsburg Fair in Bloomsburg, PA (The capitol of Susquehanna) was occurring the day of Doomsday. I talked with someone who said that there were 5,000 people there that day as vendors and an additional 35,000 visitors to the fair. That would have an obvious impact on the local population in the present, wouldn't it?
Thanks, Daeseunglim (talk) 01:52, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
Wilkes Barre
Hey, LG, I am not trying to change canon or anything, I was just curious. When looking around the internet, I found this: http://www.survivalring.org/targetlist/about-us/the-originalus-nuclear-targets/ . The site lists Pennsylvania nuke targets as:
- Primary
- None
- Secondary
- Pittsburg
- Philadelphia
- Harrisburg
- Scranton
- Willow Grove
- Tertiary
- Allentown
- Altoona
- Beaver
- Bethlehem
- Chester
- Erie
- Harrisburg
- York
- Johnstown
- Lancaster
- Natrona Heights
- Mechanicsburg
- Reading
- Waynesboro
I know an actual war may play out differently, but Wilkes-Barre is not even listed as a tertiary target. Yes, the city would have taken severe damage from the blast at Scranton, lots of people would have died, it probably would have to be abandoned, but I doubt it was nuked. Not to mention, still a chunk of the population would have survived the blast and made it to what is now Susquehanna.
Thanks, Daeseunglim (talk)

I am unfamiliar with wiki rules on copying stuff from other, but does this violate any rules? I am not trying to cause any issues, but just want admin to be aware of it.
Yeah. I was reading through it, and it's really unrealistic. It's like what you have said on the main talk page. Other cities will replace destroyed ones, and many independent nations will never rejoin the reformed USA (ie: Virginia) due to nationalism and the length of time. I know even for my nation, I changed the rejoining the USA thing, b/c I got to thinking and realized it has been 31 years. The people who would still want to rejoin are out of office for the most part, and younger generations are taking over. They would understand what the US stood for, and it was important in the past, but now it is gone. Daeseunglim (talk)
That as well, lol! Daeseunglim (talk)
Hey, LG
EoGuy
What do you mean? He changed the rules of my map game, and put spelling errors on dozens of pages. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and assumed he was simply using the wiki bot, and didn't mean to edit the rules like that. Else it would be rather odd to go about changing the map game's rules like that. I didn't mean to come off as offensive or derogatory, I was just slightly annoyed, as this isn't the first time I've had this discussion with him. If he was doing it on purpose, even after I specifically told him not to, I believe that would be vandalism. Notice I talked to him about it instead, rather than going to the TSPTF, because I doubt EoGuy had malicious intentions. Mscoree (talk) 23:20, December 25, 2014 (UTC)

Two Different Queens; One Survives, Another Dies
Hello LG,
I hope you are well, and enjoying the holiday season, if you choose to celebrate it.
I recently came up with two different points of divergence, and I was wondering if, if you have time, you could give your opinion on their possible ramifications. The first concerns Charlotte, Princess of Wales. The POD would be that rather than dying in childbirth in 1817, she survived and went on to succeed her father as queen. Considering that the monarch held relatively little real power at this point, I don't think Queen Charlotte would make Britain significantly different from otl. Rather, I think she would effectively be an earlier Victoria, with Leopold taking on the role of Prince Albert. With Leopold thus occupied, when the Belgians gain their independence and go on their quest for a king, who do you think they would pick (or rather, have imposed upon them)? From what I have read, the Belgian National Congress chose Louis-Phillippe's second son as first choice, Auguste de Beauharnais as second choice, and Archduke Charles of Austria as a distant third. Seeing as none of those choices were agreeable to the Great Powers (or should I say, agreeable to Britain) otl, do you think this ttl Charlottine Britain would also pick an outsider? And just as a side-note, considering Leopold's potential influence, do you think it possible for him to advance his nephew, Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, as a possible candidate? His protestantism should not pose a problem, considering Leopold himself was protestant.
My second concerns Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands dying in childbirth in 1909, along with her child. This would have left the throne of the Netherlands to Wilhelm Ernest of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, however he had stated that if offered the crown, he would refuse it. If this were the case, it would pass to his aunt, Marie Alexandrine of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. If, as was generally expected, she declined it in favour of her son, then Prince Heinrich XXXII of Reuss would become king. Now, were this to have occurred, do you think that the Washington Post's claim that King Heinrich would "...bring Holland within the sphere of the German Empire, at the expense of her independence, both national and economic" would hold true? I am not entirely sure how much influence the Dutch monarch had at that point, but if it was as much as the (somewhat sensationalist-sounding) Post claimed, could Heinrich not have brought the Netherlands into WWI on the side of the Central Powers? And, even if this had occurred, would thhe Dutch have had any impact at all on the war? I believe that Britain was already blockading the Netherlands, so an actual Dutch entry into the war would mean next to no difference to the British fleet. But do you think the Dutch Army might have had some little impact on the Western front? I have no idea of its size. And also, assuming the Allies won, do you think it would be reasonable to say that the Dutch would lose the East Indies? Or could a Dutch campaign against Malaysia and Australian New Guinea tie down valuable British resources which could have been used on the Front?
Anyway, I hope to hear your thoughts,
Callumthered (talk) 14:03, December 31, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, I really should have taken Albert's age into consideration, haha. Interesting point you make about the Greek throne though. And I did think the Washington Post was being a little bit sensationalist with their claims. Thanks for the help!

Victory of the Gray
Greetings LG,
Previously you had marked this most recent TL of mine ASB-biased, to which I responded by leaving a query as to why this was done on your talk page as well as outlining my dispute with that classification. Having recieved no response, I reversed the edits and you left it alone (Appearing to have accepted my reasoning) until my most recent grammatical update to it. May I request as to why this was done this time? If you have some specific problem with the TL, please convey to me what that is when you have the chance.

A Not-So-New, New Idea
Hi, LG.
As we go into our second decade of wiki-ship, I think that we could incorporate a neat feature that I have seen executed really well elsewhere: the Featured Article.
Instead, we operate a Featured TL, which I believe can still be retained, but I see the following issues with only having a Featured TL and not a Feautred Article as well:
- The Featured TLs are all so good: Let's face it: practically no TL can compare to 83:DD, Superpowers, GWS, or the Kalmar Union. They are all terrific. To nominate a TL to Featured Status is to confer unto it the same level of prestige as these great works, and therefore we get practically no nominations.
- Article writing leads to TL writing: As someone who has written a few TLs, and most of DD, you surely know that the way to write a TL is to write articles. The more, in-depth articles one has, the better quality the TL overall is. Introducing an incentive to write great articles is introducing an incentive to write great TLs.
- Stirlings only come once a year: One of the hottest categories in the Stirlings is Best New Article, but these include only a small cross-section of the thousands of articles made annually. If we could narrow it down and only look on a monthly basis, we could do a better job rewarding TL writers.
Now, a number of other wikis have Featured Articles, most notably Wikipedia and Wookieepedia. I urge you to consider this proposal; it has already gotten the approval of your fellow Brass, Imp.
Thank you very much for your time! Reximus | Talk to Me! 20:09, January 18, 2015 (UTC)
I apologize in that I don't think I was very clear with this whole long proposal. Pretty much, all I wanted to say was that we should set up a Featured Article section. I don't think we should give monthly awards other than the Featured Article section. Nor do I think we should move Stirlings or anything like that.
If you think it is an alright idea, I could create the rules in an extension page of mine and then try to get it all set up for you so that it can be presented in a more official and more complete manner. Again, that is only if you think its ok. Thank you, Reximus | Talk to Me! 19:55, January 19, 2015 (UTC)
Re:OFS, NUSA
Well I have talked to this with Oer about such a thing occuring. But I do feel that it cannot be NUSA. I might have a look with OFS to see if I should remove that newshour or not. However, I might have the AEC instead pressure them to change their ways. They kinda do need an update in the laws as the start of globalisation begins in this ATL.
However, NUSA breaking up is most likely happening tbh. It does seem like an outdated idea and I can see where Oer is coming from with NUSA.
So yea Imp (Say Hi?!) 13:04, January 19, 2015 (UTC)
Right I see your point. Yea I will keep the fact that NUSA is going to break up but I'll remove any mention of legislatation passed by OFS for such a move for equality. Perhaps I'll just instead state the coloureds feel that there should be more equality and a small minority of the whites agree or something.
So the beginnings of change, but nothing really happening. Perhaps a rally occurs in the OFS for this issue, which gets (violently?) broken up?
Yea of course not. I think this golbalisation can be compared to like the late 80s or early 90s. But of course they will reach the stage we are at quicker than we did cause the base for such is already there. Imp (Say Hi?!) 09:58, January 20, 2015 (UTC)
Right ok, cheers. I did think it made sense to have something of the sort with coloreds. I'll change the WCRB Newshour soon.
Wow, so really authoratative with the whole "more rights for different races"?
I guess. We will first need the re-establishment of commercial air travel for this to really take off. Mobility for people was quite an influence factor. Perhaps the Celtic Union is finally starting to expand its control over the oil fields. On another topic, would Mexico have taken over the American off-shore oil-fields? The M14's were a combination of scavenged weapons from National Guard armories, Army Reserve armories, ROTC and JROTC facilities, Tobyhanna Army Depot, and ones purchased from Virginia (although most were scavenged). There are actually quite a few in my area. Daeseunglim (talk)

Hi. I'm interested in contibuting to the timeline, and I was hoping to adopt Don Republic (1983: Doomsday) and expand and otherwise add detail to the article a bit. Since you were the last active editor to edit the article, I figured you may as well be assumed to be the owner. CoS Defense Forces
The automatic rifleman is different than the machine gun team. The automatic rifleman has a fully automatic M14, for light suppression fire. The other soldiers in the unit are suppose to fire on single shot, or semiautomatic. The machine gun team is independent of the infantry fireteam. Daeseunglim (talk)
So two infantrymen? I based the fireteam around a US army fireteam without the grenadier. The M14 was suppose to act as a SAW as well. That is why it is designate for the fireteam. Also, the reason why there is a AR is because the units armed with the M1919 are support units, not always deployed forward with the regular infantry. What about the Bren SAW? It shares ammunition and increases the capacity for the fireteam. Also, would it be possible for Susquehanna to begin manufacturing grenade launchers? It would be closer to a rifle grenade launcher than a modern day underslung grenade launcher, but would be an under barrel attachment. It would use the standard hand grenade and a blank to launch the grenade. Daeseunglim (talk)
Ok. Daeseunglim (talk) 16:52, February 5, 2015 (UTC)
I understand what you are saying, but I do disagree with your reasoning. Susquehanna has been fighting raiders for years. This is similar to the US War on Terror albeit more sucessful. A US military fireteam has a Team Leader, Infantryman, Grenadier, and Automatic Rifleman. I am basing Susquehanna's fireteam off of that. I understand the lack of a grenadier, but I do believe that an AR would be very useful, especially against the massive attacks that the enemy launchs. The way an AR would work, is, unless given orders to fire on full automatic, would act as a base infantryman on semiauto. If needed, they would be able to fire SHORT bursts at a mass of enemies. It would not be exactly like a US AR today, but would still have that capacity to an extent. Daeseunglim (talk)
Ok, thanks! Daeseunglim (talk)

Leadership
Would it make sense for Susquehanna to change the leadership title from Governor and Lieutenant Governor to President and Vice President or Premier? My thoughts on it was governor was typically used for the leadership of a sub-entity, while president is used for an independent government.
I feel it would put out a stronger feelings that Susquehanna is actually independent, or other nations take it more seriously.
Also, if so, considering strong ties with Canada, but strong American culture, would it make more sense to call the secondary leadership Vice President or Premier? Daeseunglim (talk)

Question
Good afternoon LG,
I am outlining a possible timeline of mine and I would like some input of yours. The idea of it is Hugh Capet is unable to exert central authority over the french states, and West Francia devolves into a HRE-esque state and just as divided when it comes to a common policy, while East Francia still morphs into the Holy Roman Empire.
My question is what effects this will have on areas such as the Iberian Penninsula and the British isles. For one, I'd imagine the Hundred Years War would most likely never happen. On the other hand, I don't know if the Norman invasion of England would occur, and if so how a divided France would affect the outcome.
If you could answer these questions, as well as offer any suggestions, I'd appreciate that.
Good day, I am that guy (talk) 22:22, February 8, 2015 (UTC)
My questions
im looking back at my first timeline and it has come to my attention that there are alot of issues with it most of which im trying to address. the main point being that i dont like how the joanne of the arc pod is working out im thinking about switching it to the surprise of meaux or to the amboise conspiracy succeeding. Im not looking to make France protestant but rather to have a different french war of religion, albiet similar results the catholics eventually win and the huguenots flee to the netherlands, England, or to the protestant german states.
Also i wanted to figure out just how Oda Nobunaga's survival would effect Japanese unification.

TSPTF Question
Hello LG, I hope you have been doing well.
I have a question about the TSPTF, and my role in regards to it. I will admit, I'm not usually on enough to deal with rollbacks or deleting articles and adding categories and the maintenance of the Wikia. However, I'm wondering if maybe a new category for members of the TSPTF should be established where instead of dealing with upkeep and the like, we instead make it clearer to newer users and those that need help with help with their timelines themselves, in regard to plausibility and writing their stories as best as possible. It would be more an advisory to help if asked for instead or marching about trying to make sure everything conforms to a set standard.
I'm only curious about doing this because I feel that I could do that easier than dealing with the other issues that the rest of the TSPTF has done a good job so far of keeping on top of, at least as far as I know. Even if you don't want it to be part of the TSPTF, if we had some older, more experienced users who can help newer users when they work on their timelines, and an easy way to get a hold of them, would help immeasurably for those that are only just starting out here.
Thanks Tbguy1992; Talk; Blog 18:51, March 8, 2015 (UTC)
Tbguy and LG,
If I may jump into this conversation, then I'd like to add my own support of this idea, accompanied by the suggestion that access to such "mentors" for users could be made available through the welcome message that every new user receives.
Rarely do I see ideas suggested for this wiki that strike me as "good" but this idea immediately caught my attention and I would be willing to argue in its favor. I think it's a damn fine idea.

Kanjorski
So even though he lives in Nanticoke, you believe he would have died? Also, if so, I respect your opinion, as you have been very helpful to me! Would you have any ideas for another lieutenant governor? My only thoughts about changing the title to President and Vice President was due to Susquehanna not claiming to be a successor state to Pennsylvania. It recognizes State College as the successor to the former state. All it would really entail is name change and a new stamp, lol.
Also, when would it be possible for the coal power plant to be brought back online? I don't think that the nuke plant will ever be recommissioned as it would be extremely cost prohibitive for such a project. But I thought by the end of 2015, early 2016, maybe a UC project so the nation isn't a burden to State College, NP, or Niagara Falls power grid. I figured power to major industries and hospitals first, radio stations, then federal buildings, then Hazleton, Bloomsburg, Danville, and possibly Berwick. I really doubt without massive aid that the other communities more than likely will not get power. I figured it would be like some African nations, where the industrial centers and major cities have electricity.
Also, I know off the top of my head that North Penn, Superior, Vermont, Canada, and Niagara Falls have TV in the UC operates one (I think), and more than likely Toledo, London, and Kingston (Although I think you told me once that is part of Canada now) have a station. I am unsure about Reading, State College, and Gettysburg.
When would a realistic time for my nation to get television? Also, is three radio stations too many? Daeseunglim (talk)

RE: Kanjorski, etc
Ok, thanks! What do you think of Tim Holden? He graduated in 1980 from Bloomsburg and worked in the area as an insurance broker. Also, alright with the power plants and stuff. My only thoughts was it did seem like overall there was a power shortage throughout the UC, and bringing Susquehanna's one power plant would help relieve some of the pressure. Also, I know that Berwick has heavy manufacturing equipment for rail cars (I think it is flatbeds, but not 100% sure), but doesn't London, Ontario manufacture trains? So would it be plausible for Susquehanna to sell London the equipment in exchange for aid in refurbishing the plant? Also, if/when the power plant was brought back online, would it be possible for the auto parts manufacturer to restart, or would Susquehanna trade the equipment for parts to Toledo or North Penn? Daeseunglim (talk)
Advice, please
So in my TL, Edmund Ironside lives longer than otl, meaning England is split longer than otl. When Edmund dies roughly twenty years later, his son and the Wessex nobles resist the claim of Cnut to it. Long story short, Cnut fails to take over Wessex, leaving him and his sons stuck with the Danelaw.
My problem is what would the Danes name their English territories? I'd figure Cnut and his immediate descendants would continue to call it "England". But after several failed attempts to subjugate Wessex, a sizable chunk of "England", I'd think that sooner or later the name would change. Would it be called Jórvìk, as that's what the old viking kingdom in roughly that area was called? Or would they opt for resurrecting the name of the Heptarchy kingdoms: Northumbria, Mercia, East Anglia? Or maybe something else, or maybe just stick with England to show a continued claim to Wessex?
I'm sorry if this seems like a mediocre question to spend your time on.
PA
Hey LG, Godfrey Ralphael and I were discussing relations between Susquehanna and the other PA survivor states. First off, who controls North Pennsylvania and State College. Secondly, we figured Reading and Susquehanna at least would have some sort of alliance.
Would an EU/NATO style relationship be possible for all of PA? And if so can I adapt the other page I had made? Daeseunglim (talk)
What are the four different goals? Also, would I be allowed to edit State College and NP and put in a short paragraph or sentence about contact with Susquehanna? Daeseunglim (talk)
Listen LG, I have noticed that the 1983:Doomsday page on the Azanian League has not mention on how Swaziland entered that country. Could you please write it?79.50.176.93 12:13, April 12, 2015 (UTC)
Awesome! Thanks! Also, I thought that NP and Reading had recognized State College as the PA sucessor state. Although I guess NP uses Pennsylvania State Flag. I might have misunderstood the articles. I hadn't realized how close to Virginia and Gettysburg had gotten. I knew NP was close with Canada though. I guess though proximity had an impact on their relations. Daeseunglim (talk)
Ok, thanks! Curious, I may have asked you this before, but what would the order be for the largest cities in Pennsylvania? I thought either Reading, or State College, then the other, then Meadville, then Hazleton, then Warren, then Gettysburg, and lastly Allentown. Daeseunglim (talk)

Pskov Category
I just wanted to say that I don't see a reason why there should be two separate categories at the moment. While the Pskov Republic is different from the Pskov Oblast, they still shared (roughly) the same borders. To me this sounds no different then how Persia and Iran are the same yet describe different times (and that we should use the contemporary ones). I'd like to request that you revert this when you can. -- NuclearVacuum 15:39, April 14, 2015 (UTC)
- I'd also like to note that every article and file related to the Pskov Republic were done by a single user and are used on a single timeline (which at the same time already have a timeline-related category). -- NuclearVacuum
15:43, April 14, 2015 (UTC)
So I'm to assume you had zero intention of reverting anything. All I wanted to do was simplify everything, but you wish to make it more complicated? I have no idea what you want me to do anymore. First you scolded me years ago for making specific categories, and now you're doing the same for making simplified ones? Which do you want?
I just wanted to help out, but now I give up! -- NuclearVacuum 20:37, April 15, 2015 (UTC)
- I was referring to the conflicting pieces of information you are giving me, not the way you gave it years ago. But you wouldn't allow for categories for the FSM, yet are keen on allowing ones for the historic states of Germany and Russia.
- I would prefer we use simplified categories that are based on their contemporary counterparts. With the case of categories for the USSR and Russia, these two correspond mostly to two separate things (especially in area). Iran and Persia were primarily in the same area.
- But if you wish to have more complex ones, than I will work with this. But there needs to exist no hypocrisy. If there is to be multiple categories for cities and countries depending on their historic circumstances, than this should be the whole case (i.e., what I wanted to do with the FSM). If you want to keep categories in some collective one, than this should be the case for all (especially with those that have very little articles/files on this site).
- The reason I combined Pskov was because there exists only one article for it. If there existed multiple articles of just the republic, I would still say we should keep a single category. If there existed multiple articles of the two separated, than I would greatly support there existing multiple categories.
- At the moment I'm just confused and frustrated at the situation, not at you (I'm completely sorry if I sounded as such). -- NuclearVacuum
19:24, April 17, 2015 (UTC)
The Wikipedia article state: "The term Micronesia may refer to the Federated States or to the region as a whole." The term is not exclusive to just the nation. This is why I wanted to create a category called "Federated States of Micronesia" and to have the "Micronesia" category before the region as a while (which includes multiple countries and territories. From this logic, this is just as valid an argument as for there to exist two or more articles for Iran, Kaliningrad, Pskov, and whatever else is the case.
Comparing this to Istanbul/Constantinople is not correct. In fact, why isn't this category separated? If Iran and Persia, Kaliningrad and Königsberg are different enough to warrant separate categories, why not this one?
There needs to be some kind of standardization, not a case-by-case basis. That's more what I'm upset about. -- NuclearVacuum 21:07, April 19, 2015 (UTC)
- Forgive me, but this continues to sound hypocritical to me, and I don't think there's anything I can do to justify this in my head without it exploding. I think I'm just going to stay away from categories in the future and allow you to do what needs to be done in this field. -- NuclearVacuum
02:08, April 21, 2015 (UTC)
Could you please explain to me what's appropriate for personal categories? Recently, you removed such categories from a series of images of real people, but kept other from the same group. How would Stephen Harper be okay, while Erna Solberg wouldn't be? -- NuclearVacuum 16:44, April 28, 2015 (UTC)
- You do know that many of those categories included articles about said individual (since you removed them), so please don't say that "there's nothing else for the other names." Also, what happened to "better to have the differences now, then later."? -- NuclearVacuum

Hey there,
My timeline is not finished yet, not everything that is part of it will become cannon
I am asking you to please or to give permission to remove the ASB tag.
There is a thin line between what may be plausible to someone's perception between one person or another. My timeline may seem slanted to you but it just a story, the events that happened, unlikely but to just denounce them is prejudiced. If you sat back and judged real history it would be to easy to point out events that don't make any sense as ASB. One could call anything a wank. The rise of Christianity out all of the tiny religions that in the Roman Empire to eventually become that nation's state religion and the largest religion of the world could be called an bias timeline if that had not happened. The Mongols in the 13th century exploding over Eurasia from an alliance of Steep tribes would also be bias in a world where the khans had just remained chieftains. What about the Nazi party founded by a bus driver becoming the world's infamous organization just because of one man joining and transforming their party. The rise of Homio Sapiens to evolve better than all other human species. One of the most historically conservative nations in the world- China eventually adapting a radical ideology that came from halfway around the world in Germany. Or perhaps the story of one small ancient people, the Hebrews still being remembered because of texts they wrote. Would these all be ASB is these had not happened in the real past? Could you imagine a fictional version yourself not labeling at least one them. I could go on and on with examples.
At the end of the day A.H writers can only hope to imitate history through our writing, we can't truly hope to emulate a created history that as imagined that will be as complicated, elaborate or confused as real history. It can't be done. We only see to satisfy ourselves in our own interests, we attempt to though for this to make fairly realistic or possible. The act to do so isn't easy and not everyone agrees with what is possible or not because we all have our own opinions. Our opinions may come from our knowledge level of history, our life experiences and our personality.
If you think my TL is horrible fine, you have the right to your opinion; constructive criticism is welcome, to me it is desired. But by your divine moderator powers relegating a project to an unflattering category, according what- your own opinion, just your opinion. You know more about history than I do, your older than many of us here and your ideas can help us. But you don't that you just look at something real quickly decide its against what is reasonable to you and put a label on it that is designed to convince the casual reader that the works are absolute garbage. Because somehow it will distinguish the rest of the wiki that you do like or at least tolerate from those unclean ASB articles. In the process I think a certain size of creativity is lost on this wiki, I am not talking about my own timeline but others that have been discredited. You know some featured histories have the ASB label, does that make them unworthy?
Granted there are some timelines that have such a thin veil to advocate for political ideas but that still doesn't justify to me the mass labeling of so many articles whenever and wherever you wish, The ASB label, especially the multiple labels are designed to create an unfriendly atmosphere that puts some works permanently better/worse than others based on a single person's opinion. In the abstract ASB has some value to create limits for those of us who do like a certain degree of realism but on this website it has been used to shame rather than to help. My problem with the ASB is not with criticism but the implications given on this website When the label is given opinions or suggestions are not often given just the label. No help or discussion basically an insult to the concept that the timeline is exploring.
This work is a creative endeavor, we are not being strict engineers or chemists that must for the sake of their work being meaningful sticking to specific natural laws. We are writers dealing with the creation of history out of arbitrary values we create if we do not have the smallest bit of creativity than we do not have alternative history.
Is not an irony that you labeled a timeline ASB that had been written by the user that brought the concept to this wiki?
If you read the ASB page made by Chewy it dosen't really sound all that negative, but today at this wiki the label has been interepted as such. Surley Chewy didn't think his idea was ASB or he did it didn't matter to him because he just wanted to do it.
Never mind that there was no disscussion by users on whether it was ASB, that the user hasn't been around to defend his work or that the idea was given some positive feedback in the talk page.
This letter isn't meant to be a personal attack on you or what you have done to manage the Wiki this past five years but is a suggestion to reconsider the new specified ASB categories and to change the manner in which you apply them. I this wiki was made to create a community for history enthusiasts to have fun, to discuss what we like to talk about and to enjoy the writing not just for the final product for the act of writing.
Sincerely, UserRevisited
Okay, I'll take your word for it. Maybe I respond to term too negatively, explain it to me.
"Messing" Part 2
My apologies for what I said, I didn't know you were the owner and was rather pissed. I don't mean any disrespect by my language I used back then, but I would like to ask whether I could restart on this wiki, if that's possible. Nicktc 09:25, April 19, 2015 (UTC)

Not exactly "Messing" Part 4
Oh lol, that doesn't sound good. What happened? If I may ask. Nicktc 07:37, April 20, 2015 (UTC)
Ah, I gather that is positive. Anyway, I kinda want to start all over, but do I just label my old pages with a Delete template then and wait for them to be removed? Nicktc 10:39, April 20, 2015 (UTC)
Ah, great. Is there a delay for when a page is deleted? Nicktc 15:29, April 23, 2015 (UTC)
Kingsport, Tennessee
Hi LG, I know that the list of targets on Doomsday is never complete, but GBUSA and I were talking. Kingsport Tennessee hosted a manufacturing plant that produced explosives for the US Navy Trident missiles. I don't know if it was a super important target, so just asking. Daeseunglim (talk)

Deleting
Hi LG,
I'm just wondering if there is any set guideline regarding how long we wait before deleting pages in the delete category. I seem to recall someone saying it was two weeks, but I figured I would ask first before jumping to conclusions.

Ms' Extension
Hi again LG,
Regarding your extension of Ms' ban, Ms wasn't the one who convinced Toby to unban him, Trollis was the one who did it. If we are to establish a punishment for this, I feel like we should target those who are responsible rather than someone who did nothing wrong in this case.
"This is not your grave but you are welcome in it." 22:10, May 13, 2015 (UTC)
Ms didn't do anything here, he didn't know what the people on the wiki said on his behalf, or planned to do. All he did was see he was unbanned, and edited. By banning him longer all that is done is victim blaming, implying it is his fault for receiving the unban, once you get past any pretense that Ms somehow orchestrated this endeavor.
Don't see any reason to ban anyone really, and if you recall, when Imp did this exact thing all you did was merely undo the unbanning. Yes, perhaps my evidence on the TSPTF talk page convinced Toby that Ms was innocent and deserved an unban, but I don't think having an opinion or being persuasive is a crime, and most of all merely happening upon an unban in Ms' case should not be.
Thanks, Tr0llis (talk) 22:48, May 13, 2015 (UTC)
Anyway I can get a response on this? Tr0llis (talk) 00:26, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Hi Lordganon
Thank you for your efford to modify my page. I really appreciate it. The problem is I don't know how to change the link on my other page to the new address. Please head to my page, the great khmer empire, you would see the link in the templete "NationInfo", Emperor, and please change the address of the link. I don't know how. Thank you, and please forgive my English.

Is it plausible for Susquehanna Bank and Finance to build a new headquarters? It would not be massive, maybe 250 feet tall, cement and steel construction, 25 above ground stories (2 service levels), one below ground level (parking and servicing), and be utilized by SB&F, as well as a few other companies and the government.
Similar to OTL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frost_Bank_Tower_(San_Antonio)
The bank is one of the most, if not the most successful companies in Susquehanna.

Albania in Venusian Haven
I did some reading about Albania today and was hoping you could clarify some scenarios with me.
You mentioned that Albania would likely co-operate with China ATL and establish settlements. However, Albania broke-up with China around 1978 and didn't return. What would be your reasoning for continued Sino-Albanian co-operation?
Also, how do you see Albania functioning in this timeline? Assuming the USSR and the southern Balkans remain Communist (which you suggested long ago), would Albania remain so too?
If so, what kind would they be? Two scenarios which come to mind:
- With communism in tact in the region, the post-Hoxha regime follows the reforms of Deng Xiaoping (as opposed to Gorbachev) as a way to satisfy its people yet retain control (not to mention regain China as an ally).
- They take autarky too seriously and pull a North Korea (isolation, Stalinist, crazy). This leave China as the only nation willing to co-operate with them.
I have nothing particular in mind, rather I would love to get some clarification. I also intend to begin a "New Albania" article soon, so knowing what the Motherland is like can help determine what the colony could be. -- NuclearVacuum 03:59, June 4, 2015 (UTC)
- So basically what your saying is that Albania (all in all) would remain isolationist and would be (for all intense and purposes) ignored by both the USSR and PRC. If this is correct, would this mean a Albanian settlement on Venus (let alone a Chinese-backed one) would now be out of the question? -- NuclearVacuum

Quite disappointing, but thank you so much for your input. -- NuclearVacuum 16:48, June 9, 2015 (UTC)
- I wrote an updated timeline/scenario for the Soviet Bloc in Venusian Haven. I wanted to know if it sounds accurate. The part about Yugoslavia is a last-ditch effort to salvage something beyond a Serbia and Montenegro state, so forgive me if it sounds very off. -- NuclearVacuum

Suggestions for SYD
Hello LG,
I have been working on a timeline called Similar Yet Different for quite sometime now. One of the goals of this timeline was to make it as realistic as possible by taking events that occurred in history and tweaking them (such as the August Coup or the Second Italo-Ethiopian War). I have tried my best to keep it from being too ASB.
The event I am talking about is the 1960 election. It was one of the closest elections in history and in SYD the election goes to Nixon. Since Nixon isn't around to run in 1968, it makes sense that Ronald Reagan would be the Republican Party's nominee in 1968 (considering he came in second during the primaries). Though another event is RFK avoids being assassinated in 1968 and goes on to become the Democratic Party's nominee in the 1968 election (which he wins). Though considering Nixon being more moderate in 1960 (which would most likely be carried on into his Presidency), would the conservative movement be less influential within the Republican Party?
I have a lot to ask, but I figured I'd start off asking you about a pretty important event in the timeline. Let me know what you think!
Best Regards, Yankee97
Affiliation
Greetings. I am Sonicfan919. I come on behalf of the Bring Your Ideas to Life Wiki. The Bring Your Ideas to Life Wiki is interested in the possibility of the Alternate History Wiki being an affiliate. To attract more editors and to make a network of similar wikis, the Bring Your Ideas to Life Wiki is starting an affiliation program where we trade links with wikis similar in nature then display those links on the main pages. Partnering with our wiki will benefit this wiki as well by bringing in talented editors from other wikis. Our two wikis would be good partners because both encourage imaginative and creative writing to masterfully weave new worlds and pique readers' interests.
We hope you consider partnering with us. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. We hope to hear from you soon. ......... (talk) 06:05, June 14, 2015 (UTC)

ASB-Biased tag
Hey LG, I noticed you labelled one of my TLs ASB-Biased. I'd appreciate it if you'd offer some reasoning for this, since it seems eminently plausible for a defeat at Fort Meigs to result in the survival of an Indian state in the Midwest, at least for a couple decades. Right now, this looks like an arbitrary drive-by tagging without reasoning on your part. Thanks, Shikata ga nai! 22:31, June 17, 2015 (UTC)

Capital
Would it make sense for Susquehanna to build a new capital district? I thought they could use the Laurel Mall near Hazleton.
It would give the government more space for offices and departments, and return Bloomsburg to Columbia County.
There are two wings, one to be used by each portion of the General Assembly. A wing could be added for the Governor and the Supreme Courts. Outside there is a strip mall which could be converted to be more office space.

Leighton
I left a request to adopt this page from Happy65 as he hasn't edited in months. He has not replied, and I requested last month. May I adopt it? I am still unsure on the whole adoption process, lol.
My plan for the city-state is to convert it to a dictatorship which more or less survived due to the raiders in the area ignoring it for better supplies areas, Reading being preoccupied with aforementioned raiders, and Susquehanna just too far away.
After the raiders are forced out of Allentown in 2011, they attack Leighton and a small war of two evils breaks out. Reading military forces chasing down some survivors come across the situation and report back to the military, while Susquehanna scout aircraft, preparing for a possible war, overflies the community and informs Reading (which already knew, but was glad for confirmation).
Reading attacks both sides in the city, and Susquehanna sends two platoons of infantry, as well as a section of the Susquehanna Guard. Both the dictatorship and raiders are either wiped out or kicked out (we shall see). Due to overpopulation (8,000 people in an area that can support about 4,000), Susquehanna takes 3,000 refugees back to their nation, Reading moves 1,000 around their nation, and after a long series of negotiations, Susquehanna agrees to allow Reading to take possession of the territory in exchange for claims on northern Carbon County being accepted and control over the current portions of Schuylkill County being recognized with no more expansion into the county as a condition.
Sorry that is so long, but what do you think? I might ask Godphrey for help. Daeseunglim (talk)

Hi Lordganon!
We’re reaching out to a few of our top communities, hoping to get you on board with the migration to the new infobox markup. Most current infoboxes don't translate well to mobile-- which is a problem because most of our users now view Wikia on mobile platforms.
We have an easy conversion tool to help you - if you are interested - change your infoboxes into mobile friendly versions!
If you click here, you can see the non-mobile friendly infoboxes. Simply click the “Convert!” button on the right to start the conversion process. (You have to first click convert, then publish, then "approve this draft" to make it go through). I can help you with this if you have any questions!
This is our help page for the new markup! Do you have any questions, comments, or concerns?!
Thanks!

When the TL was going to be more developed, then they would be used. I wanted to get that job out of the way and then work on the 4th Century BC and then YOU came along and deleted them ALL. Brushing The Dust Off
How's everything been going LG,
After I don't know how many years away from this site, I've suddenly been drawn back in for some reason. It's good to see there's still some sort of interest in 1983:DD and I'm hoping to help contribute regularly again that I've had time off to focus on other parts of life.
Anyways, since you seem to be one of the few of the old guard still working on the TL I was wondering what direction you could point me in in regards to getting the project into better shape again; I've noticed that there's articles that have been up on the proposal list for 5+ years by now, as well as newer contributors that are running into a few roadblocks getting their first couple of articles posted.
Oh and what other established contributors are still around? I have a lot of questions regarding additions I'm planning on making regarding my articles and those of others but don't know who's around to consult with regarding their articles. Arstar (talk) 04:59, August 23, 2015 (UTC)
Regarding the US, I made small changes here and there prior to that (mainly harmonizing the page with canon reflected on other articles or regarding Colorado) but I understand not the consulting. It's seemed for a while that there wasn't any one caretaker for that article,
Regarding the USAR, however, the canon indicated prior to that (written around 2012 I believe? Around the same time as Oregon rejoined) was pointing in the future annexation as a State (I also found it absurd looking back), so I decided to tone it down regarding that, which is why I stressed that this "union" would not interfere with the two seperate economies of the US and USAR. I tried to keep it sweet and simple, maybe should've put more into the simple part.
Maybe the citizenship would be too much of stretch, but the part about sharing military resources seems workable. The whole point certain personnel defied the Gathering Order was that they do not recognize the ANZC as the US's successor, but they have accepted the new US's claim to an extent. Given the US's abundant breadbasket regions and the Remnant's economic resources as well as naval materiel a mutually beneficial trade of these resources wouldn't be out of this world entirely.
What would your interpretation mean by less control? Just to get a second opinion to work with. I'd like to get this up in writing sooner rather than later, its been a few years coming.
Got caught up on what articles have since been taken by other contributors...Wisconsin wasn't one of them though. Working on fleshing that one out and adding recent events. Mostly the German and African pages I edited, the CA too I guess.
I've been working with Dae on getting the changes done. If there's a few sore spots that I've pointed out but based on the progress he's made from earlier revisions I'd say its more or less ready, imho. Arstar talk 05:30, August 24, 2015 (UTC)
Since apparently it's fallen into your hands what do you think about International Falls joining the UC?
Also I've planned on adding California to the NAU, I know Fx has expressed his desire to have the SNU join as well before he became inactive, seems about right they would both be members by this time given their adjacency to other member states no?
Arstar talk 04:12, August 25, 2015 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, been travelling alot and VPN/Internet access where I'm living right now has been a bit wonky.
Gonna write the USAR bit on the PUSA page if thats fine with you, and you think I can add info on there to the future regarding the AR and CO? The relationship will be pretty much everything you described, maybe a bit more emphasis on USAR assistane in backing joint PUSA/USAR naval bases in both the mainland and the islands. Unification was a bit of a misty-eyed dream but that seems completely doable. Some boats at a dock with a few concerete barracks and a wall, nothing fancy, lol.
Who would I see about, uh, re-adopting Wisconsin? Fine with the other articles going to other people but this one hasn't really been worked on and I've had a few ideas come to me on it. Nobody commented on my talkpage to adopt it.
You think you can help me out and point out all the problems with Susq when you get a chance? I'll do the second half of the job and make the actual changes as I promised to help Daes out. Maybe we can just mark a good chunk of the nit-picky associated articles obsolete and take their plausible bits and put them on to the nation page.
On the CR/SNU bit, I feel like a bit of the nasty relations written into canon stemmed more from the dispute between FX and I rather than how it would've gone down realistically. From a realpolitik perspective I think the Californians would see the light that running a post-apocalyptic survivor state doesn't require following county lines to the bone and if anything joining the NAU would make it easier to travel and do business with these areas, so I think they could bury the hatchet on this matter relatively easily. Californian ascension would imo be mutually beneficial for most parties involved as it would bring additional resources (gold, gas, minerals, etc.) into the economy as well as an additional sea port.

Firstly, what wiki rules did I violate when I created this map game? I never intended to be rude or break the rules. I just thought a map game based on this timeline would be fun.
No hard feelings?
Secondly, am I allowed to create a similar map game with the same theme, but just under a different name. The original one I did had several joining, so it appears a map game like that would be popular and a good idea for the wiki.

Re:Things
Glad to hear it. I'm currently working on low-level issues which needed to be cleaned-up, but I do have a couple of ideas I'd love to get your thoughts on. But I'll hold off on those for now, allow you to get settled in and all.
Regardless, thank you again and I wish you the best of luck. -- NuclearVacuum 03:13, October 3, 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you. I do have a seemingly simple idea which should be quick to answer (though I'm a noob on this particular topic).
- I was pondering whether or not Salvador Allende (President of Chile) might have an earlier and "successful" (if not peaceful) presidency. The only reasoning I have for this is that Alaskans would also elect a Socialist (former Marxist) for president around the same time.
- Other than that, I have nothing to back this idea up aside from it being interesting. Maybe the government of Alaska during this time inspires Allende to adopt similar policies, which in turn leaves Chile in a "better" place (by better, I mean not bad enough to warrant a coup). Maybe with a "Marxist" being democratically elected, who made his nation neutral during the Cold War, and who willingly gave up power when his term was done would've been enough president that the United States doesn't act against Chile (so, once again, no coup).
- As for the earlier aspect to this idea, while he was elected in 1970, he ran and won second place in the previous election (supposedly the US funded his opponent, but I don't wish to stick completely with this). This early election (1964) would've only been a few years following the election of my Alaskan Socialist, so my though was this reverberates to Chileans who vote more for their Socialist. I'd also suspect that (once again) the president of a peaceful Socialist neighbor would've made the US less hesitant to allow such a government in Chile.
- Like I said, this was just a random idea I thought of one day (was thinking of Katholico for some reason). I completely understand if nothing I said makes any sense (I barely understand it right now). It should also be noted that I (once again) scrapped my Peru-Bolivia idea within this timeline, mostly because I don't see Russia playing any major role in South America during this time to result in such a change (so if that helps anything).
- I do hope I didn't go overboard in this description. I look forward to your reply (please take your time if need be). -- NuclearVacuum

Thank you so much for your quick reply (was expecting to hear back from you in a few days XP).
I should clarify myself (I think I've mixed-up Allende with my Alaskan president). Though my presidential candidate was a communist (and would've been so ATL), he'd be nowhere near the Marxist-Leninist policies of the USSR. From what I've read about him so far, I'd classify him as being more of a social democrat with policies no different from other center-left and left-wing politicians (e.g., MLK and Mandela).
I hope you don't mind me asking for some clarification on your part (not 100% sure what you mean). Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are suggesting that:
- Allende is still elected (same circumstances as OTL) and would be able to complete his term as president. The USA/CIS would still plot against him, but nothing becomes of it (so long as the status quo remains in Chile [i.e., no USSR, yes democracy]).
Did I understand you correctly? -- NuclearVacuum 02:05, October 11, 2015 (UTC)

Alexander Land Question
I'm just about ready to canonize the Alexander Land idea in Russian America (not sure if you remember it or not). But before I do, I decided to do some more reading and came across something of interest that I'd love to get a second opinion on.
It involves the South Sandwich Islands (not the South Georgia Island). I came across the fact that Bellingshausen is credited for discovering roughly half of the archipelago (in particular the Traversay Islands and Bellingshausen Island).
My question is whether or not the Russian Empire (around the same time they claimed Alexander Land) would've also claimed these islands (if not the entire South Sandwich Islands). The United Kingdom didn't make a claim to these particular islands until 1908, which was the same year they made their Antarctic claims. Based on this, I believe there's reasonable doubt that a Russian claim to the SSI would be just as valid as Britain's.
That being said, I don't believe the idea can go any further than this. The best case scenario I have is that Alaska and Russia (which both claim the same area) would establish a base or two on the islands to legitimize their claim, but that'd be it. All-in-all, these claims would be simply that (nothing more than a trivia question and something to add to a map).
I do have a follow up to this scenario, but only if it's workable (if not, than no point in overwriting). I look forward to your reply. -- NuclearVacuum 03:21, October 28, 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry to tack onto this message, but I have another idea I would love to get your input on (before I get too attached to it).
- Though not canon yet, I'm already in the process of canonizing Korea's independence from Japan in RA (some point around the '80s). I'd still suspect Japanese people would make up a considerably percentage of the population by then (more decades of colonization after all).
- The scenario that just popped in my head is whether or not one of these areas in Korea were to develop a Japanese majority. If so, this leaves open the possibility that (either them or Japan itself) pulls a "Northern Ireland" on Korea. By that I mean Japan keeps this exclave for themselves, while letting the rest of Korea leave.
- I was unable to find any information to back this up (such as demographics during Japanese rule), so I would like a second opinion. If such an exclave were to exist, I'd suspect it'd be around Busan (the closet part of the peninsula to Japan). At the largest possible extent, I could see it possibly including the whole of the Gyeongsang area (divided into two provinces). I say that because this area roughly corresponds (more or less) to the Pusan Perimeter. Though in all likelihood, this may be too big. But let me see what you think before I get too obsessed with borders. -- NuclearVacuum
05:03, November 7, 2015 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again, but I've thought of another scenario which I would love to get your opinion on. With Japan being an Ally and thereby not occupying Indonesia, could there exist the possibility that the Dutch would be able to hold onto some (if not all) of their colony? I'd believe the USA would support this as a way to curb Japanese influence in the area and that Indonesia would be divided into several Dutch dominions. Java and Sumatra can become independent if they wish. How does this sound to you?
I also hope you are alright, as it has been months since I've received a response from you. -- NuclearVacuum 01:36, January 12, 2016 (UTC)

Concerning my Siege of Chattanooga Article
Hello LG,
You've twice far labelled this article of mine as ASB biased, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. As I noted on the talk page, every PoD I used has a link to verify it. This one notes the poor relations between Bragg and Longstreet (And the effects of that) by the time of Brown's Ferry/Wauhatchie, and both it as well as the Civil War Trust outline how dire the supply situation was in Chattanooga by the time of the aforementioned battle(s) occurred. As this book notes , the nearby Confederate reinforcements are indeed factual and it was due to poor communication they weren't ultilized.
With my case established by these links (Especially those of CWT, which is argubably the premier ACW research group), I do believe you can accept my presentation of events is indeed logical as well as plausible. If not, then please outline to me why in detail at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for your time,
God Bless the United States of America (talk) 03:43, November 20, 2015 (UTC)
Alright, care to explain why you again marked it ASB biased even though I've provided three different sources of documentation, including some from the premier group of Civil War experts? If you have the time to search for it and place those tags, then I would at least like to request you outline why you are doing these actions.
God Bless the United States of America (talk) 08:00, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
It's been another five days, I've revised the article twice since then to resolve any possible ASB claims you could make against it and I still have the sources to back it up. Yet, you still continue to mark it ASB. Please explain why?

Scotland says "Yes" ASB?
Hello. I was wondering why you categorized SSY as ASB Misc. All the events in it are perfectly plausibibe. It is plausiblle that the 'Yes' campaign could have been more succesful, leading to a Labour majority in the UK, it is plausible that this would have quickened the already-existing Catalan independence movement, and caused a small conflict due to the current government's leadership. It is again plausible that a Russo-Scots support Kurdistan could rise. Maybe Quebec is a little ASB at the moment, but that's going to be fleshed out a bit and made more plausible. I really do believe, overall, this TL is perfectly plausible. However, if there any things I could change it to make it more plausible, please do say.
Many thanks, Bryce3 (talk) 18:23, January 15, 2016 (UTC)

Re: !!!!
I haven't been doing well in reality for a few weeks. Friends acting more distant and cold, people being outright cruel and abusive to me, it's really intensified the way I've been acting (ie more erratic, sad, etc.). It's been really hard for me to put up with, not to mention some of the drama I have to put up with on chat alone. As a result of my erratic state-of-mind, I took the delay of Stirling awards as a personal attack (in which I do apologize for, it wasn't right for me to think that) due to how people have been treating me outside of the wiki. I do suffer from seasonal affective disorder; essentially meaning my depression is much stronger during winter, and January/February are typically the months that are the worst on me.
I do appreciate your support, LG. Thank you very much.

deleting redirects
Thanks for removing the re-directs, but now the pages that were redirected to seem to be gone? So I have to re-create them again. Not sure how that happened when you did that.
SunEagle (talk) 13:24, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
So I'll re-build. Won't take TOO long. Thing is: I didn't do the re-directs. Another Wiki user such as yourself (Admins, I guess?) did so. I don't know how to do them. When they were done, I asked whoever it was that had done them (I forget) why, but never got an answer. (on a side note: I really wish WIki had a chat function. This editing the talk page thing is a pain in the butt)
SunEagle (talk) 13:58, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
Moves? Hrm. I don't know how to do that either. All I know how to do (under edit) is rename a page. Is that what's happening? I'm changing the names from <whatever>(C4E) to <whatever>(Columbus Sails for England). But that can't be the issue, cuz otherwise EVERY page would be a problem. And they don't. RIght? Please? I hope?
SunEagle (talk) 14:15, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
Well.... crap. Cuz I did a LOT of renames. TONS. I'll have to re-do my page structure, I guess, to avoid that? Not sure. Thanks LD. You're helpful. You actually answer my questions and provide useable information. Unlike the other admin folks who just make changes and never answer when I ask why.
SunEagle (talk) 14:48, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
Can you lay out for me (in detail... or as much detail as possible) what exactly you're doing, so that I can do it myself. Not to mention what I should NOT be doing, so I can avoid it in the future. Cuz... all those links going blank make me sad, since I know the content is out there somewhere.
SunEagle (talk) 17:53, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
"Change them front the shorthand, to the full timeline name"
Urf. When I originally tried that (I forget who suggested it), it did basically what's happening now, and I have to re-create the page, cuz what I'd created is, apparently either gone, or un-recoverable (is that right?)
SunEagle (talk) 18:01, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
"You changed the article names, but not where your links went. Looking at your pages, pretty much all of your links go to the short version, but not the timeline name. It's also why you keep making them with the wrong names, lol"
An explanation! OK, so changing the names is only part of what I need to do then. I need to change the name AND the link (swap C4E for Columbus_Sails_for_England I guess?). You know you're my new best friend right? *grin* And even before I start doing the rest of the pages, I should change the links. Cuz then I won't NEED to change the names, and that will solve this whole mess.

RecentChanges
Hey Lordganon,
Our engineers recently noticed that there are a lot of requests coming from your accounts for RecentChanges on this wiki, showing up to 9,000 entries. Having this many requests for that much information is actually causing a major performance issue which is slowing down your wiki considerably. Our engineers had to, as part of an emergency effort, turn the RecentChanges page to display only the last two weeks of edits to keep the site running at expected speed.
May I ask what you are trying to do by querying that page so much. Is there a tool or some other way we can help you find what you need without hitting RecentChanges so hard? I am going to have to ask you to stop doing this query and I'm not going to be able to increase the RecentChanges limit back to normal without seeing a change. --DaNASCAT (help forum | blog) 14:08, March 31, 2016 (UTC)

Ganon, I just noticed your removal of two categories from Ice Age (The British Ain't Coming). What are the guidelines for adding categories? It seems that "Ice Age" has no standing as a "category" simply because no one has ever made it as one. I see that most of the articles with the "Europe" categories have that title in their timeline, so I can see why that category tag might not be appropriate for an article simply explaining something that happened in Europe.

1983 Doomesday timeline (New London / and the Chilterns.)
In the notes for the UK, on this timeline it indicates that Slough is hit by a 100kt device.
However, it's indicated elsewhere the Windsor Castle survives.. I'm not sure this is feasible looking at the results produced by the NukeMap simulation tool ,
A 40Kt device is the largest anything hitting Slough can be before Windsor is more drastically affected, and the existing Canon states that Windsor survived.
The "New London" proposal says that Windsor is able to regain communication with High Wycombe, which I find highly implausible. given the strategic importance of sites near Walters Ash and Daws hill.
This Depends precisely on how big any ATL strike is, and Soviet foreknowledge of the relevant bunkers location.
(These are my initial notes, concerning the immediate "Day After" is in respect of the Chiltern area..)
The existence of any long-term survivor communities to the East of High Wycombe is slim, given the wind directions. There have been tactical detonations in the vicinity of Halton, Chalfont St Peter, and Sarrat (off target.)
Matters are complicated by the timing, those (outside the blast range) that are woken by them will recall a distant thunder, or earth tremor, (even though the warning is actively given, I'm not sure how quickly the siren system would respond (or how fast Walter Ash ceases to be viable), and the decaying flash on the Horizon.
The first people to really notice something is very very wrong are likely to be the local farming community, at around 6:00 am when they fail to find Radio 4 (or any other recognisable station, other than UK WBS!), As dawn comes up there are a number of rising smoke plumes. 6:30am is when more people find the same.
Later that morning, radiation alarms (assuming they have power) start to sound continuously at the "Amersham" site in Little Chalfont. ... ( Your hints on how to develop this further appreciated) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 21:49, July 17, 2016 (UTC)

Duke Joseph Ferdinand of Bavaria
Me having asked most people on here and them not having any idea of what would happen I am turning to you because of you being a history major specializing in history of this time period. So basically I was wondering what would be the effect of Duke Joesph Ferdinand of Bavaria surviving and not being "poisoned". Here are some effects that I have thought of. A. No Spanish War of Succession or B. Austria gets murdered in the War of Spanish Succession The effects that I have determined of A are:
- Savoy never gets elevated to Kingly Status thus leading to a different Italy.
- Genoa is never occupied keeping it on its path of being Spain's fiancee.
- Spain would keep Gibraltar.
- Maybe a earlier unified Italy under the Bourbons?
- During the war of Austrian Sucession Bavaria would be able to maintain control of Bohemia and perhaps be able to capture more land.
- More French North America.
I know you are busy but if you could at least explain your opinion of those effects and maybe think of some other effects that would be great. Prince Octavian , of Jerusalem, Sicily, and Swabia, and Duke of Amalfi.
Sorry to bother you but if I could get atleast a one sentance reposne that would be great. Prince Octavian , of Jerusalem, Sicily, and Swabia, and Duke of Amalfi.

Hey LG
I've noticed that you're not on much these days, but I can't say much about that myself! I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing and touch base on a few things.
Frankly, I'm not sure how to reach out 'cause I don't know you and to be completely honest we didn't exactly get off on the right foot. We don't tend to see eye-to-eye, so this is a bit awkward. But if there's anything you need, just send me a message on my talk page or through chat.
Now for some housekeeping. I'm not saying that you need to do this, but if someone from TSPTF could delete my old forum threads that would be great. Any thing I've marked as to be deleted, if this hasn't been done already, ditto. It would be much appreciated. Might do some good to delete that conference thing from DD I proposed, too.
I've been adding to Hubei for DD, and I've got some questions and concerns about it and the timeline on the talk page. I should warn you that I was frustrated when I typed it, not at you per se but at the fact that I'm having such difficult y finding the information I need for the article. I don't mean to personally attack you or anything, if that's how you might take it.
Instead of being so absorbed with fitting my ideas within one timeline I'm going to be doing ten, eventually. I'm also not worrying so much about making thing perfect and ASB free. Which means I won't be asking you for guidance as often, or as maniacally. So there's a plus.
I'm going to be more active, but since my year off from school is ending soon I can't promise that Hubei will be finished and up to date soon. Or working on timelines really.
I do have access to great sources thank to uni, but I need to find a good program for visuals and infographics. It's the artsy side of it that frustrates me the most-i hate paint. My althistory writers block will largely be remedied when I find a good program. All things considered.
If I've insulted or offended you in the past, or alienated you, or any way been hurtful or tactless I apologize. And if I'm largely internalizing crap, I'm sorry for that to.just thins I need to work on!
So I hope everything's going well, and no hard feelings or anything if the sort. Feel free to message if you need anything.
Thanks! Canuck2012 (talk) 00:20, February 7, 2017 (UTC)Canuck2012

Owen??
Hey LG, I know it has been a while. Just hoping things are all right, because I think this is the first time I remember that I haven't seen your presence on the wiki as constant. Just hoping things are all g.
My main message is I feel Owen may be back (i.e the guy who just left a message above this one). As you have experience dealing with Owen, can you confirm if his style is the same as what Owen's was, because there seems to be a striking resemblance. The User is called HOOVER something and according to scraw has also shown an unhealthy interest in Doomsday.

Hello I was wondering if you have a higher resolution version of the 1983 Doomsday world map I am asking you this because the image is not large enough to see any of the smaller countries. Thank youTv98 (talk) 15:54, April 7, 2020 (UTC)
Flag of Ersekë
Hi there
By curiosity, I wanted to ask you a question: what happened to the flag of Ersekë? I just wandered why it was deleted and what it looked like. Simply curious as it must have looked cool given the color scheme.

Hello, sorry to bother you, but I am a huge fan of the 1983: Doomsday timeline, and I wanted to ask, if you don't mind telling me, how did you create the world map for your timeline? It looks really cool and I was wondering if I could do one for my project, the Second American Civil War.
