Go for it. Victoria has expanded quite a bit since I wrote that so there should be quite a few new teams and probably an entire league reorganization. Can't really have an island and a mainland division when the mainland will have like twice the teams.Oerwinde 07:07, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
OK, I just made some edits to the GC page, but tagged them with the Template:Ddprop tag (Benkarnell suggested I do that). Most of the pre-DD history is about Guyana so far because it sets up the situation for the major polticial tension that occured on and after DD, but I do intend to add a lot more Surinamese info soon as well.
Just added to the GC Talk page. Odysseus56

Recent revert on India
Hi, LG. I want to say first that I have noticed you are a bit nicer lately. But, then, the way you were treating Imperium Guy when he was still anonymous reminds me of the 'old you' that many among the community was complaining about. Seriously! The guy identified himself as Indian, and made some valid points (missing some, which you naturally latched upon), and you treated him like dirt. However, in that same string you 'turn nice' in recent posts! I'm glad to see the 'new you' emerging.
That being said, I see a problem with your removing a synopsis paragraph about the UIP simply because a link was provided. Unless the paragraph was in error, there is no need to remove it. I am not sure it can be called a "Successor State" (more like a continuing government, in my opinion), but if it is to be included as such, the general article should not be totally silent (sending the reader elsewhere) of its relationship to the others. Would the remarks about the other states be reduced to links if articles were provided? It is possible, but to me that would reduce the value of the gateway article.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a good day. SouthWriter 14:36, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for responding, though it was on my talk page, causing me to have to tax my short term memory to answer you here. :-) Anyway, I realize that the UIP synopsis was not necessary, but it was not necessary to remove the lines either. The fact that the section keeps mention of the UIP means that a few words there are not out of place. This is a case of "form over function" and somewhat of an insult to a new editor that is only trying to contribute. I think that the short paragraph should be reinstated as long as it does not assert non-canonical material. But that is just my opinion, for it seems that you are the present caretaker of the article. Just my thoughts. Again, have a good day. SouthWriter 17:01, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
I wonder if there is a way to restrict editing to registered usersOerwinde 06:01, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
Either way I think its a good idea. World War II Ideas
Other than the Gallic Rome timeline (which I have not abandoned), I have some new ideas for timelines.
Poland Victorious- Due to various factors the Poles manage to defeat the German Blitzkrieg. Unbelieveable, but possible. Here's a summary of the timeline. Here are the main POD's for this timeline.
- Polish Secret Weapon- The Poles manage to invent a bazooka-type anti-tank weapon a few years early, and manage to deploy it widely (but secretly) by '39.
- Better Polish fighter jets- A brilliant Polish aircraft designer doesn't die in a plane crash. Thus Poland manages to design and build considerable amounts of a fighter jet in the same class as the ME109.
- Less Effective German Coding Devices- Through some burecratic error the Germans fail to reequip themselves with a new version of its coding machines.
- Surprising Intel Source- The Poles were allies with Japan for anti-Soviet reasons, which is why the Japanese allied with Germany later. The Japanese were fighting a border war with the Soviets, and saw the German pact with the SOviets to be a stab in the back. They end up leaking information on German movements to the Poles.
These factors allow the Poles to survive 1939. And since Hitler only survived the many assasination attempts through sheer luck. The chances of these coincidences happening in any other timeline are slim. Hitler is assasinated sometime in 1940 (perhaps the Ides of March?), and the new government manages to gain a ceasefire. The Soviets attack the Poles, and the war shifts into a war against communism. Butterflies include the Soviets getting paritioned, Nationalist China possibly surviving, and Mussolini's fascists staying in power in Italy. This may seem absurd until you read the page in the link. The author makes it plausible. What do you think? The idea behind the timeline
Yank 04:34, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
Then let's have a short (but bloody) Civil War take place in Germany. We would have an Anti-War faction (lead by either Hess or Speer) win, and sign a cease fire. What other implausibilities do you see in the scenario? We have the opportunity to iron out the bugs set out by the author, as the original article is pretty much just a thought experiment on how to plausibly have the Poles defeat the Germans.

Imperialist States of America
Good poit, can you help me a bit please, Im not the greatest when it comes to personal timelines, and I could realy use your help.
Thanks, DeanSims 15:15, August 11, 2011 (UTC)
You are mistaken. With their best soldiers fighting in East Asia (especially because of the Second Russo-Japanese War happening ATL), and much of their military leadership executed in the purges, the Soviet Army of '39 wasn't very formidable. They had large numbers of soldiers and equipment, but theirs was mostly a amateur army. Their officers were either inexperienced or afraid of taking any kind of initiative. The Western allies reluctance to take direct action was one of the factors that caused Poland to fall to Hitler and Stalin. Believe it or not, but the Polish DID have a tacit alliance with the Japanese (again for Anti-Soviet reasons), and they could have given the Poles intel on German movements. How much this affects the conflict remains to be seen. Shaped charges and short-range rockets had been around since WWI. All it would have took was a Polish inventor to realize that shaped charges would be useful against armor.
Yank 16:45, August 11, 2011 (UTC)
Then let's focus on making Gallic Rome a reality. Can I depend on you helping me create the basic pages needed for the timeline?

I put the paramilitary tag on purpose, the klavaliers are not soldiers. --Marcpasquin 18:06, August 13, 2011 (UTC)
- Still, they are not military, they just happen to wear uniforms. Please don't revert my categorising again.--Marcpasquin 21:01, August 13, 2011 (UTC)
- Mate, this is getting annoying. They are not part of the military. Just wearing a uniform doesn't make you part of it. I can't block you from editing the page but at least show enough respect not to revert it.--Marcpasquin 15:41, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
- By your logic, anyone wearing a uniform that look military would be part of that category including policemen and salvos. the point of having categories is to make it easier to find related items, putting all together defeat the purpose. Marcpasquin 22:05, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
- I tried to be reasonable but when someone explain why something is wrong and you still insist on changing that persons page, thats just rude. Marcpasquin 22:45, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
- I know I can't block you, I said so above. I thought that might get your bloody attention because seriously you're having trouble behaving mate.
- I changed it because you used the WRONG category. The Klavaliers are NOT military, they're just civilians in uniforms which as I explain above would, by your logic, include a hell of a lot of people who are not, also, militarymen.
- I don't understand what is so hard for you to comprehend about the situation and why you insist on putting the WRONG category after I explained why it was so. Marcpasquin 01:13, August 15, 2011 (UTC)
- By all mean, go to the group. Marcpasquin 02:03, August 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Well this isn't doing well and maybe the approach wasn't the right one so, while the meds are still acting, to solve the problem, how's this: Lets put it to a vote. I'll set up a page on the forum, I'll put up my "con" view, you can put your "pro" one and we'll give the community a week to chose. I promise I'll accept the decision if you promise the same. Marcpasquin 22:46, August 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Community based decision making is a great way to go about solving a problem unless you believe that admins are some sort of elite.
- So, beside me simply giving up, what do you propose be done to find an agreable decision ? Marcpasquin 05:20, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

World War II Timeline Ideas
I have a few ideas for a couple of WWII alternate histories. Let me know what you think of them.
- Allied Japan- Japan is a member of the Allies, not the Axis. What if the American's signed an alliance with Japan shortly after the country was opened?
- Vichy France Survives- The fascist regime manages to survive World War II. The regime stays neutral during WWII, like the Nationalists in Spain.
- Yank 19:21, August 22, 2011 (UTC)
Hey I understand. The Vichy France one was just an idea I was struck with. I have to admit I love the idea of a Rome-Berlin-Moscow Axis instead of a Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis. One of the butterflies I can see is a different situation in East Asia.
- Russian Far East- The Soviets would definitely lose Vladivostok if Japan attacked them. And that was one of the few things of tactical value in that portion of the country. The Japanese would still posess the island of Karafuto (also known as Sakhalin in Russian) and the Kuriles.
- Manchuria- The Japanese puppet state of Manchuria still survives to this day. Undoubtably they would have grown enough in the years between WWII and the present day to gain status as a legitimate country rather than a puppet state. The Chinese might focus their attention into re-absorbing other former parts of the country such as Mongolia and Sinkiang. Tibet may stay independant.
- China- As the Soviets are an enemy combatant in this timeline the Chinese Communists would also be considered enemies. This means that the Chinese would have allied support in stamping out Mao's followers. It would be quite ironic if they ended up in Taiwan like how the Nationalists did OTL.

God Bless the United States of America 21:33, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
Strange, if I am not mistaken saying that I deserve to rot in Hell because I am a Conservative is an attack on my beliefs.Trash? So defending honest Americans from downright vulgar, and stupid comments means that what I said is trash? LG, Yank said I deserved to burn in Hell, I said nothing of the sort.I confronted him with facts, and yet you blame his trolling on me.An AH website is not the place to vent your Politics.
Just because Mitro didn't do anything, doesn't mean you shouldn't.If everbody followed that logic, we would all be dead. You should have the intgerity to stand up for what is right, and say "This isn't right.".I have faith in you, and I hope that faith can be confirmed.
Lastly, what page are you talking about?
God Bless the United States of America 21:58, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
My User page? What the heck are you talking about?
Oh, so it's alright if he says it in general.LG, that is laughable. If I said all Liberals should rot in Hell, I would have been banned.Yet, Yank "Was just a bit angered"?This is a double standard in favor of an older editor. My facts were fake? Look them up, you can confirm them anywhere!
1. The Libyan Mission is Unconstitutional.Under the War Powers Act of 1973, the President has 60 days to get Congressional approval for a Military operation. The 60 days past in May.That my friend, is a violation of the Law.Obama shoud be impeached for breaking the law, just like any other American.
2.Under the Obama adminstration, the US National Debt has gone from 11 Trillion, to nearly 15 Trillion. It is expected to reach 16 before he is voted out of office.
I said another one, but I can't recall it.
If I said a "Unasked political opinion" like Yank, I would have been banned. This is a freakin Alternate History site, not Media Matters, or Fox News.
In other words, an insult that is two years old is not an insult? I have enough intergity to challenge a troll, and I would expect the admins to do the same.

- Wow, those guys forgot all about that NC/NC thing, didn't they? It looks like Yank made those remarks right after I joined the group. I had forgotten he was so young back then - about the age of GB right now, in fact. I wonder how anyone that young can have such hard and fast opinions. You'd think they'd be enjoying life instead of worrying about politics. They are parroting adults, for sure, but for goodness sake, how can they be so passionately vitriolic in their statements.
- For the record, I think GB was within his rights to be offended and even say so. He probably came upon the timeline by chance and found the concept rather shocking. I found the talk about the "blue states" separating a bit amusing myself. The 'letter to the Red States" was quite revealing, though it had a lot of statistics that needed to be checked. GB's letter to the Blue States was politically motivated, for sure, but it was actually better written than the rambling list of statistics than the first 'letter.'
- Yank's rant in return, attacking Bush like he was still in office and Yank was a political commentator, was so much more political. You did well to take down the exchange. I would have done the same if I had seen it first. I had realized that Yank was liberal, but I did not know he was THAT Liberal. I missed most of his rants in the early days, and he has definitely mellowed since that rant to which GB responded. We certainly don't need that kind of stuff on the wikia if we can help it. Lordganon, what is the absolute latest time that the Euros could've discovered America. The main reason that I said 1912 is because I personally found it funny that I could have the Titanic discover America. The Chinese and Ivans I have little concern over becuase I was thinking that the Spaniards could've integrated with the Aztecs and all them to create a very strong fighting force with European tactics. I was also wishing to explore how the two whould've been different if they had almost 400 years more to develop independently and how the Spanish whould influence the natives over 400 years by themselves. A medium sized request.
What do you think of my timeline in L'Uniona Homanus especially among the Native Americans and the Asians, these links go to the latest not the first page of their respective timelines. Where are some places you think I can go. I don't know if you think of yourself as a particularly creative person but if you had some ideas I'd love the fuel to jumpstart me back into creating the timelines. Thanks.Hidan43vr 22:46, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I've been trying to progress the Asian timeline the most because they're behind many of the others in time so that I can put a world map for a single part of time. I recently started school again and I definitely plan to make a larger explosion in the North American tribes, thats actually what we're learning about. However, I may not be able to update as fast so any new Timeline pages may come slower. This gives me plenty of ideas and I can't wait for you guys to see it. :) Hidan43vr 10:20, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
One of the ideas I've had for a while is of an restoration of the Russian monarchy following the Soviet Union's collapse in 1991. The potential POD is one of the Romanovs escaping while they had a chance. I'm intrigued by the idea of it be Anastasia, as she seems to be the only one of the family who could have survived to 1991. She was young enough to potentially be able to live long enough, and she was healthy enough to do so as she didn't have hemophilia like her brother. Another potential way for the Romanovs to survive is if they had an external territory to flee to. The POD of that timeline is that the Alaska Purchase falls through, and the Romanovs flee to Alaska to establish the Empire of Alaska.
Yank 04:52, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
Alien Space Bats?
I would like an explanation on why you keep changing the Cold War on my Stubborn Stalin page to Alien Space Bats.
- LG, I have read the whole time line. There is absolutely NO "Alien Space Bat" character to the 'Stubborn Stalin' time line. You may disagree with YZ's interpertation of history, but that does not warrent the ASB 'treatment.' Stalin did not have any visions or any visitors from outer space. He just decided that he wanted to keep Berlin. It was far into "his" half of Germany, and so it was his to keep. He stated later in life that dividing the ciy was a mistake. Again, no outside influence is even hinted at.
- The use of the "ASB" category as a statement of disagreement is a form of harassment. It is an insult to the editor of the site and needs a very good explanation. I am going to remove the "Alien Space Bats" category, and if it appears again without a good explanation on the talk page, I will have to consider disciplinary actions with the other administrators. Wallachia (1983: Doomsday)
I just got an idea for a nation in the 1983: Doomsday timeline. It's a ressurrection of the old Principality of Wallachia. The way I see it, not all Romanians are going to be flocking towards Transylvania. There's bound to be at least some people opposed to them. I just don't know wether to make it an enclave of the pre-Doomsday Communist government or a direct restoration of the old Principality (through a false heir). I'm placing it in Dâmbovița County, Romania which I think avoids the strikes to the east quite nicely. I'm also thinking of including parts of the other nearby counties (besides the totally destroyed capital district). What do you think of that idea?
Yank 02:15, September 13, 2011 (UTC)
I'll need some help writing some parts of the article. I can't really figure out how to word the government section, and I don't know what the economy of the region I've claimed for Wallachia is.
Yank 04:30, September 13, 2011 (UTC)
What? Then why does the map still show "Romanian claims"? It doesn't make any sense!
Yank 04:37, September 13, 2011 (UTC)
The article gives no indication the the Transylvanians control anything beyond the dark green on the map. The map shows a bunch of uncontrolled but "claimed" territory, the OTL equivilent is only the vague "Western Romania" and the History section gives no indication of a massive campaign of expansion. It looks like they could encounter a state like Wallachia.

The nearby blasts were Dinghai and Shanghai. Hangzhou and Ningbo were untouched by bombs but Ningbo received radiation. However most of the radition was blown away by Typhoon Forrest which was near the area at the time and the typhoon would have blown the radiation north allowing the citizens to escape radiation posioning. I'm starting it this weekend... Also the people of Ningbo migrated slowly west and north due to the ligering effects of the blast in Dinghai so no presence was left on the coast. This is to connect with the story from the USS Benjamin Franklin. Scandinator 08:34, September 15, 2011 (UTC)

I need your help
I feel like I am beginning to get harassed by 18.104.22.168. He just made a suggestion to me which said "Can you please delete the Neutral Bloc page and except this idea?". He is suggesting too many things, all of which are not right for this timeline. What should I do? I don't want to block him, at least not without another opinion. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 23:14, September 15, 2011 (UTC)
- I just left him a message, explaining to him the editorial guidelines and to refrain from harassing me. Let's see what his next move is. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 23:21, September 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for telling that guy off (I really appreciate it). I have protected the talk page for a week, so hopefully it will stop. If it comes to him vandalizing other pages or going ahead and writing articles about his ASB ideas, than I will block him.
Hey, I'm sure that you're busy and all but I was just wondering what that really big badge on your page is. Also, about my timeline, is there any advice which you can give about brainstorming and finding ideas that feel original and not just repetition of the same dynamics. I know history repeats itself but what are the ways in which I can make the narratives of the timeline more engaging and original. Sorry if its a tough question. U2 Over Siberia
During the Cold War, a U2 did actually fly over Soviet airspace, and nuclear armed fighters were sent to defend it. I respectfully ask you to please check your facts before you critize people's work. Here's a site or two to prove it.
Permission to Edit
I don't quite follow since I am new to the place. I saw the guidelines you supplied and I didn't quite see anything relating to your editions to pages without the necessary permission and the appropriate method of editing. Can you clarify then how permission is required for such a task since I was under the impression that being able to freely edit pages in Wikia was sort of a given.
Do I need to seek permission from the creator of those particular pages?

Adopt an timeline
Hi LG! I hope you don't mind... i have an doubt. jeje I'm considering adopt the timeline Mexican Empire and according the official policy i should ask to the creator or caretaker of this, but i noticed that that last time that this person (User:Ggw) wrote on the wikia was in July 2009. Despite this fact, i should write to this person and only once that i recieve (or not) the answer i would proceed to adopt? Regards! --Katholico 02:21, September 20, 2011 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind me asking so many questions.
1) What if Jesus Christ during his sermons was much more adament about not harming other people to the point of commanding pacifism?
2) What if the Catholics and the Orthodox were able to find a peaceful end to their differences and didn't split?
3) What if St.Peter had died be for 'becoming' the first Pope?
4) What if Maryland's, Sir Baltimore, had only allowed Catholics to come with him to Maryland and only allowed Catholics to settle Maryland?
5) What if Atilla the Hun and Gehngis Khan were never born?

Natives in Kerguelen Plateau
Hey, LG, I'm currently in the works to create a timeline where increased volcanic activity Kerguelen plateau from sinking and even raised submerged islands near it, and I have a question to ask you.
The Kerguelen islands never had native inhabitants, but with these extra islands between Africa and the Plateau, is it possible that some African natives could have migrated to the Plateau? ChrisL123 21:11, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, just one quick question, and I'm not sure if you'll be able to answer, and if not that's fine. Now, in the timeline, Cook will stay in the Kerguelens to colonize as much area as he can and maybe even be a governor-general to the colony. This will mean that he would be too preoccupied with the Kerguelens to discover Hawaii. If he doesn't discover Hawaii, do you have a theory as to who will? ChrisL123 03:07, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

Do you think L'Uniona Homanus could ever be a Featured Timeline here? Do you think I could ever be an administrator? Hidan43vr 23:30, September 25, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. Well what I want to do is get the Old World and New World to meet somehow, sometime before I start making maps showing the state of the whole world. The latest articles in each timeline are disconnected because some started later or earlier than others. But once all these different groups are at the same time I'll definintely incorporate some maps of the Earth. Hidan43vr 00:32, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
Do you know any ways in which I can get some other users to help with my timeline, maybe not contribute themselves if they don't want to but just give ideas. I've tried asking them directly but if there are better ways. Hidan43vr 23:24, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

East and West Florida joining the Continental Congress
They don't like the British
Mainly Catholic, and Brits are mainly protestant
Possible Reason 1
May be convinced by more powerful neighbors to join the Americans
Possible Reason 2
May get 'divine intervention' by the Pope
Possible Reason 3
Their Spanish bretheren in Cuba may promise help in the fight if they join.

Saying sorry ;)
As you may remember, I made edits against the Rules here and you told me to not make it again.
Well, i readed the rules and now i only edit the timelines or articles that explicitly permit to do that ( Yugoslavian Federation for example) Or the ones to whom i ask if i can edit and i receive an affirmative answer.
Just dropping here to say sorry ;) , and I am creating my own alternate history in which catalonia becomes independent ( though that is not the main plot)
That means that you have to ask the author to modify it? anyway, yes, i will have a look at what you say and at the whole rules again.
However, open timelines can be freely modified?
East and West Florida
What if King George had imposed unfair taxes on it much like the Thirteen Colonies?

An anon has recently vandalized the Principia Moderni pages and the TSTPTF talkpage. We need to compare his IP Adress to Eldwolf's. If they match it means that Eldwolf has become a vandal of Catherine purportions. Probably worse, as even Catherine didn't vandalize pages like this. Consider what he had so eliquontly written on the Principia Moderni page (after erasing everthing)
|“||"I would like to make 1 thing clear to all you low life pieace of shit. I hope you all burn in mother fucking hell. I want to join this game to have fun. From motherfucking day 1 you guys have been mean to me. Now your game is gone. Ban me now bitch."||”|
I say we give him what he wants. How about a Catherine special?
Yank 01:42, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
Well didn't we give Catherine like several chances? CrimsonAssassin 01:56, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
All because I tried to tell him that building up his military first would help him conquer Portugal faster. And we shouldn't give him several chances, he has shown that he is a troll. He already was given a chance after flaming me on my talk page he was given a three day ban, that was his chance, now he comes back to attack the whole game. LurkerLordB 02:02, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
But Catherine, for all her flaws, had never gone on a campaign of vandalism like this. This is a crime that demands immediate punishment. And did you see what he wrote on the Principia Moderni page? He's goading us to ban him, and I believe that we should oblige him.
Yank 02:06, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
I would say that this is a far worse crime than sockpuppetting, and that gets you a permaban, no second chance. LurkerLordB 02:18, October 4, 2011 (UTC)

Moravia (1983: Doomsday)
I've created another survivor state in former Czechoslovakia. I've called it Moravia and I would like some advice on how to make it plausible enough to graduate. I'm planning on making it a communist state that, with the natural freedom from the Soviet Union, has slowly reinstated the freedoms of the Prague Spring. The communist party is still the only legal party, but people can choose between multiple candidates. What do think of the idea?
Yank 01:17, October 6, 2011 (UTC)
I know that there are more than three strikes, but it's so much easier to put them on the map with the convienient districts framing their locations. Could you help me and provide a map of it shifted northwards? I'd like it to remain much the same size. Plus I think we should try to find a happy medium between the tiny Bohemia and the admittedly territory-bloated Bohemia.
Yank 12:32, October 6, 2011 (UTC)
I'm going to adopt the West Poland article as it, like Bohemia, is unfinished.
Yank 14:13, October 6, 2011 (UTC)
I'm not just adopting it because I want to shoehorn in my Moravia article. I decided to adopt it when I saw an unfinished article with a lot of potential. It's the same reason I adopted Bohemia. I mean, the last time Oer did anything with this article was over a year ago!

What if Troy had won the Trojan War?
The Greeks and Trojans whould definantley fight again and again o'er the trade routes but a major victory in Troy might prompt the burning of Athens and perhaps later Sparta. If so democracy might never develop or the Trojans might, as the Romans did, steal many ideas from the greeks and make them slaves. The Trojans whould definantley been later a challenge for Rome and Persia but they might withstand both those assaults and perhaps even pull an Alexander the Great and invade the invaders and conquer them whole-sale.
Just a Thought,
Bobalugee1940 20:59, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
We need to figure out which of the strikes listed were on the Cold War Kill Lists of the day, and were not added to them after '83.
Yank 02:04, October 10, 2011 (UTC)
Does that mean that much of the former Czechoslovak Army became the new Moravian Army? Assuming, of course, that the Slovak elements of the Army eventually leave for Nitra. I would like a blurb to put in the Military section of the Moravia article. Also I was talking about strikes in general, no just in Czechoslovakia.
Yank 02:30, October 10, 2011 (UTC)
But can you provide a blurb on the condition of the Moravian Army? I concede your point on the strikes. I'd like for it to be either posted on my talkpage or Moravia's talkpage. It would come with acknowledgement of you as co-author.

Disappointment In Action Regarding Beatles Reversion.
I apologise for some breaking of rules but i would like to know why in particular how a post regarding The Beatles Cancel Visit To America is somehow only to get a badge.Let me make several points known. The Conventions In Use In This Wiki has several don'ts. The first is regarding naming in terms of giving generic titles of things without much substance,The Beatles Cancel Visit To America has always been named that regardless of the edits i made and so ha always been accepted ever since it was first put up there.
Secondly it reiterates the importance of categorising things the right way.As i was not involved in the creation of this particular page it was already categorised beforehand.
Thirdly Future History Is Not Alt History.I indeed followed it for my Beatles story went up to the year 2002, nine years go.
Also Derivitave Works such as taking or fully fleshing off Turtledove timelines is prohibited. My story was original in every form.
Lastly Recreating Wikipedia is very much a no in terms of too many articles etc.My Beatles story was very much contained within the page with no articles made about it by me at all.
The page in particular has is what called An Open For Adoption box imbedded in it meaning it is free for any users to add to it. I admit i was naive to the JFK edit and i apologise for it was not mine but the Beatles page was Open For Adoption.
I find it downright arrogant to delete what i did in that page on the basis it was either making unsolicited changes or needles edits. The fact it had a Open For Adoption policy goes against this and i did not delete anything off the initial beginning at all.I expanded on it which is present in the Open For Adoption concept. The mere fact you used the words "in my opinion" undevalues any sense of actually talking to me one on one and understanding i was not used to it.Saying also "result in further action" is also extremely degrading when compared to the earlier use of words. I am a fan and have a sincere interest in alternate history and i admit to making bad mistakes but in terms of The Beatles no mistake was made whatsoever. On my website i posted a link to what i achieved and was proud of the story i concocted the first time i have ever released any of my alternate history ideas to the internet public including this community. I have been forced to delete in because of possible embarassment. During the time my edits were there it achieved two likes on the social networking site Facebook, not present before i contributed to it, if what i wrote was in the mind of being a troll why did two human beings most likely interested in history and possibly a member on this wiki endorse it through Facebook? Wouldn't it have been better if they had reversed the edits themselves of it was going against any rules?
I earlier browsed your page and was interested very much in it. I was going to say hello very much as courtesy but what should have been just a hello to a new member turned to accusations of "result in further action" I ask that a review might be done of the Beatles page i expanded upon and if found acceptable restored to its last state under me. A state which achieved two likes in such a short period of time.
I have been deeply dissapointed regarding this decision regarding my contribuition to the Beatles and so if any further problems arise i might just as well take my ideas someplace else.
Have A Good Day Of Editing
I am very sorry for what I said to you. I gelt what I did was very rude. please give me a kind response.

What gives? Am I missing something? I get a message in a what seemed to be a circumlocution (attached to a remark on a page you don't follow) that you had blocked this new editor for a week over something he felt was worth maybe a day. And then, as I was researching it this morning, you amend that to a month! That seems to be out of spite, which is unbecoming behavior for one granted the administrative powers you have on this wiki.
I have gone over everything that Kunarian has contributed, including talk pages, and have seen nothing bad enough for such a reaction. If I have missed something, please let me know? --SouthWriter 15:12, October 19, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for that. I think I will disregard the other (Better Allies) idea:
- Because the idea for the better allies thing came from a textbook saying about how India supported China becoming communist and how the chinese appreciated it and how the 2 were friends for a while before "the exodus".
- And by the border disputes, I take it you mean it around the tibet region because of the chinese occupation?
For A very Hindu Sub-continent:
(A faction of the ISI does fund the terrorist activities in OTL.)
- Any way to kurb the radicalists or atleast reduce them, like promoting hindu-muslim peace and other stuff in the timeline or the ATL?
- And I would like a somewhat possible way to include Burma into India if there could be a somewhat plausible idea, even if it might be "a bit" far-fetched, but if there is not a way, I will happily agree to what you said.
- I have to agree with your Afganistan thing but it was worth a shot as there was a program on the BBC once showing how Afganistan ws heading for liberial ideas, there was even an advert of the 70's showing in Afganistan to make women become bus-drivers, wearing western clothes (very suprisingly!!). Everything crashed with the '79 communist coup and then Russia invading.
Overall, thank you very much LG for reviewing my ideas, I really do appreciate it!! :D Imperium Guy 19:45, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

I have a question about the future history section of the rules. I was planning to write an AH with the POD being that Kim Jong-Il has a fourth son in 1988 who becomes the next leader. I would prefer to set the majority of the action as taking place in 2016, but if this does not fit within the rules I can push the time back to 2010. Please advise. I've decided to do these every saturday so as to make it regular and not 'go by the seat of your pants' and to also make it easier on you by now knowing when you'll get these.
Q1: What if the United States in perhaps the 1820s-1830s (or earlier if that won't work) legislated the Slavery Act which allowed slavery only in states below the Mason-Dixon Line and to the East of the Mississippi. This whould have the problems of slavery that whould later arise be in effect nullifyed except for Texas which may have to be an exception.to the legislation.
Q2: What if the United States had not given up Liberia?
Q3: What if the Kingdom of Aksum had been able to control the Muslim attacks on their ports and had thus not declined as dramatically as they had, or at all?
Q4: What if the Macedonians had won the Second Romano-Macedonian War?
Q5: What if the British had won the Battle of New Orleans?
Q6: What if the British had won the Battle of Fort McHenry?
Q7: What if the French Revolution had failed?
Q8: What if the Polish had not been partitioned in 1795?
Q9: What if the Israelis, through a series of freak events or acts of God or realy anything that you think whould make this possible, had been able to keep their Kingdom in one peice and had been able to stave off all invaders and keep their homeland safe?
Q10: What if the Watergate Scandal had been dropped by the media and Nixon got off scratch free?
I love AltHist for what it is... a wikia for everyone to express their love and fasination with Alternate History. However, lately I have found it hard to feel this love. You and LurkerLord with your constant accusations of bias while I am trying to go through my duties on Principia Moderni maintaining neutrality have make my life REALLY difficult. Not to mention your constant threat of banning! I have barely enough time as it is, but with all the arguments and everything... I find myself unable to finish everthing and upload to schedule. If this continues I will either crack and go nuts all over the Wikia (unlikely but I do sometimes have anger issues) or I will report you to the TSPTF for harassment and bullying (very likely, as I am usually calm).
However, I still respect you and your position with a level of admiration, especially with what you have achieved with 1983:Doomsday.
PS. I study history too and I know all about bias. I have learnt to omit bias in my school history essays unless told to voice opinion. Also please understand my plea, I only wish that Alt Hist can continue to fill a hole in my life that I have found after discovering this site (in fact my cousin was amazed I hadn't found something like this eariler). If you lose me, you will lose a valuable contributor to this site. I have SOOO many ideas that are waiting in a notebook for the summer holidays in December.

Please state what you find unreasonable with this timeline. So far, you have yet to tell me a specific implausibilty, basically protesting that European diplomacy in the timeline was foolish. I remind you that the policy of appeasement essentially allowed the Third Reich to become dangerous in the first place, and if it wasn't for the invasion of Czechslovakia, and the image of defensless Czechslovakia being subjugated, the allies may never have been shocked into action. Since the Sudentenland War happened the way it did, Germany's expansive tendancies were temporarily appeased, and the allies felt that peace had been upheld, if still become a whole lot more nervous. Okay, here's your weekly surprise.
1: What if the United States of America in the Vietnam Conflict had focused more on taking land than bodies? Also what if the USA basically said "screw you Cambodia" and had invade and occupied the nation which totally cut off the Ho Chi Minh Trail from South Vietnam?
2: What if Hitler had not killed the Jews and other 'undesireables' but had actually relocated them to areas in eastern Europe much like the USA did with the Native Americans?
3: What if France had won the Prusso-Franco War?
4: What if Austria-Hungary had won the Austro-Prusso War through the army being modernized years earlier much like the Prussians had.
5: What if the Holy Roman Empire had kept a strong central government instead of the Holy Roman Emperor become mostly powerless and more of a figure-head of a loose conglomorate of nations.
6: What if the Swiss had interviened in WWI, possibly after the Germans or Allies invaded the nation to attempt to get to the relatively unprotected southern regions.
7: What if Rommel had not been caught up in an attempt to kill Hitler?
8: What if the Mexicans had gotten the Zimmerman Letter unmolested and had acted upon it (they invaded America)?
9: What if the Nazis had won at the battle of el-alamein?
10: What if instead of humanity evolving into one species had evolved into several species of the Homo genus?

Fx, the Nimitz, and Hawaii
Hi, LG. Having read you last response on the main talk page, I was going to continue there, but on second thought, that seemed pointless. I come here for to tie together a few "loose ends" and diffuse any more tension that might still be between the two of you.
First, about Fx. He indicated that he still did not understand your contention that he 'slandered' you or 'lied' about you. You yourself admitted that he was probably unintentional in his remarks, so you are at fault in continuing to insist that what he says was 'in the least' (to use your phrase) meant to injure you. I met with the same befuddlement when you made the charges against me for "insulting you" in the exchange not long ago. You went on and on trying to defend your reasons why you thought I had wronged you, and got upset when I seemingly did not understand (or "get it"). You seem to have a problem in interpreting people - or perceive yourself as being able to 'read' in between the lines - which occasionally brings you into these confrontations. I have no idea which it is, or why it is, but it is a problem which you need to work on.
If you will indulge me for a moment or two, I will attempt an analysis of my own - not 'between the lines' but of the actual words written by both you and Fx.
First, in the conclusion of the original post:
As the Nimitz appears in a number of articles (I did research/review each one), this would be a major change and one I would believe all writers would wish to discuss and reach a consensus before proceeding.
Fairly uncontroversial, though only twelve changes are involved (by my count). But you 'complicated' matters (unintentionally) and postured that this was no big deal:
It's actually a minor change - literally, it's just changing "Nimitz" to "Carl Vinson." To consider that difficult is a little silly, to be honest.
Ah, seems simple enough! If he had just left it alone at that, huh? But he defends his suggestion, and in that, he may have misspoke:
the entire back-story of the ship will have to be rewritten when the Nimitz is dropped and the Carl Vinson, if everyone agrees to its choice, is substituted. I will be upfront in saying the entire back-story for the Nimitz always felt rather dubious and unlikely for several reasons. That aside however, the basing for that story was that the ship was in the Atlantic and its "journey" was the result of that. The Vinson is already in the Pacific as of 9/25/1983 and it makes little sense for it to go to the Atlantic. Thus, among other things, it never meets up with NATO ships.
He apparently found an archived discussion or an ancient version of the story, for I did not come up with this on my simple search of the term "Nimitz." In that, then, you were right, there is no 'back story' to change. As far as the existing time line is concerned, the "Nimitz" shows up in the Pacific sailing out of Tahiti. But then you made a big deal out of the fact that he had said NATO ships not being encountered, trying to show that he was in error.
And, fyi, NATO ships are not confined to the Atlantic.
I did a fact check and I cannot find any mention of NATO in the Pacific - ever - and I certainly would not expect them to be since it is specifically the North Atlantic Treaty Organization that has only two member nations that border the Pacific -- Canada and the United States. NATO was deployed to the Persian Gulf in 1979, so you are technically correct. Also, NATO's primary field of operation is the Mediterranean Sea which is technically "part of" the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded on the north by member nations.
Fx says of Hawaii:
As to Hawaii, albeit a suggestion, I was surprised why you were quick to discount it. I realize you are aware of this, but there is something to keep in mind. These are ships of the US Navy with crews sworn to aid and protect the American people and as far as everyone knows it is a state of war.
A very valid point, for the Navy would not run from the enemy, but rather would engage it - and it would protect Americans 'in harms way' rather than those in out of the way places not considered "likely targets." The assumptions that you make would not follow necessarily. But from this, you see fit to "deny" the perception that you "discount" the possibility. That was an over-reaction on your point.
Now comes the really offensive paragraph, at least as you perceive it. Fx says:
Frankly, this is giving me a headache. Yes, I did make the statement and never denied it. Nonetheless, you took the sentence out of context. If you read the whole paragraph, which I know you did, I was talking about the scenario written for the Nimitz which involved it meeting up with NATO ships in the Atlantic. I can not imagine how anyone would presume I was saying there were no NATO ships in the Pacific. As to the back story I mentioned, I find myself surprised at what you are saying. If I take you literally at what you are saying, your suggestion is to simply fill in the Vinson where the Nimitz is mentioned and leave it at that?? So the Vinson will sail through the Pacific, go to the Atlantic, wander around, gather up ships, and come to Australia?? If that is what you are saying, I am so shocked I simply don't know what to say in response.
I have put in boldface the parts that explain, on the surface, where Fx was coming from. Though you deny it, you did "take the sentence out of context" in order to make your point about NATO (see above) which is a moot point since as far as I can see NATO, as an organization, would not be in the Pacific. Furthermore, he goes on to say that it he who is having a problem understanding where you are coming from. He is pretty sure that you are not saying that the Vinson would end up in the Atlantic, not realizing that in the final analysis it was never posted that it was. Using a question mark to indicate his confusion, he distinctly indicates that it is the notion that putting the Vinson in the Atlantic is what is surprising in the sense of incredulous. He further qualifies it with another "IF" - indicating that he doubts that such an idea is what you had in mind. You were not called an "idiot" - and he was using figurative speech namely hyperbole - deliberate exaggeration out of emotion or for effect (here quite probably out of emotion).
Furthermore, Fx got deeper into the hot water you had been figuratively heating up saying:
Based on the discussions we have engaged in the last months, it is fairly clear to me you don't like things which may challenge canon or require changes. More than often that seems to be the bottom line of your argument, don't change it, its canon or since canon says so, it can't be. I respect your adherence to this policy as one of the editors. However, as a historian, I would imagine you have learned the same thing I have from studying history for over forty years, as new data arises you should not discount it because it challenges established theory but you should consider it and make adoptions if needed. Basically, have an open mind.
By stating his perception, you take it as "slander" (To defame; to injure by maliciously uttering a false report - Webster's dictionary, 1913 [because a it's free app]). You yourself have said that it was probably unintentional, so their is no malice. Is it a "lie"? well, he says that it is his perception ('based on ...' and 'fairly clear' - and finally 'seems to be'). It may be a false perception, but it is not a lie. As for the final "slander" - you perceive that he says you do not have an "open mind." But that is not what he says. He says that from studying history he has learned, as he imagines you have, that one must have an open mind to changing theories of what has happened and what it all means. In putting it the way he does, he is putting together an equation of sorts: "[the student of history] should not discount [new data] (that is) [he should] have an open mind."
Well, if you read any of that, I thank you for your patience. I hope that what I have said has made some sense, and be assured, I do not in any way mean to offend in any that I have said. I have my faults, and I know that I mess up sometimes. But I try to see things from different perspectives and try not to assume to much about the other point of view. I take things on the surface until research shows that the surface may not be all it seems to be. My hope is that you can learn to do the same. --SouthWriter 04:13, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Putting Words in Your Mouth?
Once again, I prepared this to answer your continuing reply on the main page. However, due to it's personal nature of your response, directed toward me and not the subject (for the most part) in discussion, I place this instead on your talk page.
- Excuse me? That whole last long post he made was condescending. He blamed everything on us being "confused" by what he was saying when that is obviously not the case. He has not been a gentleman, in the least.
- His "offer" was not condescending. Though, thanks for putting words into my mouth again. What was condescending was the rest of it.
- He has proposed major canon changes, and did not once say that he would not do any. Nor have I expressed any "fear." Quit trying to put words in my mouth, I am absolutely sick of it.
- First, this is what Fx wrote:
- (In response to a response by Brian)
- Hi Brian, I am glad you had the chance to review the discussion. I am good with whatever the final decision of the group is. (FxGentleman)
- Notice, LG, that Fx is willing to go along with the consensus, whatever it is.
- I wanted to take a moment though to address one aspect of the discussion that I am afraid may have caused confusion among the writers without my being aware of it.
- Once again, LG, you missed the qualifier! He says that HE may have caused confusion, which he certainly did on MY part. Note the may. The only place that the back story on the Nimitz appears is in a minor article about the ship the Commonwealth which at least on my part was overlooked. You did not reference it at all in all your arguments, so I can only assume -- yes assume -- that you were not aware of it either. Far from 'condescending,' Fx is apologizing!
- Near the end of the apology, Fx states:
- I now realize the possibility exists, and again I don't know if I am right or wrong on this, that nobody may have been aware of what I was talking about or why I was concerned. That is why I wanted to take the time to lay this all out to the writers as I have and if my belief is correct apologize for any confusion.
- Again, clearly he states it is an apology. No one here seems to be distressed but you, LG.
- Now, about "putting words in your mouth" twice.
- I wrote:
- when he offers to use his research to rewrite the Commonwealth article around the Vinson rather than the Nimitz, you call it "condescending"!
- This you claim is making you "say" that the "offer" is condescending. Whereas I might have thought that, what I said was 'when he offers' not that the offer itself is all that is being considered as the 'it.' The whole paragraph, which you do claim is 'condescending' is included in the 'when.' I did not put words in your statement, I simply interpreted what I read. Of course, no words were audibly spoken, but I understand your concern. I did not intentionally misrepresent what you wrote.
- I wrote:
- He has done the work, and he admits that nothing like your feared "major canon changes" are in view, so why be "dead-set against" the re-write?
- And to this you claim:
- Nor have I expressed any "fear." Quit trying to put words in my mouth, I am absolutely sick of it.
- You do not have to use the word to indicate that you are displeased at the thought of these changes being considered. And that displeasure appears very real to those who read your statements on the issue. Any major changes to canon can rightfully be called 'feared' without 'putting words' into your mouth. And I am sorry if the use of an adjective is contributing to this sickness of yours.
Finally, I can, and do, consider Fx's response to be quite gentlemanly. Your continued belligerence is becoming rather annoying, but perhaps is to be expected. I like that you can "thank" me when I agree with you with not a hint of sarcasm, though. Perhaps you could learn to show that same restraint when you disagree.
I do not wish to "scold" you, LG, but you do seem to have some problems in relating to what others are "saying" when they write. There are only so many clues that we can give you to our intentions behind what we write, but the use of qualifiers like "may" and "seem" should be clues enough that opinions differ. And when you can take the choice of an adjective as "putting words" into your mouth to the point of making you sick, there may be personal problems which only you can deal with. What you will more than likely succeed in doing is causing the rest of us to discount want you have to say even when you are not speaking personally to some editor. 1) Couldn't Sodom and Gommorah take their position at the salt mines and become regional leaders, if not eventually major powers before being crushed?
4) The Soviet-Sino Split was because the Soviets refused to deal with the west while the Chinese continued to. I'm sayng what if the Chinese acted more like the Soviets and totally said "screw you, west!"
5) The Etruscans might have been less Romanesque and the Roman influence on today or yesterday whould've been different, also they might not have stood up against the Carthaginians or been able to conquer an empire.
6) Couldn't Hiter's victory have inspired others to rise up in thier homelands?
7) But with the English Navy gone the Spanish-English situation might have been reversed with the English discovering South America and the Spanish in North America.
9) Let me rephrase "what if the politcos had not re-instated De Gaulle?"
Ooh, sure, I'd love to. ChrisL123 20:17, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Can you help us?
There was a timeline I once found called Nasser of Arabia. Sadly, it seems to be have been deleted. I managed to find the talk page though and found out Nuke created this. I told him about this and asked if he could find a way to revive it. He told me he would, since it was his first timeline, and I found his plans for the revival in his sandbox page.
The reason it disappeared was the ASBs he was run on along the way. Although Arab Spring really messed up any chance to revive the timeline, he never gave up.
I was wondering, can you help us contribute to the new timeline?
RandomWriterGuy 03:42, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
- I can't believe he actually is trying to bring you into this. Please forgive me, but he made mention of one of my former timelines, and I told him that I may bring it back, but I think he is getting the wrong idea. I deleted those pages, and I have no intention of undeleting them. If I were to bring them back, it would be under a new name. But if it seems weird, I was going to ask your opinion on the idea, but RWG beat me to it. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 03:47, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so very much. I try to be nice about it, but I fear he is becoming a stalker. I am quickly loosing patience.
As for the timeline, thank you for your comment. Like I have been telling everybody, there are still bugs to work out, and I have just realized there is conflicting information that I didn't realize until last night. As for my commenting back... Israel is going to be a weird one. I keep getting conflicting ideas on the issue, and I just went with the one that seemed the most plausible to me. Regardless, Israel did instigate the Six-Day War by attacking not one, but three nations at once. Whether they only attack Jordan in TTL, it seems likely that this would get the UAR involved. I am very well aware that Israel claims to have nuclear weapons (until I see them do a Soviet-styled parade, they are open season XD), but I dough they would use them to a full extent. The reason I mentioned that the west may eventually accept the absorption of Israel would be the fact that it was Israel who invaded Arab lands, not the Arabs attacking to eliminate the Jewish State. Plus, I am confident the USSR would strongly back the UAR, and would also push the idea that it was the "Imperialist Israelis" who attacked the "Poor Arabs," making me think this could end up like another Sues Crisis, with the US (just years after the Cuban Missile Crisis) probably looking for the most peaceful outcome, even if it means Israel is off the map. I highly dough the Arabs would turn this situation into another Holocaust (as RWG called it), as this would most certainly turn it into WWIII. My bet guess would be that the would simply occupy Israel, allowing the Jews safety in the lands originally designated for them. I don't currently have much after that, but I do feel it could be possible that with international pressure, the Jews can gain equal rights in the UAR. I take this on the belief that Arab Socialism would open up the people to change that wouldn't exist in OTL, which would only happen with no Israel.
- Just an update. I have gone through several alternate history sites to get some ideas, and I came across an idea which could work, and I wanted to get your opinion. Here is the link. In a nutshell, there would be neither a UAR or Israeli victory. The UAR would settle for Israel to agree on the 1947 UN border proposal, which would lead to better relations between the UAR and Israel (more or less). I think that this is definitely the best solution than what I originally thought, and looks at the situation on a neutral position (not being either pro-Arab or pro-Israeli). What do you think, because I like the idea. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 05:02, December 1, 2011 (UTC)

Red Scare World
I have been making several edits to the Red Scare World TL. I was wanting to know if you have any suggestions on advancing the plot. You seem to be an expert on making alternate timelines about the Soviet Union so maybe you could come up with some ideas on the internal affairs of the Soviet Union and their occupied territories? I made an overhaul to the Oriental-Soviet War by making it more of a Korean War-like conflict which ended after several years with no true winner: The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere lost a bit of territory to the USSR while the USSR gained an equal amount of territory. Also the very bad leadership of Vyacheslav Molotov resulted in a coup led by Nikita Khrushchev who quickly negogiates a cease-fire with the Japanese-Chinese led coalition to end the unpopular war in East Asia. Hello Lordganon, I am Insurgence, and admin of Alien Species Wiki. I don't know you and you don't know me, but I come here to discuss some things with you. User:RandomWriterGuy recently came onto Alien Species Wiki with the intent to insult of of our admins, Owen1983. I understand there is some bad blood between this wiki and Owen, I'm not entirely sure what. Owen is a trusted admin on our wiki however, he has been an admin since before I joined that particular community. It is not appreciated when someone comes on and begins to slander him with personal attacks and such. RWG also said this; "In fact, they had you nominated you for the Best Ban (even if Catherine may had one it), and I'm going to nominate you in the 2012 one." I have a problem with this. Perhaps this wiki has forgotten common courtesy, or maybe it has forgot the very important rule of not feeding the trolls. Through this process, you are giving all the vandals and spammers recognition, which is exactly what they want. Please help me understand why Alt history both allows editors to persecute blocked persons on other wikis and why there is a ceremony that gives recognition to vandals? Thank you for your time. Long Time, No See
Hey, LG. It's been almost a year since I last contributed here, and I'm thinking on coming back. I do understand your a high-ranking member on this site now, so I was wondering if you could explain to me, is 1983DD still an active timeline or is it effectively dead? It looks like the Map Games have taken over in the past 11 months ive been gone. But anyways, I just wanted to say hi and ask you for advice on who is still active in 83DD. Arstar 01:25, December 3, 2011 (UTC)
So you've basically taken over things since Mitro, huh?
Right before I left I "flooded" the timeline with a lot of ideas that seemed interesting at the beginning but I quickly lost interest in. I'm going to keep control over my core articles and those I put alot of effort into, like North Penn, Florida Republic, Cali Republic, Niagara, etc. I need to re-organize my assets and run a more compact group of articles. It's not fair to anyone to anyone to just leave all those articles in limbo.
Anyways, I'm definitely back at least for a while so I'll be doing some work on the timeline. I was planning on negotiating the Cali Republic to re-joining the United States back during the summer but I never got around to doing it. So long as it did not cause discord with any other articles, do you think it is plausible? This is still a brainstorm of mine, but I feel that the American Spring that happened ATL kind of came and went without any effect. Thanks an tell me what you think. 1983 DD proposal states
(referring to my earlier post about the Uralic SSR) Are you sure that a form of the Uralic SSR work somewher around Mordvinia or Mari El? They are not part of the USSR from what I see. Since they are basically a puppet of Siberia's that is actualy seeking integration into the USSR (I'm actually thinking about making the Uralic SSR propose merging with the Northwest Territory as the Uralic SSR within the Union if it can and gets graduated), maybe it's acceptable to have it pitted against it.
Also, why isn't the kingdom in Tarragones possible? I'm not sure that it wouldn't have survived (Portugal is pretty close to Lisboa and Tarragona is not much farther away from Barcelona than Andorra or the Spanish Republic fromValencia and Moron).
Hey, I'm making an ATL about the Celtic tribes uniting early on and becoming a medieval superpower of sorts. Before I went into depth (the medieval stuff will be the bulk, but there will be a lot to expand on since the POD is when Boudica prevented the Romans from gaining a foothold in Britain). Making this TL made me really want to watch Braveheart too. CrimsonAssassin 03:00, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I do, but it's a wiki thing. The major TLs have navigation portals at the bottom. In 1983: DD, the code is literally 1983: Doomsday. How do I make those? CrimsonAssassin 23:56, December 4, 2011 (UTC)I mean the templates like this:

Hey LG. I wanted to bring this idea up with you before I even think about making mention of it on the main page (New Union). Primarily, I don't want RWG getting wind of this (so if RWG happens to be reading this, stay out).
I have been doing more reading about the Caucasus region. I made mention about it a long time ago, and even made a poll which seemed to have a unanimous support for it. I am still on and off on the idea, but I have been reconsidering the idea of Armenia rejoining the USSR after a period of independence. Much like what I have done for Macedonia rejoining Yugoslavia, the Armenians could very well decide to rejoin the USSR after seeing how prosperous and reformed it has become (as well as the growing problems that Armenia would have suffered during the 90s). I would love to get your opinion on this, and whether you think the poll has any legitimacy. This has also made me consider how this may affect neighboring Georgia. I believe this may help keep steady relations, and would definitely prevent the Rose Revolution (which was already canon). But another HUGE leap, could this lead to the potential readmission of Georgia? Since TTL Georgia would be greatly different from OTL, do you think there could be a possibility? --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 00:11, December 5, 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. Like I said, just an idea I had to get out. But in the end, I do agree that I don't want there to be any change. However, I did come across something that I may want to add to the timeline. I came across that a Kurdish republic was declared in 1992, and was backed by Armenia because it created a physical connection between them and Artsakh. It didn't work, and the region was eventually populated by Armenians (and explains the large amount of Azeri land now part of the NKR). But I could see this turn out very differently here. With Artsakh gaining more sovereignty, as well as the Talysh gaining autonomy, the deported Kurd population within the USSR and Armenia may demand similar autonomy (which was originally granted in the 1930s, revoked by Stalin, and has been active since the 1960s), reestablishing Red Kurdistan as an autonomous republic of Azerbaijan. I see it as being a Crimean-like situation. --NuclearVacuum (Talk) 01:01, December 5, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, how whould it be not non-althist? I honestly do not understand how the revised version isnt althist. Bobalugee1940 03:02, December 5, 2011 (UTC)
Did you read what I posted about how if the revised version were althist, every fantasy novel ever written would be alternate history, because their POD is the same of yours (instead of our world, there is a totally different one). It still needs to be grounded it real history, you cannot just replace history. LurkerLordB 03:15, December 5, 2011 (UTC)
The AltHist is based in history as the gods are made in 3000BC and history was already well on its way, thus the course whould then suddently change with the sudden arrival of the gods with huge amounts of power. Also if they were to actually have a palace on Mt.Olympus just imagine how much hstory that whould change. Thus I'm not replacing it, I'm altering it. Bobalugee1940 03:36, December 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, LG. I was looking at a map of "modern-day" Ontario in 1983: Doomsday, and I couldn't find any indication of Toronto or the GTA on it. Were the cities bombed and never reorganized, or is it just that no editor has made an article on it yet? ChrisL123 21:28, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to get to work expanding Issaquah-Snoqualmie a bit and fleshing out that region's history, as well as its geopolitics (i.e. connections with the PFS and Victoria, if any). It'll be a bit of a lawless region initially that eventually turns into a fairly self sufficient survivor community.

Best Copy-editor nomination
Hi, LG. I want some information about your work in this area. Pitaking has nominated you, but according to my idea of copy-editing, I was wondering if you have done much in the way of correcting articles for grammar and spelling in the past year. The vast majority of your edits seem to be in adding categories - you have to be the champ at that! - but I don't remember your ever copy-editing any of the articles I am following.
This does not mean you haven't, but wading through thousands of lines of contributions to "prove my point" is not what I want here. You are deserving the accolades of the wiki for being there everyday looking over things. You have reverted the work of countless vandals, for which we are greatful, but what of the mundane work of making an article more readable. Or gently correcting spelling and grammar as would be expected if an article were printed or posted on a wide-open blog? It's thankless work, for sure, and a good copy-editor is hard to find. Are you one of them?
I don't want to bring it up in discussion openly, but I have asked Pitaking to consider what copy-editing means. I told him I would be talking to you about it. It is not my intent to hurt you, but I only want fairness in these rewards. Accepting a nomination for something you haven't been doing is unethical, so I wanted to let you know. If you have spent much time reading over articles and correcting glaring errors, I'd like to know, for I could use a keen eye to read stuff I would like to publish. As you probably know, even the most careful editor cannot catch all his own errors. That being said, I look forward to your clarification on this matter.
Have a good day. SouthWriter 15:41, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, LG. I just have a question for you. In my timeline Montcalm Survives, New France wins the Battle of the Plains of Abraham and eventually win the French and Indian War. This win would mean France keeps New France and New France gains Rupert's Land. Now, the biggest hole in my timeline is the South American part. I decided to have the Central American Republic stay united in fear of a Mexican take over, but I'm not sure this is valid, and what a French power in North America would mean for South American world. Could you help point some major changes out that would happen to South America? Thanks in advance. ChrisL123 01:11, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I figured "pivotal battle" meant that for both sides, but that's fine, I could live with another ASB tag. And the only reason I figured the French would gain Rupert's Land because 1) it was a disputed territory 2) one of the main reasons for going to Canada in the first place was for beaver fur and what better place to gain beaver fur than Rupert's Land. Also, why would it minus Louisiana? ChrisL123 02:21, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

I have an idea for a new timeline. The main POD is that, by one way or another the Russians either fail or refuse to sell the Alaska colony. This could happen due to a number of factors, including a bloodier civil war or earlier gold rush. This later causes the second POD, which has either all or part or the Romanov dynasty fleeing to Alaska to escape the Bolsheviks. They declare the independance of the Alaskan Empire from the USSR, and potentially gain support from the various anti-Soviet world powers. The Romanovs, in an attempt to preseve their power in their new country, create a constitution for the Alaskan Empire. I personally prefer the earlier gold rush, as the independant Alaskan state would need quite a bit of hard currency. I believe that foreign economic and potential military asistance is likely, as they had done the exact same thing in OTL. I would like your honest opinion, but I would like some advice on how to improve it.
Yank 02:28, December 31, 2011 (UTC)
I like it. I believe that that it keeps the possiblity of them being restored to power after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Either that or a branch of the Alaskan Romanovs gets transplanted back in Moscow. Naturally the constitution of Alaska, and later Russia, would be heavily inspired by both Britain and America. Though the Duma should probably remain called the Duma.

This isn't for anything or anyone, this is just from me to you:
I guess I'm nearly ready to get off my wikibreak. As I am writing this, I have intentionally not looked at anything else on this site since my last edit. I have had unexpected changes in life that have made me increasingly busy, so from now on my main goal will be bringing Principia Moderni to a smooth landing, doing whatever my role as a constable entails, and pursuing my own timelines.
You might say I've changed a little. At the moment I'm ready to wipe the slate clean and put behind any past arguments with you or about you. I do not know the results of the recent whatchamacallit, and I don't really plan on finding out. No matter what came of it, my original goal was met: of having the community be heard. But now I don't want to look back, only move forward and make the site constructive.
All I ask is that we are on the same page to start the year. I ask that if necessary we can agree to disagree and keep everything constrctive. Don't feel the need to reply or act on this. Happy new year, and thanks for your dedication to the community. Detectivekenny (Info; Talk) 23:29, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
I think what should happen is the Confederation of the Rhine has West Germany, Prussia controls the west, and Austria acts as a sort of balancing act in between to keep th two on level, and the Confederation under control. Ownerzmcown 01:34, July 20, 2011 (UTC)
Well, the border will likely remain about the same as after the Rhineland War, and as for Africa, I expect that the Race will be much more two-sided between Britain and France, as very few states are left besides these two that can afford the empire, however, Spain, Austria, Prussia, the Confederation, and the US may very well also acquire some land in Africa. Perhaps with the Boxer Rebellion around the turn of the 20th century, the Western Powers can overthrow the pro-Boxer monarchy, and establish some sort of large, Western client state in China, just a though. Oil in Bakersfield
Hi LG I noticed you are the author of the Visalia (1983: Doomsday) article; I propose a rediscovery of oil in Bakersfield by either Visalia, or the Chumash Republic, and they form and oil pact; naturally Santa Cruz wants to get involved so they make claims to oil a well (possibly being a starting for a war in former California). Riley.Konner 20:37, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
- Well... fine I guess the idea can be shelved, but are you in on at least forming a military alliance with Visalia and Chumash, which would also lead to a war in California? (similar to the 2009 Saguenay War) Riley.Konner 21:3, August 1, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you; I have read the American Spring article, and in Chumash, the protests will start peacefully with heavy police monitoring the protestors, until the protestors start attacking the police and they are forced to fight back. They arrest a majority of the protestors and raid CRUSA headquarters in Chumash and arrest the leaders for "treasonous actions." I figured nations on the east coast would view the protesters as martyrs while nations on the west coast view that the Chumash Republic had handled the protests very well. Riley.Konner 15:44, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
Roman Empire survives
I have an idea for a timeline where the Roman EMpire survives to the present day. There are a couple of timelines where the Roman Empire manages to survive in different places (such as the British Isles and the Americas). I was just wondering if we could write one where the ROman Empire manages to hold on to it's homeland in the Italian Peninsula. Is there a way to make this a reality?
Yank 03:35, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Who do you recomend I talk to for a co-author? I like the France and North Africa options, but I have some questions.
- What would the North African enclave call itself? I can only think of one name, and I doubt they are going to name themselves after long-dead archrival Carthage. I can guess what the French enclave would call itself. Riffing off the "Brittanian Empire" I read about in one timeline, I come up with either the "Gallic Empire" or the "Gaulic Empire".
- Would the potential defeat of Clovis allow the Gauls to absorb the Franks? All it would take is Clovis meeting the fate of Harold II of England (death by combat). This would naturally make the Gallic language highly based in Latin.
- Would the North African enclave then be heavily settled by Greeks and Italians? And since the Arabs would have been stopped at the Sinai, that would mean that the North African tribal languages would be more influenced by Greek than by Arabic. And it would also mean that Eithiopia wouldn't be the only Christian nation in North Africa.
- What would be a good name for North Africa enclave survival timeline? I've basically decided I like that scenario best, and so am going to make that timeline first.
Yank 04:58, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Oh and when the North African state defeats the Arabs can they reclaim all former territory in North Africa?
Yank 05:11, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
I just liked the idea of the Romans potentially turning the tide against the Arabs and absorbing the Arab territory in Africa (namely Egypt). Anyway, I realised that the chaos caused by Gaul's survival in Europe makes the French option more appealing to me now. If the Franks end up in Germany where do the Germanic people go? Do the Gauls end up with all (or most of) of France? What would be a good name for the Gaulic timeline? What other buterflies do you think could result fromthe timelines POD?
Yank 13:58, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Do you know of anyone who specializes in the kind of Roman/Medieval history needed for the Gallic timeline?
Yank 14:03, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
So in TTL the French language would be more closely related to German than to the French language of OTL? That's very interesting to know. I like the name "Frankland" myself, as it showcases how different the Frankish people of TTL are from the French of OTL. The Gauls intermarry into the Burgundian Kingdom, peacefully absorbing the country. I have some ideas for the nations created by this timeline.
There is also a Byzantine Empire, which is the OTL Byzantine Empire with better luck in the Middle East.
Yank 19:52, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
- Gallic Empire- Remnant of the Western Roman Empire, and the focus of this timeline. The capitol is Parisium, which is Paris in the medieval Latin of the time. Borders are roughly the equivilent of OTL
- Frankland- Gaulic Rome's equivilent to France. The capital is in Berlin, the name of which is unchaned because of the Frank language's Germanic nature. Borders are roughly equivilent to Germany, Austria and the western parts of Poland.
- Gothica- A nation evolved from the Visigoth kingdom in Spain. The capitol is Toledo. The borders roughly correspond to Spain and Portugal (plus Gibraltar).
- Austria- A nation evolved from the Ostrogoth Kingdom in Italy. The capital is Ravenna. The borders, pushed back by various conflicts, roughly correspond to Italy and Dalmatia.
- Angland- Without a WIlliam the Conqueror to conquer it, Angland is still under Anglo-Saxon rule. The capital is Lundenwic, which is the Anglo-Saxon name for London. The borders roughly correspond to those of England and Wales.
- Celtic Kingdom- A unified Celtic kingdom in the northern portions of the British Isles. The capital is Áth Cliath, which is the Irish name for Dublin. The borders roughly correspond to Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.
- Germany- The Gaulic Rome equivlent of Germany. The capital is in Wilna, which is the German name for Vilinius. The borders roughly correspond to the Baltic states, East Prussia, and Finland.
- Hungary/Magyaria- The Gaulic Rome equivilent of Hungary. The capital is in Budapest like in OTL. The borders roughly correspond to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.
- Turkey- With the Byzantines more sucessful in their bid to stay alive, Turkey is far away from its OTL location. The borders roughly translate to the former Central Asian Republics of the Soviet Union.
I've started the Gallic Rome portal page, and I'm going to create the pages for the nations of the timeline. I would really like it if you would help me on creating the timeline page.
NOTE: I've decided that it would be interesting if the Gauls reclaimed the Italian homeland as well as the Benelux nations. It would be a plausible reason for the Byzantine to not spend the effort to conquer the region. And they would be less overextended in doing so.

I'm going to go for the Romans fighting at a different time. What if Clovis isn't killed in the battle, but it does discourage him from attempting to conquer Gaul? He instead turn his attention to the Germanic states to the east, and conquers them. The Merovingians thus are still the Kings of Frankland (OTL Germany and southern Poland). The conquering of the German states forces the Germans to resettle in OTL northern Poland and the Baltic states.

I confess that I do not know who "Ragnachar" is. What is his significance?

Now for the next war in Qu'il Tous, which idea do you think should be done next: the Second Mexican-American War, or another Germanic war, only between the Confederation and Prussia? Ownerzmcown 23:59, October 7, 2011 (UTC)
Sounds good, I'll get started on next Germanic war tomorrow, should get pretty good. As for the Central America, that sounds good for something set around the Panama Canal, but we should probably get back to that later. As per the Germanic war, what should be the overall outcome, probably something big. Ownerzmcown 02:09, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
Didn't think you wanted to end the war in Prussia's favor, don't exactly get that. As for the Central American war idea, I can probably get that done easier, you'll have to get back to me first on Germany though. Ownerzmcown 10:58, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
Makes sense, guess I'll get started on that soon, as for Central America, I'll leave that up to you. Ownerzmcown 14:59, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
BTW, what are your ideas on American colonialism and expansionism for the timeline? Ownerzmcown 15:01, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
I propose the idea of a sort of honorary nobility like that of the British, or perhaps a German-style nobility, where as the King has supreme authority. Just a proposal I had in mind, although perhaps the answer, like most things, lies somewhere inbetween our different proposals. As per now, I'll start adding to Macedonia. Ownerzmcown 02:04, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
The clearification helps a lot, yeah that sounds like the right idea. As per the ship idea, I am not sure I exactly know what your talking about, so if I could just be reminded real quick, I'm sure we can make a decision. Ownerzmcown 12:56, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
Ah, okay, so the idea of recieving faulty plans seems like the obvious idea, so they just give them the bad designs, and that raises the growing tensions between the two. Also, I had an idea, for the Serbs invasion, I thought perhaps could play out like Operation Barbarossa, or something similar, you know, they attack, barely succeed in defending the capital, then the Macedonians gain decisive victory somewhere out west or to the south, and launch a counter-attack. Thoughts? Ownerzmcown 13:51, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
Another idea I had was that after the war, in an attempt to extend the powers of the government to the newly conquered territories, Macedonia holds a referendum, which determines whether or not a restructuring will occur. In the restructuring, the Assembly would be split into an upper house, the Senate, and a lower house, the National Assembly, and perhaps disestablish the office of president and replace it with a prime minister. I though about keeping the president, and adding a prime minister, but I thought a semi-presidential republic combined with a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy might make the distribution of powers to complicated, so I guess that's up to debate. Ownerzmcown 15:21, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
That all sounds about right, now as per the political enviornment after the war, if the Serbs and other ethnicities are given the right to vote, that might help to create the correct enviornment for the Social Democratic Party to grab hold of and rise up through. Ownerzmcown 13:50, October 31, 2011 (UTC)
Most likely, his regal name would their be King Bahaa or King Akkad, as for the royal houses name, I'd name it the House of el-Akkad, House of Hussein, or House of el-Akkad, although House of Hussein might run into naming problems with the royal line of King Faisal of Iraq. Ownerzmcown 16:00, October 31, 2011 (UTC)
Well then, perhaps the best options might be ones that are related to the old Kings of Greece, ones that might be relatable to some of the citizens in Greece, perhaps George III, Constantine III, or Paul II, although Alexander II would be an option, that is obviously stupid as the confusion would be horrible. Ownerzmcown 18:39, October 31, 2011 (UTC)
So far, what I imagine as along the lines of Operation Barbarossa, is the Serbians launch the Barbarossa-esque attack, come to the gates of Skopje, get defeated, attack west, likely towards Gostivar or maybe even deeper, get pinned down, destroyed, and then a counter-attack in the east breaks the Serb's positions near Skopje, and then a general counter-attack pushes them back, and leads to the Serbs downfall. Now that finishes the idea of Macedonia's fight with Serbia, but what about their attacks in Transylvania and Bosnia, that probably needs to be talked about also. Ownerzmcown 21:51, October 31, 2011 (UTC)
Just an Idea
In idea I had come up with was perhaps what would results be in the relations of Transylvania, Partium, and Macedonia after the Second Yugoslav War. Perhaps some sort of alliance, maybe even a trade agreement, but then again I did notice both Transylvania and Partium are members of the Black Sea Accords, and may therefore gravitate towards Greece. Yet, I can't help but think of the what conflict may happen after the war, when Macedonia and Greece, at least on land now stand on a militaristic sort of equal ground. Thoughts? Ownerzmcown 03:05, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
I suppose so, but what I think would happen would be on the level of a kind of "cold war" between Greece and Macedonia after Serbia's gone. They would be two of the main powers on the Balkans, they've spent years gathering "chips" in the form of allies that they can throw into a "pot." Perhaps after the Second Yugoslav War is over, it might be a gateway to new tensions between Greece and Macedonia.
Also, you might want to look into archiving your talk page...again. Ownerzmcown 14:40, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
I would suppose the war may open up a path for detente, but what may the aftermath be in Greece politically when the deal passes, unless it's kept a secret. Ownerzmcown 15:26, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
Second Yugoslav War
So now that the war is going on, I do believe we talked about earlier of Transylvania joining in the war? I would like to know if, and then if so how, they are to join the war, and how their small military would be mobilized, and in this case, likely expanded, to meet the threat of Serbian invasion. Ownerzmcown 21:47, December 23, 2011 (UTC)
Hey LG, I believe we said we would start the war between Macedonia and Serbia sometime in late-August, right? What are your throughts? Ownerzmcown 23:49, August 28, 2011 (UTC)
