|Hello and welcome to the Alternate History Wiki!|
The Alternate History Wiki is a project for all communities concerned with creating fictional alternative histories. We hope you will feel at home here and wish you good luck contributing to our ever growing collection of alternative histories.
Future history is not permitted on this wiki, it doesn't matter how long you worked on it. You have three days to move all of your work to another wiki that allows this, which there are several of, before your page is deleted. Or, you can modify your story to be set in the past. You have been blocked for a day due to your ridiculous and profane all-caps insults on my page. That is not the proper way to communicate to anyone on this wiki, and if you treat anyone like that again, you will be blocked for a much longer time. LurkerLordB (Talk) 18:18, October 7, 2012 (UTC)
May i suggest using other maps and refraining from using the low quality image format of .JPEG, rather use .PNG or .SVG if possible. All you have to do to make a higher resolution image is like this
- Copy out the section of the world you want from a blank world map
- Paste it into a new image file (i use ms paint)
- Use pencil tool to draw a border, and then use the paintbucket tool to fill it.
I might also add that the above is correct, future history is not permitted on this wiki and must be moved to a different wiki before disciplinary actions to be taken.
Be sure to read wiki guidelines
Thanks! I also use ms paint! I know about the future history the thing above is from October. my current althistory starts in 1200s. It's called Age of Asia. Thanks for the advice. (Masterire (talk) 19:07, August 27, 2013 (UTC))
Problem was that you were using some sort of odd template - not the one actually used for nations on this wiki. I changed it, so it will be easier to add things now. Also switched the map you had on that page to be inside it.
You can find out more about this template here.

Greetings. Recently, you have uploaded a file on this site that is a duplicate of another. Please keep in mind that many of the files used on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons have also been uploaded to this site — with all of them having been uploaded under the same file names used on those sites (making it quite easy to locate any files you may need). If you are using the "Visual" mode for editing and uploading, please be advised that you will be required to use underscores (
_) instead of spaces when searching for a file (e.g., "Flag_of_Canada.svg" and not "Flag of Canada"). In the event that the file you acquire has not already been uploaded onto this site, than we highly recommended that you upload the standard file used on Wikipedia and/or Wikimedia Commons as a courtesy to current and future users.
The following uploads have have been removed from this site, and have been replaced with the following correct files:
You have recently uploaded a second duplicate onto the site.
You have previously been informed about this and given tips that would've prevented you from duplicating again. Please try not to let this happen again. You will receive no further warnings about this. -- NuclearVacuum 14:38, April 14, 2014 (UTC)
Naming pages and categories
I do know you've already been told about the naming conventions for this site, so I do hope I don't have to explain it again to you.
I went ahead and reamed several of your articles for the timeline Succession of Nations. DO NOT rename these files, DO NOT continue to name your articles in the manner you were using, and DO NOT continue using the categories "SON" or "son". Disciplinary actions will be taken if you continue naming your articles and categories against site rules. Thank you. -- NuclearVacuum 14:51, April 14, 2014 (UTC)
what the hell am I doing wrong? What is wrong with you people, I cheacked that and I did nothing wrong, SON is a valid one according to that
(Masterire (talk) 18:11, April 14, 2014 (UTC))
- You named your timeline "Succession of Nations," yet you put in "SON" for your articles and categories. You also added a second category ("son") which served no purpose. You went against everything against the naming conventions. This is what you did wrong, and all we're trying to do help you out. -- NuclearVacuum 18:50, April 14, 2014 (UTC)
I put it in lower case so the things for the other pages on SON would deffo show up at the bottom, plus, why didnt you tell me this in the first place or consult me first, the do not edit sign at the top clearly states you must contact me for ANY edit or I can get rid of them, I wont because you were helping but please explain clearly in future (Masterire (talk) 19:01, April 14, 2014 (UTC))
- Forgive me for saying this, but your reasoning for making multiple categories makes absolutely no sense. To add, the primary reason I didn't give details initially was you were previously warned about these naming conventions. I assumed you were ignoring them since you appear to be ignoring all the other warnings you have been given about site etiquette. I do apologize for this, and I do hope you will keep these in mind for the future. -- NuclearVacuum 23:23, April 14, 2014 (UTC)
It would be against site rules to write about future events. So you could only go as far as the present. If you want to focus on future events, there is a future Wikia you can participate in. -- NuclearVacuum 22:58, May 26, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! I'm not stopping my current one but I'm going to be focusing on that wikia (Masterire (talk) 13:12, May 27, 2014 (UTC))
