Hey South, hope all has been well these past few years. Don't know how active you've been in keeping up with current affairs but I came back to the site and 1983DD in particular last month after a few years of my attention straying from it and getting a few crucial years of life experience under my belt.

Since coming back I've felt a strong urge to not only pick up on unfinished projects, but to also make up for "lost" time. One of the projects which has caught my urgency involved the USAR's relationship with the Torrington US government. While writing this in LG pointed me to several objections brought in by other editors regarding the plausibility of full-on statehood or unified government of some sort, and he was right on many points for the most part.

This led to me to begin brainstorming other courses of action, and sheer curiosity led me to revisiting not only the USAR's finer points, but one of your hidden gems, Neonotia, and most importantly its founder. I feel like Jimmy Carter's role as being the other "last" US President has largely been neglected outside of founding Neonotia. I have thought about tying him in with other projects I am still plotting out, one of which involves a joint Remnant-Floridian offensive to reclaim most of the rest of the Floridian peninsula (thinking aroud the lines of titling it "Operation Spearhead, has a ring to it, no?) which would result in a USAR protectorate somewhere on the eastern Coast of Florida, further staking its claim as being one of the few true successors to the defunct original United States by finally holding sovereign territory on the mainland. This would all have happened around 2013 or so, possibly dragging into 2014.

Where Carter/Neonotia fits into this would involve a state visit to Charlotte Amalie, or maybe USAR visit to Americus vis a versa, after the American Spring (which yielded little new additions to the timeline) in which the former President would touch on the failed reunification with the Torrington government, and perhaps spark a dialogue regarding reunifying some of the Southern States (thinking Florida, Neonotia, the USVI and maybe Louisiana) under their own regional "United States" which would merge with the Great Plains based nation years down the line when the time comes.

This may also have the effect of rallying the states of the defunct Confederacy to once again reemerge as a consolidated CSA, although that's another animal entirely.

This would likely be a large undertaking, and an ambitious one at that, and I can feel it in my bones that I will most likely encounter ''very''staunch opposition from a certain contributor or two in particular, but I do feel that with input from others with knowledge in the region and concessions to outside opinions that it is an entirely doable project and would make a nice fit to the timeline. Let me know what your thoughts are, and if you would be willing to lend a hand or at least a second opinion. [[User:Arstarpool|Arstar]] [[User talk:Arstarpool|talk]] 15:34, September 20, 2015 (UTC)
