|Hello and welcome to the Alternate History Wiki!|
The Alternate History Wiki is a project for all communities concerned with creating fictional alternative histories. We hope you will feel at home here and wish you good luck contributing to our ever growing collection of alternative histories.
Are you still around?
Good to know you are writing, did I hear there was going to be a Spanish Confederate War?
Is there any room for anyone else to write a niche article, or a short story, based on your timeline?
Will free movement expire in 1900?
A few things come to mind,
For one an article, on the migration between the two states, how many people choose to go in one direction or the other, why? The idea that one can choose with america they want by choice and not just by birth is a fascinating project.
Also an article on domestic issues within the CSA, such as native Americans (or Native Confederates), or even economic/social development. As well as the balance between isolated regions. For example, the Tidewater area of the upper south was not actually the most enthusiastic CSA participant. How will Richmond, deal with these areas, that have different cultures (ie: nonplantation identities).
I also was also thinking about president Tyler, historically he wanted to deport as many African Americans as soon as possible. As slavery declines, I can imagine that this ATL Tyler may actually put some of his dreams into action. Perhaps he will even make a Confederate-African Empire by using deported black people to occupy parts of West Africa.
The story ideas are endless, involving those of the later underground railroad, or a crazy northern southern-phile that falls in love with the agrarian myth. Or various other characters navigating this strange new world of having to construct a nationality.Stepintime (talk) 02:13, June 5, 2019 (UTC)
