|Hello and welcome to the Alternate History Wiki!|
The Alternate History Wiki is a project for all communities concerned with creating fictional alternative histories. We hope you will feel at home here and wish you good luck contributing to our ever growing collection of alternative histories.
Greetings. Recently, you have uploaded THREE files on this site that are duplications of others. Please keep in mind that many of the files found across Wikimedia have also been uploaded to this site — all under the same names and types. These files can easily be found by searching for the file's name in the search bar. If you are using the "visual" mode for editing and uploading, please be advised that you will be required to use underscores (
_) instead of spaces when searching for a file (e.g., "Flag_of_Canada.svg" and not "Flag of Canada.svg"). In the event that the file you require is not already uploaded to this site, it would be very appreciated that you upload the standard file used on Wikimedia as a courtesy to current and future users.
The following uploads have have been removed from this site, and have been replaced with the following correct files:
- File:Roumelia Flag.png → File:California independence flag 2.svg
- File:Canadian Red Ensign.png → File:Canadian Red Ensign 1921-1957.svg
- File:Canada.png → File:Canada (orthographic projection).svg
Please try not to let this happen again. Do not re-upload these files or remove this message from your talk page. Be advised that while this message is simply a warning, continuing to upload duplications will result in the temporary suspension of your account. Thank you for your cooperation. -- NuclearVacuum 18:31, September 24, 2015 (UTC)
You have now uploaded a second duplication onto this site. As stated to you previously, this is not allowed.
I will not be replacing this flag with the correct file (you are welcome to to that on your own). Be advised that a third duplication will now automatically result in the temporary suspension of your account. Please try not to let this happen again. -- NuclearVacuum 03:19, October 5, 2015 (UTC)
Look, I searched before. I really did this time. but it didn't appear. I search for french flag, for royal french flag, flag of france, flag of louisiana and so on, never found it. Ohand just so you know, one of my first duplication (The Roumelia Flag), was a flag I created myself. How was I suppose to know it was already there?
Ps: Just like last time, the new flag you gave me don't work...

- Why aren't you searching for files as instructed in your first warning? You don't do a generic search, you search based on the file name straight off of Wikimedia? Had you followed this (i.e., searching "Pavillon_royal_de_la_France.svg") you should've found the desired file. So please don't give me the "puppy dog eyes" for not following simple instructions.
- I'd also buy your claim of a "phantom duplication" in regards to California... but you used the exact same coloring and dimensions as the original. Had you used generic coloring or the like... then maybe I'd believe that.
Hi, if the staff (or anyone) read this, it's because I just found my St-Iakonos page totaly erased, and I'm kind of frustrated about it. So if someone know how it happened, I would really like to know it too. Thanks.
- Can you please be more specific as to why the correct files aren't working for you? -- NuclearVacuum 18:36, October 5, 2015 (UTC)
- Ok, the files stuff, I got it. In the end, it was because we (because the staff did the same first time they changed my pictures) copy pasted the thing, but didn't erased it completly. It made it like Picture_something.jpg.jpg instead of Picture_something.jpg. Was a stupid problem.
- For the St-Iakonos page. Nothing appear. It is totaly empty when I check it. Why? Is it just me?
The Ashes of Rome Returns
Hi, u might remember me as the player who played as the Caliphate in the Ashes of Rome map game. I was thinking maybe for all the mods in the 1st Ashes of Rome Map Game to make a new map game called 'The Ashes of Rome Returns' for 2016.
Changes from last game: to have ONE player who does turns DAILEY and don't cause stoppages in the game and to crack down on ASBness if nesuary with implausibly hunters (presumably me and candie).
It was just an idea of mine and if no mods want to go through with it I'll ask Knoxmoor (the owner of the series) if I could adopt it.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
To be honest, I don't think it is going ahead because all of the mods of Ashes of Rome except from you didn't responded to my notice because they are all inactive now but I will continue to wait and see what the answer is. Hopefully they'll respond and we have The Ashes of Rome Returns running in 2016!
Re:Map Game Situation
Do forgive me for the delayed response.
The discussions currently taking place refer to possible changes which may take place in the future. As far as I'm aware, nothing has been officially implemented yet. So for now, you have the go ahead from me, but I'm not too sure if these rules will be changed during your game's duration.
Presidential Election Game
You're receiving this message because you either register in the most recent polls or because you're a Republican in the game (no polls out for them). I recognize that the game hasn't moved very quickly or as much as most players would like. I am working on that with Vatonica, since I have a lot of ideas but it's his game so I can't change anything on my own unless I become a mod. That being said, are you still interested? This is a unique game and has the ability to be very fun with the right adjustments! For now, I am putting on an unsanctioned candidates' forum that will either be today or tomorrow, where candidates can come and discuss their ideas/answer questions. Would you be interested in that? Let me know if you are! I'm sure this will be a fun idea for the game. If you yourself have any ideas, please let me know! AP (talk)
I would be grateful for contributions on Quebec (King of America). Sorry for the late reply, been a bit busy irl
You have recently uploaded a third duplication onto this site.
As warned, your account will now be suspended for one week. If duplications continue following this period, your account may suffer longer suspensions. Do try not to let this happen again. -- NuclearVacuum 18:23, February 19, 2016 (UTC)
As i have not actively settled on your land and your burning my settlements you may have just started a war. As i do not wish to war you at this current time i suggest reconsidering this move. If at all possible get on chat and we will discuss this
Hey Zamarak, I'm the Ottomans in 95T and I think you may want to re-think getting into a war with Russia. He wasn't actively colonizing your region and so he's taking the burning thing very offensively. I would like to thank Feud for making Borealia possible 22:02, February 26, 2016 (UTC)
In game Land sale
I was looking to buy land from you, some of the disputed territory is the offending area which will almost guarentee a war between us. So im looking to buy the disputed territory (i will make a map) and offer a 50 year truce going both ways. That way we avoid a war, and you and i can avoid settlement issues. As it stands ive outexpanded you, so this is a wholesale beneficial purchase which will prevent major issues between us for quite awhile.
Emancipation Map Game, Conquering Chile
This is captainjohnrex! Player of Argentine Republic in Emancipation map game. I'm planning to attack in 1866 with my 10,000 army mobilised for 2 years!
Here's my plan:
I would get the west coast of Chile while you get the south! Sounds good?
Itl'l probably take 3-4 years to do this...
Recently you signed up as Athens in PMIV which is currently my vasall (Genoa). I will allow you to play as them under a few conditions.
- Genoa retains exclusive trading rights. (Not that hard on the economy beacuse Athens is considered Loyal)
- Foregin Policy will be controlled by Genoa.
- I will have the right to cross everything out in your turns.
If you have any questions talk to me on Chat. Prince Octavian , of Jerusalem, Sicily, and Swabia, and Duke of Amalfi.
So i noticed your back in Game as Trebizond, and since you remember me as Bulgaria, i will extend my hand and say sorry about Greece, but im more than willing to support you as Trebizond to reclaim alot of the historical Anatolian lands from the Turks. As for the agreement with a status of forces agreement ill change numbers around depending on my european situation but i have no issue with that.
Best Wishes, Emperor of Holy Bulgaria
Re: A Couple of Questions
Hey Zamarak! Glad to see you back
-The Italian League is a group of city-states centered as a large republic with its capital of Ravenna. It used to be the Republic of Venice, but that was destroyed by Belka (Bulgaria) which created the league.
-The Republic of Crete originally was the Biarchy of Crete. It was originally part of the Caliphate for about 100 years until it was released as independent. As part of a peace agreement with Belka, as well as appease the Arab immigrants on the island, the government was made a dual monarchy between an Arab monarch and a Greek monarch (as half the population is Greek and half Arab). When it briefly had a player later on, he removed the biarchy and created an elected government.
-After the Caliphate collapsed in recent years, it split up into the following nations:
- Ethiopian Empire (me)
- Jaffarid Arabia (Solace)
- Iran (Bozi)
- Sultanate of Cyprus (no player)
- Maghreb Sultanate (no player)
- Ecumenical Rashidun Caliphate (no player)
Cyprus is a completely Muslim and almost entirely Arabic nation due to the Caliphate ruling it from the beginning of the game until a few turns ago. It was directly annexed at first, then later elevated to an Emirate, then finally made a Sultanate, before it became independent. It is ruled by a branch of the Abbasid dynasty that were not affected by the earlier change of dynasties.
Personally, I would love for players to take up the remaining successor states of the Caliphate if at all possible. Other nations in that region that would be great to play include:
- The Italian League aforementioned
- The Kingdom of Ionia, a Greek orthodox nation in Anatolia that broke off from the Ottoman Empire (oh yeah btw, the Ottomans collapsed)
- The Republic of Crete aforementioned
- The Sultanate of Rum (what's left of Anatolia)
- One of the many other successors of the Ottoman Empire in Anatolia
- Kingdom of Poland
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask :)
- There is no Turkish population in Cyprus for any reason
- There is some Greek population, but the vast majority is Arab Muslim
- Everyone in the eastern Mediterranean is practically obligated to be your ally due to the Treaty of Cairo. The states in the western Mediterranean are neuteral. Your fleet is the largest Muslim navy in the east mediterranean (in the west it's eclipsed by Maghreb). Cyprus is obligated to help the Caliphate have trade with the indian ocean.
- The ruling dyansty is technically the Zayid branch of the Abbasid dynasty (descended by an Abbasid guy named Zayid). It was after the Sultanate started that they started calling themselves Abbasid.
- Last I calculated Cyprus had 1-2 million people, but I suck at numbers too
Kingdom of Postonacres
Also I just took a look at the territory you claim. If your nation is 10,000 pixels that's a lot bigger than I think you expect. It's almost three times bigger than the Isle of Man, for example. So you might want to revise your cities to be a bit more spread out, because at 10,000 pixels you can definitely control part of the coast and inland as well. If I understand your post correctly the area you are currently claiming is only like 1,000 pixels, so let me know if you'd like to control any specific areas, because if not I'll just expand your nation further inland. PM4: War with Venice
Just a heads up, the algo originally made by the player of Italy was incorrect, so you are not in fact in danger of being conquered. Your invasion attempt was defeated decisively and you were driven back to the island. I would encourage you to post on the Treaty of Damietta page to end hostilites between you and Italy. And FYI, try not to get involved with Europe in the future.
Just so you know when I talked to the Jaffarid player, the Maghreb player, etc they seemed to indicate that they would only support you, i.e. join you in the war if your nation was actually in real danger of being conquered, which it's not. Not to mention the Maghreb player is already in the middle of a different war anyway. And the population may not be completely correct (I personally don't think the number in the millions is plausible at all since that's higher than Cyprus' 2050 predicted population, and it's only 1730), but even when we change the population to the maximum estimate it's still a victory for me. That said I'm not demanding any territory, and I'm not trying to destroy your nation. So if possible can you please consider my Treaty of Damietta? I think it's best to try to wrap up the war and not prolong this too much. If there's anything you want to talk about in the treaty we can negotiate. But again as I said your nation isn't in danger of being annexed/vassalized/conquered at all, and I'm not demanding any territory, so I think we can reach an agreement. Thanks, Gatthias (talk) 14:23, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
I should also add that the treaty has been approved by moderators (namely Sky at the moment), and I am told that if you refuse to sign after a while a moderator will just sign for you. So again when you get a chance please sign the treaty so we can just put the war behind us quickly. Thanks, Gatthias (talk) 21:06, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
RE: War with venice
Your population is a little over a million. Also the Italian League couldn't do much against you as your navy is bigger than theirs. I'd definitely appreciate you to stay in the game, even if not active for now, and maybe even add a nation page if you would like Oh, I didn't mean to push that button! † Oh, well leave a message I guess 22:40, July 19, 2017 (UTC)
